BOXINGTALK : MAYWEATHER JAIL SENTENCE DELAYED UNTIL JUNE! CINCO DE MAYO FIGHT VS. TBA IS BACK ON!
After previously saying Manny would fight in "May or June" and couldn't possibly wait until after that for Floyd to get out. Ridiculous.
Martinez or bust.

Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
This is some BullSh!T!!!
I really enjoy watching Mayweather fight, however this is whats wrong with the world! Everything up to this point has now made sense, Mayweather throwing out the May day, his calm and leisure about his jail time, He already knew he was getting out of serving time.
When you have money you make your own rules.
Throw that F'er in jail!

Money Talks...Bull Shit walks
job biscuit (2012 starts off the way it's going to end...shameless)!!!
eh eh!!!

Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
This will be Great. Goes in May 5th , Fights Pacquiao , Gets KO'D then goes to jail ;D

Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
Wow all judges, whether boxing or legal, in America are useless.
One rule for us, one for the rich and famous. Terrible.
-
Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
That's some Mayor Quimbey politics right there. If he knocks out Manny can he buy further immunity by agreeing to take on Martinez?
It seems like being WBC champ entitles to immunity of prosecution in the same way being President of Italy does.

Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
im very happy to see that floyd can fight on may 5th.
but ill admit this is whats wrong with society these days.
this dude is gonna fight in may make his money and than serve his jailtime and probably get out 7 weeks early.at the end of the day his crimes are gonna result in a country club 50 or 60 day vacation.
i love floyd as a boxer, but he needs to evolve into a better person.
he's my favorite boxer along with hopkins but they just need to carry themselves as great outside the ring as they do in it...
-
Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
That is very convenient for Floyd, but he will be in jail eventually.
-
Bob arum is shitting himself.
He wants peterson for some easy money and he keeps ducking floyd!
No pac fan or top rank fan can justify bobs reluctance for pac to fight floyd!
He is free to fight in may but the excuses keep coming!

It's clear that Arum is avoiding Floyd. But Pac, Roach and Ariza want the fight, lose, then have Marquez 4.

Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
I have no doubt that Pac would fight Mayweather. The piece of shit Bob Arum on the other hand wants nothing to do with it. Let's start hearing the excuses pouring in as to why this fight will not happen.

The other excuses got old already (afraid of needles, don't like blood, nurse can hurt his arm, need X amount of days to clean up whatever is in his blood, etc.) so let's hear the new excuses:rolleyes:.

Peterson isn't a Welterweight. Am I out of the loop here?
Wouldn't surprise me if Mayweather never does any time.
-
Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
Peterson is 1 of the names been given to Manny to choose who he wants to fight,
-
What will be the excuse for the fight Not happening this time?

Look at my post that's second on the thread. Bob simply says (contrary to previous statements that he couldn't wait until post-June for a potential Mayweather fight) that Manny won't be ready to fight until "the summertime."
Arum is most to blame but if Manny and Roach really wanted this, it would happen, obviously.
-
Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
This is all very simple, really. Floyd had serious misgivings about getting in the ring with Pacquiao until he saw the Pac-JMM fight. Now that he's more motivated, this jail business gets in the way.
-
Peterson is not a legitimate test for pac. As mentioned before he is not even a welterweight. Leave him for khan.
Pac must fight:-
1.mayweather
2. Marquez
3. mayweather
4. Bradley?
-
Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
Word is that Mayweather is going to end up fighting Cotto in May.
Not particularly happy or excited about that.
The jail postponing seems awfully preferential to me

A fight with Marquez? There's no way JMM can win. Maybe if Pac leaves on a stretcher but after seeing their 3 fights, do you really think JMM could get the nod on a desicion? I doubt it specially after all the money that can be made with a mega fight vs Floyd.
Mayweather vs Cotto? I just can't see Cotto hurting Floyd or even winning a single round really. Let's hope we don't hear people going "Oh, Cotto was old" because it is not like Floyd is getting any younger either. Pac is the only one I can see hurting Floyd but after seeing how he can't handle JMM, I would give Floyd a better chance of winning.

My bet is that Floyd fights Canelo. The only non-Pac names Schaefer even put out there are Canelo and Roberto Guerero (a *lightweight*). Where are you hearing Cotto?

Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
Typical. Maybe he can find some fat neighborhood kid or his mom to thump his chest and step too ??? Put em on stilts, stuff his trousers with rocks and pass them off as legit 147 guys, who knows.
Fuck Floyd. Go to jail. Then come back and make your millions.
-
Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
I wonder how much money Mayweather has burnt through since all of this legal stuff has begun? He might need two fights against Pacman this year to cover expenses?
Time is running out and May 5th looks good and so does a rematch in November!

bro he went on record and called out Pacquiao for May 5th before Manny even fought Marquez, I believe the video was even released before the Pacquiao/Marquez fight even happened

Arum apparently said shortly after Mayweather's new ruling that Pacquiao suffered a cut in the Marquez fight and to be safe he wants him to fight no earlier than June. I think it's obvious Manny and his camp want the fight but Arum is being a twat.

Unless that cut was given to him by Leatherface wielding a chainsaw then that cut will have healed by May 5th! Arum is full of shit.

Bravo to Dan Rafael for writing that article and really calling Arum out on this BS.
-
Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
I don't think Arum is scared of putting Pacquiao in with Mayweather. Win or lose Pacquiao only has a couple of fights left regardless and the minimal financial impact of him losing to Floyd would be far outweighed by the amount of money the super-fight would make.
I just think that he really dislikes Floyd because of their past, doesn't want to work with him, and doesn't want to be part of making him money. It's sad and an example of the factionalism which is helping to marginalize boxing.

Typical of who? Floyd? Lol these are the kinda B.S posts that show you Floyd can't win no matter what he does. When has Floyd ever fought somebody underweight? Apart from Marquez? Who he took almost 2 years off and came back to as a warm-up! Apart from that he has had zero B.S catchweight fights like someone we know...I'm just waiting for Diane to get to this thread to balance out the bias :/
Anyway he's still going to jail, relax. Whether we like it or not he makes the state big money when he fights so it's in their best interest. A crime is a crime so he should do the time but get mad if he doesn't do jail time in June.
As far as opponents, Cotto or Martinez please if Uncle Bob hasn't finished cleaning up the mess he made in his trousers by May 5th upon hearing this news.

Point is that trying to convince anyone that Floyd has done his absolute most to fight Pacquiao is a hard sell. If I'm p4p #1 and want to stay that way.... and if I've got all the money in the world (or more than I will ever need, in any case).... and I've got the public clamoring for someone else as #1 in the world.... you damn straight I'm gonna do everything in my power to get a fight with that other dude. Floyd hasn't done that. Plain and simple.

it's not like Pacquiao has been bending over backwards trying to make the fight happen either, we both know Arum will die before he lets his golden goose get in the ring with Mayweather

Re: Mayweather's Jail Sentence Postponed to June 1st!
Why not have the first 2 week's in March, and the last 2 week's in June
weather should be nice.? :p

Yeah I agree with this..somebody once said Floyd will never ever call someone out anymore as it shows he's not number 1 rather than "all roads lead to Floyd" and people should call him out..but I think if he really gave up his pride just this occasion and even if it's in Floyds typical crass style, hound, harrass and abuse Pacquiao. Surely it would corner them into signing the contract when one party is making all the noise.
They are both to blame, neither as much as Arum..but they arent helping.
