Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
Out of all the possibilities for Floyds next fight, and for his age, Canelo is one of the stronger and more dangerous options, although young, his boxing ability and game is so far a bit untested and unknown, he also has as fast hands as anyone else in the running for Mayweather's next super fight
Will it happen? How are you calling that fight? your thoughts?

2. Cotto
3. Strum

Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
To be honest, Floyd is all in another league compared to Canelo. The young ginger sure shows some nice skills, grits and seems to have a nice jaw but at this very moment, I don't see many guys able to shake off Floyd from his throne (except perhaps Manny if he comes on his best day and then again, I am not sold).

yeahh i too see it that way really, I don't think there is anyone to beat floyd..
The most dangerous in my opinion are Maravilla (weight wise i cant see it happening) and Canelo, because both are fast and can punch. but Floyds whole style, attitude, game is different to most, some come with their style and stick to it, and others can mix it up and do what needs to be done, but it seems like no guys can really do that to floyd
Its just one of those things im asking people they opinion, cause for example canelo hasnt come against another boxer anywhere near floyds capability and won, mostly punchers, some boxer punchers with some skill, awkward stylists like rhodes, but Im thinking it could be comparable to a mosely situation in which mosely is a boxer puncher, fast hands 'can' box (against a puncher) and win and look good, but when a guy boxes against him, he can't out box a boxer.
If this got signed for 5 may the answers arent there right now, its a possibility that canelo has what it takes but no solid reason to beleive it just yet, its unproven but not impossible. thats an angle to work for the fight definately,

I'm open to Floyd - Cotto @ 154 for another jr middle belt. Its a big show, Entertaining fight.
Think that sturm is too big, doubt that floyd will look for a middleweight title
Which is a shame cause alot of other fighters went and got that mw title, Leonard, Oscar, Did duran get mw? or jnr mw and super mid? i forget, cba to boxrec

Floyd has no business at that weight.
Canelo stop being a pussy and fight a cruiserweight world champion, now that's a challenge.
People stop talking about floyd vs Canelo as it smells like shit.
Canelo vs macklin or barker

Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
Not a bad style match but I don't think it'll happen soon. I think Alvarez needs to put alot more polish on his game and cred to inspire Floyd to roll the dice there. Alvarez has the exposure but with respects to weary Cintron may need that big scalp first to lead into it. All in all it's what the sport needs more of...elite fighting one of clear cut next generation. Waiting on divas to mix it up is seeing us all miss other opportunitys.

Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
Now I'm going to try to answer this without being bias since I'm a Canelo fan lol. Saul has a shot. Let's be honest you can't outbox Floyd we all know that. But you can outfight him, Castillo did and in many people's opinion won the fight. Now sure Floyd has improved but we saw Floyd VERY hurt when he was rocked by Mosley. If Canelo was to catch Floyd like that and that's a big IF he would have to put pressure and go in for the knock out. Because that's the only way I can see him beating Floyd putting pressure taking him off his game and hoping for the KO. I feel he would have to do this early as Floyd kinda takes the first rounds easy and feels out his opponent we saw this in the Judah fight were he gave many rounds, when Mosley rocked him early, with Ortiz, Hatton. But he quickly kicks it into gear and dominates in the later rounds. Like I said that's my opinion on HOW he could POSSIBLY win. As per my prediction, I feel like Floyd would outbox him and stop him in the late rounds. Canelo is far too young and not as experienced for Floyd..

Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
Canelo gets tagged to easily against lesser opponents. Floyd counters him all night to a boring UD.
-
If he covers up till he traps Floyd in a corner and then hammers away, yes!!!! Cuz that mofo is like a tank.
-
Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
this would be Mayweather/Baldomir II
-
Saul beats anyone at 154. Floyd! Martinez!! And Cotto!!!
U heard it first from . . .

I admire your honesty, and your prediction but actually disagree that sugar shane hurt Floyd badly, When you get hurt badly you drop like Khan-Prescott or you get hurt on the ropes like castillo v corrales or tito - campas. But Floyd gets hit really hard and flush but also catches the punch with his arm/shoulder and holds on for a minute, He knows he got tagged and sure he had to hold on or just plain knew what was best for him, but yeah he had some big time wits about him still. :)

Floyd vs Canelo just doesn't fit. Put Canelo with a puncher.
Maybe cotto but the kid will move up to middleweight soon anyway so fuck it put him against a British middleweight or send him to Germany to take the WBA "we be amatuers"
I let u troll I just speak my mind.

Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
Floyd owns Alvarez!
Preference would be:
Pacquiao
Martinez at 154
Bradley

Bradley yes!!
But he is too small tbh and that's why caneo can move up and fight middleweights maybe super middleweights.
-
Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
I was also going to say it will be like the baldomir fight but canelo is more skilled than that so it wont be as bad it'll be similar.
My prefernce would be;
1. Pac - just because off all the hype
2.Martinez - at 154 would be a real superfight
3.Cotto - at 154, years late but cotto showed he still has something left, plus I want cotto to get a huge payday

Canelo is so slow Floyd would toy with him
-
Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
At this time No
Any newbie champ against a consistent 12 or maybe 15 year undefeated champion?
Should be:
1.Floyd-Pac - their consistency reign for a decade as championship caliber fighters and also the hype.
2.Floyd-Maravilla- interesting ones
-

Alvarez is 20 years old he hasnt even stopped growing yet.. would not put him at middle yet, until 21 or 22, super middle is a joke for his size..
canelo was fighting at welter not so long ago

Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
No. I like Alvarez and I think he's a good fighter, but there's a world of difference between fighting guys like Ryan Rhodes and Kermit Cintron, and taking on Floyd Mayweather. I don't even think it would be competitive should it be made any time soon.

Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
Christ no........this question is damn near laughable. We want floyd to get a challenge but geeezzzuss. I see absolutly nothing in canelo that says he could beat or even hit floyd more than a couple of times. Most question if the guy can even beat chavez jr but that same fighter could beat the best fighter in the sport ??? Why ? He's not faster, stronger, smarter, etc, shit other than having redder hair he isn't even close in any of these departments...or is it that he proved he can win by beating kermit, or world beater a gomez, we'll just skip ryan rhodes cause it has to be beating hatton not ricky matt that has people asking this question. Floyd is human, he can be beat but picking a new hero of sub par comp every week simply by who just won last is grasping at straws borderline silly at best. Canelo could take the guys he's beaten have them tag in and out between rounds and they still wouldn't beat floyd. Before i stop blabing on. Im in no way saying alvarez is garbage or a bad fighter, i just think these guys should fight each other and earn a spot, im tired of spending 60 bucks for floyd to teach these guys how to box just cause the sport has such a hard dick to see the guy loose.

Re: Can you see Canelo beating Floyd Jr?
Floyd picks him apart, Alvarez goes into a shell like nobodys seen him before. Alvarez starts doubting himself and is ruined.. Too big a gamble for his management and promoters. Gotta let these young guys come into their own. No sooner do the kids make a name for themselves and here comes cherry picking floyd for the easy win by leading the kid out into deep water and drowning him. Already did it with Ortiz. Alvarez shouldnt be next... This is part of the reason boxing has no superstars for tomorrow. First you have to protect them from themselves then from guys looking to turn them for profit.
That being said i wouldnt mind someone putting us out of the misery of Chavez jr. who dwarfs most of his opponents in the ring yet still supposedly makes weight..

And he's only 20. There's no need to ruin him yet. ;D
