24/7 Cotto VS Margarito
So what did everyone think of the first episode? Cotto seems very focused and passionate for this fight. Margarito only fuels the bad guy image he is being portrayed as.
Did anyone see anything telling in the episode??

Re: 24/7 Cotto VS Margarito
i saw it, they both actually look very focused to me, one is trying to prove the first fight was a fluke, and the other one trying to prove that it wasnt, i am actually really excited for this fight, it has bad blood between two very good fighters, but i say cotto comes out on top in this one

Re: 24/7 Cotto VS Margarito
SO I was rewatching the episode this morning, did anyone else notice that the "crack" in Margarito's gloves was actually a piece of thread or string??

Re: 24/7 Cotto VS Margarito
As far as what I thought? Several things.
I LOVED that Miguel finally came out and said that he knows that Margacheato used illegal wraps in their fight, and that he called him a criminal, because that is what he is.
I'll admit it, I got teary eyed when Miguel and his mom where talking about his dad.
I love his tat of his dad on his back, and him knowing that his dad will always have his back.
Now for the cheater and his team......
Two major lies were told in the show.
First, Margacheato stating that after the wraps scandal came out, that he cut all ties with Capetillo. LIAR!!!!! Is that why you were seen on TV with Capetillo in at least 2 Giovanni Segura fights that I can recall after the illegal wraps scandal? He was seen with them in the locker room, and standing in the ring with him, all smiles.
Then Capetillo.... In 24/7, he states that he arrived late, and used pads that were sitting on a table. LIAR!!!!! In your official statement at the California hearing, and in the interview you did with Doug Fischer of Ring Magazine, you stated that you grabbed the wrong pad out of your bag. This is what he stated in the interview.
"Maybe I was feeling the pressure of the fight and not paying attention to what I was doing when I reached into my bag and grabbed the training gauze, but I didn't do it on purpose."
So which was it, on the table or in the bag? And if it was sitting on the table, who prepared that pad?
And is Margacheato blind now from his eye injury? Pretending he doesn't see a tear in the wraps from the fight with Cotto. Says it could be a fucking booger? Give me a break. And why can't him or Capetillo explain why there is red dye on the pad from the Mosley fight, when a glove was never put on his hands. And why is it red in the exact same spot as where it was for the Cotto fight?
His camp also stated that there was someone from Cotto's camp in the locker room while Margacheato's hands were being wrapped, but if that is so, why aren't they saying exactly who was in there? They don't give a name.
Then the cheater is questioning Miguel's heart. Well in this episode it's obvious that Miguel is all heart, and that Margacheato doesn't have one.

Ya I kept looking at that but later in that show they had live footage of the first fight and you can see that is not a tear on his handwrap its like a piece of string or something. I know that doesnt mean anything but that has always been the suspicion for me. The picture looking like the handwraps were cracked when they were not cracked it was something on the wraps which like I said looks like a piece of string.
Maragarito is acting like a douche and he doesnt do himself any favors, but I do have to admit that I want him to win, cant help it.

Re: 24/7 Cotto VS Margarito
Wow this was the best 24/7 to date. It's even better because of the real bad blood coming from Cotto. This drama is intense!
Ive seen a side of Cotto that ive never seen before. The guy actually showed emotions talking about his father. That part got me choked up.
His english speaking ability impressed me as well.. I never knew he was that well spoken. Must be a fast learner or he just never chose to speak it in the past.. But the guy is a whole lot brighter than some thick headed Pacquiao who can't speak without stuttering even after living in cali for years.. UH uh i fight for the peoplerrr uh uh i make peoplerr happy.. rubbish...
I can't wait for the next episode..

