kevin mithell, anyone else think he is the best of british got something about him this lad
No.
next question ?
Yes he is , when he is on his game he has that special world class quality, Khan has it and he was de-railed early on but got there. Kevin can do the same.
Mitchell is the most naturally gifted of the current British fighters IMO .At his very best he is a very classy fighter, lets hope we get to see a lot more of him this year.
He is good but i think alot of people on hear think hes better than he is, just wait till burns gets a hold of him.
He certainly is. SuperKev is the most skilled, active British fighter by far.
Nobody in Britain comes close when it comes to natural talent.
Funny how he doesn't even make the top ten in the British trade press then isn't it. How many Mitchell fights had you seen by the time he fought Murray? A lot of his success can be attributed to the Tibbs factor and yes he is a fine boxer but your hyperbole is starting to sound a little sycophantic. As far as careers go a lot of UK fighters have surpassed his achievements and it is Mitchell who has it all to prove. To suggest that 95% of British fans thought that Murray would beat SuperKev just shows how little you know about British boxing fans. When he starts to take the sport more seriously there are plenty of UK fans who will support him. Until then trumpeting him like the second coming of Ken Buchanan is starting to sound a little hollow.
Beans, I once said that Kev is the most skilled euro fighter since Calzaghe and you disagreed so I asked you to list those names and you couldnt even do that.
And guess what? Those " 95% " of british fans who picked murray over mitchell were dead wrong... Smh
im one of the 5% who picked Mitchell so we all know whos more familiar with Kevin's style.
Check out the Saddoleague and youll see that im the only player who picked mitchell over murray.
yes beans, ive seen enough of kevin to have realized that he would upset murray..
Did you? Ok then.
This debate is getting very boring to b honest!Mitchell is a gd fighter that has not fought any1 ov real quality. We will c how he goes this year but it all comes down to if he behaves himself and applies him self training wis!which he won't!if comes throw this warm up fight burns will beat him this year.
Mitchell is a good fighter, remember Burn's has been a champion, at two different weight's if we are
honest Mitchell has it to prove himself,Burn's beat two fighter's that most people on the forum, gave
him any chance in beating them.? You must say he did prove you wrong,Mitchell had his shot at Kat's
but fell well short. Credit were credit is due to Burn's, so before you back Mitchell think long and hard
you could be wrong again.?;)
Ok if that's your opinion then that is your opinion and you are welcome to it. It seems we are talking about two separate things. You are clearly talking about unrealised potential and what you call natural talent, and I am talking about real recognised, definable achievements, which in my opinion is much less like conjecture and has been to date, the way boxers are rated at all levels of the sport.
You may think him the most skilled euro fighter since Calzaghe but I will judge that one after seeing him in with better competition. He did well early in his career and then after losing to Katsidis seemed to bounce back well and outboxed and outfought a gutsy brawler in John Murray, but he has of yet to prove that natural ability against top opposition. Before Murray and Katsidis other than Prescott he has not been massively tested. I really hope he goes on to fulfil his potential because he really does have a lot in his locker, after Walsh v Appleby I thought his fight with Murray the most entertaining British fight of the year. He is very gifted and while not quite carrying the stopping power he had at Super-featherweight can still bang a bit to compliment his boxing prowess.
I just cannot so easily dismiss fighters like Darren Barker, Kell Brook, Matthew Macklin, Nathan Cleverly, George Groves, Scott Quigg etc if we are talking about skills and potential and Fighters like Froch, Khan and yes Burns if we are talking as the OP thread title suggests about the best of British.
I could not pick a winner pre Mitchell- Murray but the point I was making was that a lot of British fight fans did rate Mitchell's chances even though he was so soundly beaten by Katsidis, certainly more than 5%.
