Who should Manny fight next and why?
It's either Mayweather or Marquez, right? Or should he retire as Khan says?
Bradley would be a good fight while it lasts, but I don't think it makes as much sense as the other two right now.
Mayweather is the bigger financial fight of the options, but the appeal from a competitive point of view has been lost after last weekend.
We know Marquez v. Manny is a great fight, but we've seen it three times. We already know how it will play out. Maybe Pacquiao owes Marquez another opportunity to get the win given the controversy surrounding the last fight.
Retiring is also an option. Manny has had a HOF career. In addition, one explanation for his flat performance his last weekend is that he is on the slide physically and just couldn't pull the trigger anymore.

Floyd in May or quit
simple as that

Re: Who should Manny fight next and why?
He should admit marquez beat him and than ask marquez for a rematch. Obviously we want to see the mayweather fight but let's get real.. bob arum is never going to put pacquiao in the ring with floyd mayweather.

Mark TKO - can you explain your reasoning? My problem with the Floyd fight now is that I don't see it as competitive.

Re: Who should Manny fight next and why?
Agree with Mark on this one, it's got to be Floyd, if not then just retire and get into the politics he so badly wants to do.
As some have mentioned, maybe Pac is on the slide, if this is the case then go out making the most ya can in one more fight, and that can only be Floyd.
The Marquez fight doesnt interest me now. We know how thats gonna pan out.
I would take Pac to beat Bradley in similar fashion he destroyed Cotto, Margarito etc..
Bradley will come forward and get smacked like a little boy who filled his pants.

I feel in a way about the Bradley fight like I do about the Floyd fight. Both wouldn't be super competitive although if Pac is on the slide, maybe Bradley would be more competitive than we think.

Mayweather.
Because its the fight thats been hyped up for the past 3 years. Doesn't need much of an explanation.

Rantcatrat, I don't see why you would not want to see this fight, after all this time of hype and debate. What happen on the weekend has happened twice before so I don't see how you thought it would be competitive before but after the weekend its not.

I think Bradley would be more inclined to come forward early in the fight and attempt to impose his will. Whereas Floyd, will fight off the back foot and counter Pac moving in, once he has Manny stunned or hurt he will move forward. Like Marquez, he will prefer the counter style, well thats Floyd all over anyway.

Re: Who should Manny fight next and why?
How about the guy that swims a lot on Saddo? Surely that would be an epic war for Pac?:p
-
Re: Who should Manny fight next and why?
Mayweather or retire, Pac is slipping and can't prove anything fighting anyone else.

Manos - While I always thought Floyd would win, if Manny had dominated Marquez last weekend, he would have shown that he had made significant improvements since their last fight or that he was much more effective at welterweight, which would have convinced me that he had a shot to win in a fight with Floyd. Because he had tough time with Marquez, I'm even more convinced it would be a blow out in favor of Mayweather.
Would you have still wanted to see the Floyd fight if Manny had lost last weekend?

Re: Who should Manny fight next and why?
It has to be Floyd, maybe after Pac's last performance PBF might just grow a pair and take the fight.
Apart from the obvious reasons I mainly want this fight because I've got the green light off the missus for a lads trip to Vegas if the fight gets made. Considering our first born will barely be a month old come May 5th she's being pretty understanding it has to be said.

Re: Who should Manny fight next and why?
Marquez... Anything else is criminal..
-
It's got to be a mayweather fight! There's been too much said about who wins do it needs sorting now! Mayweather wins for me but it's the only fight that seems to make sense right now.
-
Re: Who should Manny fight next and why?
Obviously he should fight Mayweather. Marquez is a second choice, but I'm sure it's going to be Bradley. That is why he fought on the undercard against an old Casamayor , who's not so active style is perfect for the young and high punch output fighter in Bradley. Arum has it all planned out.

Fair point.
I think that Marquez won the other night but I would sill like to see the fight made because there are people out there who think pac won and think pac can beat mayweather and if the fight isn't made the blame will wrongly fall on Floyd. Basically just to shut a load of people up for all that has been said and is still being said. There will be no end until the fight happens.

Well, if it is to end the domination of Floyd and Manny over boxing and and an end to the crusade of Flomos and Pactards, I'm in. ;)
There are VERY few people who believe Pacquiao can beat Mayweather now. I guarantee Floyd will open up as a HUGE favorite if they fight.
I understand it's a huge event and all that too, which means a lot to be sure. I guess I view it a bit as Sergio versus Chavez Jr. I understand Sergio deserves the money fight and I understand that he was robbed of his belt, but the fight will be completely one-sided.

Re: Who should Manny fight next and why?
Before the 3rd Pacquiao-Marquez fight, Manny is already the underdog if he fights Floyd. Now he is a very heavy underdog, just like when he fought Oscar. Hopefully, that will again bring out the best in him.
But I think that Manny is indeed slipping. If he is to have one last fight before he retires, it should be with Mayweather. I want him to aim for the ultimate legacy. If he is to lose, at least he loss to the best. It will be an anti-climactic end to his illustrious career if he loses to some other boxer. Even a dominant win against Marquez would not be as satisfying for JMM will always be considered as old.

Re: Who should Manny fight next and why?
I saw signs of genuine wear and tear with Pacquaio and unless he fights Floyd in May then he should give Marquez one more go and then retire. He looks the type of fighter that if he sufferred a serious KO defeat many more would follow in his twilight years. Would hate to see that happen, It's May or never for Pac and Mayweather!