Cotto started learning english early on in his pro career saying that he didn't want to be like Trinidad and have to rely on translators who often misinterpret or translate things out of context, he supposedly learned with Rosetta Stone

Re: 24/7 Cotto VS Margarito
Margarito is really playing up the bad guy role. And doing a damn good job at it. Without a doubt one of the best 24-7 ever

Margarito is a cheater, that being said even before the hand wraps thing he was never anyone ones sweetheart. He obviously had more supporters but he had some serious haters. I remember the threads in here before the first fight and the same people that trash him now used to trash him before, only now its "justified."
-
Re: 24/7 Cotto VS Margarito
Between making fun of Roach's Parkinson's Disease (oh, wait...I forgot, he said he wasn't doing that) and the hand wraps, he ain't gonna sell any tickets playing the good guy.
-
Re: 24/7 Cotto VS Margarito
Pretty good 24/7. I still think Margarito will beat Cotto again.
-
Re: 24/7 Cotto VS Margarito
I've thought Margarito was a piece of shit from day 1..from the moment Bob Arum and he gave "himself" that "most avoided" tag..(bullshit).
I watched the guy fight and though "why the fuck would anyone avoid you?"..he claimed MM was avoiding him..claimed his fight against PW was a robbery (idiot)..the only time i begrudgingly gave him props was against Cotto..only to find he used illegal wraps the night against Mosley (and also got exposed for the shitty fighter he is) bitter sweet.
I hope Cotto annihilates these piece of garbage once and for all. I agree with Cotto, "my dog is worth more than this man"..I knew that from day 1.
Literally has only made it as a fighter for being able to take shots and walk forward..if Cotto negates that, he's won.

even if Margarito was to win, it wouldn't really change anything, the son of a bitch is a cheater, worse yet he's not even remorseful about what he did/tried to do, IMO if Margarito was to pull off a win, it would only be due to the fact that the damage had already been done, there's a reason why Margarito doesn't ever really answer the questions thrown at him, A) he's either too fucking dumb to give a simple clear cut answer or B) he throws out so many different versions that basically contradict each other
like Kellerman asked, Margarito told Max himself that he didn't feel anything wrong or different on the hand that had already been wrapped against Mosley, so even if he wants to play the dumb card, how the hell can he say without a doubt that he didn't have plaster against Cotto

I don't get the eye-rolling? I'm not a Miguel supporter as such but he's a good fighter with a pleasing style. If margarito wins, then it was because he had that style to handle Cotto.
It still doesn't excuse him from being an illegal hand-wrapping piece of shit and no one will still ever know whether he did it in the first Cotto fight or not.
I think most Miguel supporters will be on the edge of their seat anyway because for me this is a pick-em fight. I would say 70-30 in Cotto's favour if the hand wraps were indeed worn in the first fight..but around 50-50 if Margarito's victory was legit in their first fight.
It's compelling because there is still so much mystery regardless of the fact that they have fought once before.

Cotto will go for the eye with a right cross.

And let’s say we were 100% sure that he cheated vs Cotto. Ok, this time around, having him checked with a magnifying glass to make sure he doesn’t cheat, yet, he wins again, would he get credit? We can say “But he was about to cheat with Shane Mosley” sure, but we’re talking about NOW.

That is what makes the fight interesting for me. This time around people will make sure nothing questionable happens so, who will really win? Tony took Miguel punches with ease. How will it be this time around? Both come from a pretty bad beating so we can't really say "Oh, he lost because he came from a beating" nope, both did. Or even say "Well, he did beat Miguel this time around but...he was caught before" come on, that has been taken care of already. We are talking about what will happen this time around.

Damn straight!!!!!

Credit for what? He's a convicted cheater... who has shown no remorse for what he's done. He's also a low-life character, who resorts to making fun of disabled people (Freddy Roach)... then has the audacity to pass it off as just having some fun. He's a serial liar, like Diane well chronicled... by claiming to have cut ties with certain characters that he's then seen with after his lies. Just the sight of him revolts me.
On a lighter note, however.... you get my vote for the most awesome avatar on the forum.
:D

why the hell would he deserve credit? if we already were 100% sure that he did use plaster well then like i said, the damage has already been done, so why the hell does he deserve anymore credit other than he picked up a win against a man he already had diminished by cheating

As a fighter, I'll definitely give him credit if he wins this time around.
As a person, it'd be pretty hard to change my mind about him.
