Good set of fights anyone watch them? I was impressed with Bisping he seem's to be ever improving. I was just wondering were he should be placed in the division? I think he should be side by side with Munoz. He is coming of four good wins and definitely at the top of the division with Munoz. If Anderson wasn't hurt it should be Silva vs Sonnen then Munoz vs Bisping for no.1 contender in my opinion. Right now i think he should be one fight away from that shot but who does he fight?
I'm not sold on Bisping as a title contender but I was impressed with how he adjusted after the 1st round and dismantled Mayhem

A great card all around I thought. That little Brazillian kid is great to watch, and his lightening fast transition into an arm bar after getting dropped was superb.
Nobody can seriously maintain any longer than mixed martial arts doesn't have the same skill level as boxing imo, these guys are just phenomenal. I would love to have that kind of arsenal. Great show.
I agree and its a different skill level. They have more to think about, more ranges to be attacked on too and thats just the hitting part. Front kick,knee,elbow fist are all different ranges so the reaction is honed to just prior to each range. Boxing only has the fist at its own ranges.Quote:

It was a good card overall. Monkey Boy Dodson and his fucking monkey cackle ran wild on TJ Dillashaw's arrogant big nosed self. Don't really like either of them much, but Dodson is like the missing link between man and ape and very agile, fast, and powerful.
Diego destroyed, though I wanted the other fella to win and it looked like he might for a while.
Mayhem Miller was just outweighed and outclassed. Bisping has some good boxing skills I think, and looked spectacular against Miller.
I think Silva and Sonnen would smoke him, maybe Belfort as well. We'll see how Belfort does against Munoz.

Bisping is fighting Damien Mia on the UFC on Fox 2 card. Step back for Bisping in my opinion.

As for Bisping, this is a good fight for him imo, gotta say I agree with Captain America, Bisping has had it easy so far, he needs to fight a ranked MW to stake a shot at the title, and Maia is a step in the right direction.
Maia is a good step for him. I haven't seen anything yet from Bisping to show that he is a legit title contender yet. He needs to beat Maia convincingly and then would still need another quality win before having a legit claim to a title shot.

Where are you seeing Maia at 15? Everywhere I've looked, he's in the 6-8 range with Bisping between 8-10. I think these are the official rankings here? Have him at 6 like you say.

Is it just me or this possibly the weakest division in the UFC? Take away Silva and Sonnen and you aren't left with much at all.

2. Chael Sonnen (26-11-1)
In spite of a year fraught with controversy, Sonnen got back to work on Oct. 8, shutting down the surging Brian Stann en route to a second-round submission win. The Oregonian will look to prove that he is, as he claims, the true middleweight champion when he rematches top-ranked Anderson Silva in 2012.
3. Yushin Okami (26-6)
Japan’s top MMA export fell well short in his long-awaited August rematch with UFC champ Anderson Silva, succumbing to punches for the first time since 2003. While he had to play visitor to Silva in Rio de Janeiro, Okami will hold home field advantage when he attempts to get back on track against Tim Boetsch at UFC 144 in Saitama, Japan.
4. Mark Munoz (11-2)
The ever-improving wrestler from Oklahoma State took another big step up the middleweight ladder on Nov. 5, beating the brakes off of tough vet Chris Leben en route to a second-round corner stoppage. Munoz’s UFC record now sits at 7-2, with strong victories over Demian Maia, Aaron Simpson and C.B. Dollaway.
5. Nate Marquardt (31-10-2)
After a testosterone replacement therapy debacle caused Marquardt’s June ouster from the UFC, the Greg Jackson student inked a contract with the London-based British Association of Mixed Martial Arts. Now, Marquardt has his first opponent, fellow UFC vet Yoshiyuki Yoshida, against whom he’ll vie for the vacant BAMMA welterweight title on Feb. 11.
6. Demian Maia (15-3)
After coming up short in a close June decision against Mark Munoz, Maia got back on track with a grinding win over Jorge Santiago on Oct. 8. The decorated grappler has won four of his last six starts, all of which have gone the distance.
7. Brian Stann (11-4)
Stann had no answer for the ground attack of Chael Sonnen at UFC 136, submitting to the former title contender in the second frame. The loss snapped a three-fight winning streak which saw Stann polish off Chris Leben, Jorge Santiago and Mike Massenzio.
8. Michael Bisping (21-3)
Bisping silenced antagonist Jorge Rivera in February with a second-round knockout, but the Englishman will attempt to close an even louder mouth later this year. The winner of "The Ultimate Fighter" Season 3 is currently in Las Vegas serving as a coach for Season 14 of the reality series, the finale of which will see Bisping square off against middleweight wildman and rival coach Jason "Mayhem" Miller.
9. Vitor Belfort (20-9)
On Jan. 14, the 34-year-old “Phenom” will fight in his home country of Brazil for the first time in more than a decade. Belfort will try to build on his August destruction of Japanese star Yoshihiro Akiyama when he faces former welterweight standout Anthony Johnson at UFC 142.
10. Luke Rockhold (8-1)
Rockhold enters the rankings on the back of his Strikeforce middleweight title win, a razor-thin Sept. 10 decision in which the American Kickboxing Academy fighter handed the Brazilian gator his first stateside defeat.
He has beat everyone put in his way in his last 4 thats usually how many it takes for a shot. I suppose Munoz is more diserving? He has fought top fighters right? Leben who Bisping beat?
