Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Does Hatton hug his way to another ugly victory or does Marcos beat his ass?

Hatton nice left hook to the rib's.!;D

Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Hatton would win and relatively easily.
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Hatton ko no problem
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Hatton would stop Maidana with body shots around the 4th, it could be a all out war or Hatton could do it abit easyer if he boxed him and then he would stop Maidana in the later rounds(Hatton could box when he chose to mostly in his younger days on the way up) But he still had it in his locker if he needed.
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
I can't see how everyone thinks Hatton destroys Maidana. Maidana is one tough fighter. Altough I think Prime Hatton wins a decision , it would be a pretty damn risky fight . Maidana would be a live dog
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Nope, Maidana for me - Hatton's chin didn't randomly get suspect. It has always been. Now let's not mince words..Hatton WOULD get hit by Maidana. To the face and body. (His body resistance wasn't great either..Kostya put him down which Paris conveniently ruled a low blow) Maidana hits hard and I doubt Hatton's punch resistance would take too many flush shots off of him.
If Hatton doesn't get knocked out he wins. I don't see Maidana getting knocked out..He's one of those fighters that is always down but get's straight back up and comes for you.
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Shot, drunk, washed up or drugged out I can't ever picture Maidana getting knocked out by no bouncer.
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Maidana is always a game fighter, and a very tough dude. I can see him pulling off the win here, as well.
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
I think Hatton would take a tight decision in a war. But he'd be walking on eggshells the whole fight. If Maidana caught him clean that'd be it!
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
I think some of you guys are dramatically overrating Maidana's power and perhaps underrating Hatton's.
Maidana couldn't put a dent in an old, worn Morales and couldn't even put Khan down after he hit him with dozens of shots. He also has zero defense and while he has a good chin he has been hurt by Ortiz, Khan, and Morales.
Hatton would take some damage, but Maidana would take much, much more.

Take out Tszyu & I think Maidana is much better & more difficult than anyone Hatton beat at 140, I see Hatton having a difficult night
-
I agree hatton wins.
He brings a lot of pressure, many folded under his come forward style

Agreed, regarding Maidana, if Khan can put him down in the 1st round with a left body shot, what on earth would Hatton do to him !?! The kid would be pissing blood for a week after !
Hatton KO 4-5rd
-
A prime Hatton beats, Madiana, Khan, Peterson or Bradley. The bitter ness shown by so many against a retired fighter who beat everyone put in front of him bar the two p4p best boxers in the world at the time is a bit weird. There are sour grapes and there is irrational hatred. What are people trying to prove by dismantling the reputation of someone who didn't quite make it at the top. He fought his balls off and while maybe overestimating his own abilities a bit was never particularly arrogant or gobby.
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Hatton would win, if he did not stop him with body shots he would decide to out box him and win a comfortable position.
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Somehow, I do see Hatton winning this one while in his prime and where his body wasn't crucially smothered by excessive eating and drinking habits.
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Would maidana had have beaten tzu?
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Prime Hatton had a chin and could take a punch. He would be too quick in and our of range and the body shots would have won him the fight
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Prime Hatton beat slightly past his prime Kostya Tszyu which is still better than Maidana. In his prime Hatton would destroy Maidana. Hatton's losses came from the 2 very best fighters of this generation, not the likes of Maidana.

No chance Tszyu prime would batter Maidana as he did Gonzales from pillar to post.

Morales has a good chin, and Khan did well at being particularly slippery on the ropes. While I agree that Maidana's power is overrated, but his punch is still pretty good.
The one point I'm making is that Maidana is a warrior in the ring, and I don't imagine anybody having an easy fight with the guy. His determination makes victory possible.

To flip the script a little bit..Does Hatton beat Ortiz? I say no. Ortiz's speed and power would have had Hatton out of there imo

How is that flipping the script, that is just the same old predictable, "let's all have a go a great British fighter who did more for British Boxing in his career than most, now that he has no way of proving me wrong". Ortiz? Tailor made for Ricky. Hatton's footwork alone would tie him in knots. Hatton had a ton of heart and was more than capable of stopping far greater fighters than Ortiz.

Hatton makes Ortiz squeal like a girl at 140lb and welter if may have been a different story however.
-
Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
Ortiz would have been a much tougher fight for Hatton than Maidana. He has a ton of power, he can box a little bit, and he's a southpaw. He was also a very big 140 lb'er.
I can easily envision Ortiz stopping Hatton.

Maidana beat Ortiz at this weight.

That means very little. It's all about styles. Hatton would be able to avoid or at least see Maidana's slow, looping punches. Ortiz has perhaps more power and much better technique. He's also a southpaw.
I also think Ortiz would starch Khan (and have said so even after Ortiz lost to Maidana) and he also beat Maidana.

Khan will smash Ortiz if they meet at welter, remember it is all about styles. :)

Yup, I co-sign that. Ortiz starches both fighters for me. He's a complete tit but I think he learned from that Maidana fight and post-maidna Ortiz whacks both Khan and Hatton

What you crying and getting emotional for? Relax yourself. What you wrote within your quote marks makes you look like a complete fool. So somebody can ask if Maidana beats Tsyu but I "flip the script" and ask if Hatton beats Ortiz and am an automatic "brit hater"? Haha you lot get so butthurt about Brits not being blind patriots it's unbelievable. They're both common opponents - hence my question is completely relevant and food for thought.
Stop being a bitch

Re: Prime Hatton VS Maidana
hatton is too fast with his punches , his feet and workrate...maidana gets kayoed with bodyshot in 8

Yea, if he had fought in Argentina with the referee in his pocket just as Hatton did.
Sure, Maidana could have beaten an over the hill Tszyu under those circumstances.

1.Respect your elders
2.Do you refer to everyone you meet in England as "you lot"? If so it would explain a lot
3. With the gheyest name on here and certainly the most laughable
Avatar pic you probably shouldn't be feigning maturity.
4. The threads OP concerned Madiana and Hatton, not what average run of the mill fighter could beat him.
5. You are an irrelevance.
6. Are you still here?
7.What is your problem with British people being patriotic?
8. Are there any British fighters you respect? Or is it only boxers from the great Pantheon of Turkish greats?
9.What are you going to be when you grow up?
10.I give up and defer to your greater boxing knowledge as demonstrated by your ridiculous assertions.

Fell asleep at 1. Woke up again at 10 to see if you had anything of substance to say..you didn't.
P.S There's a lesson here kids. Do not try and point out someones grammatical errors when you don't even know the difference between there/their/they're. *face in palm*
