Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
It's a career defining fight for Amir Khan, if he loses he will find it very difficult to get US promoters interested in him for a long time. It means two years back in the UK rebuilding.
I reckon it's make or break time for Amir Khan.

Well what happen to Peterson vs JMM?
-
Hope Peterson can do it again and prove Khan was just being a pure bitch by tring to rain on his parade. Peterson seems like a good guy and he had Khans number. Khan is gonna be on his bike bigtime in this fight..he won't wanna get bullied into the ropes if he's learnt anything from their previous fight

Who cares -- this is the fight that should be happening. I'm no fan of Kahn but the first fight would have been his if not for the questionable point deductions. And it was a close, competitive fight either way -- definitely worth a rematch.
JMM should fight Guerrero or, better, Rios.

IMO Peterson won the fight clearly regardless of the lame deductions and bullshit KD

Agree, glad rematch is on. Thinking if Khan keeps his cool and boxes he can get a pull it off. But I dont think that heffer Rios has done a thing to earn JMMs caliber and or name as a marque match.

Also happy to see this rematch, as for Marquez his best option now imo is Rios. Possibly Guerrero, other than that what other options does he have?

Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
Yea, glad to see Khan get a chance at the rematch. The fight should of been in Vegas in the first place. At least this time the should be no excuses from the Khan camp after the result. Been held at a nuetral venue, with hopefully a more competant ref and judges.

Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
Peterson shouldnt have given him the rematch. Not because he is scared to lose, but because how Khan treated others who in my opinion beat Khan and got robbed AND NEVER GOT A REMATCH!!! karma would have been perfect for this, but that rematch dodging prick will get his chance. I just hope Peterson beats his ass! by KO this time!!!

Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
All Amir has to do is box and use the ring and he'll piss it :)

Definitely worth the rematch. IMO, very close fight. Point deduction and a bad knock down call on the ref part. VERY CLOSE FIGHT!!! But IMO, JMM vs Peterson would be a better fight. With KO written all over it. Not to mention, a bigger reward if Peterson defeat JMM as oppose to beating Khan twice. This is a business too!!!
If this is true, Rios would be the best fight to be made for Rios. Other then that, its no one I would want to see JMM fight. NOt Guerrero for sure.
BTW, hopefully they both learned something from the first fight. Khan outboxed him in the middle of the ring. Peterson bullied him. They both have to do more work then what they did in the first fight. But the thing is, only 1 of their gameplans is going to work.

Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
Don't really care to see the rematch actually. :-\
And I don't know why they are going to have the fight in Vegas, Kahn is not a draw there.
I read that they are looking to put together a fight between Humberto Soto and Lucas Matthysse on this card. Now that's a fight I'm excited to see. I think it will be a better fight than Peterson/Kahn.

Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
It's a good fight. I'm not sure I would have taken it were I Peterson. He has a win over a p4p guy in Khan. You can lament that the fight should have gone Khan's way, and I had Khan winning slightly too, but it was a close one, and no way a robbery. Peterson earned it. He could have taken it and fought Marquez, a future Hall of Famer. He may never get the chance to test himself against someone of Marquez's level again. Instead, if he loses here, doesn't his hype decrease? He still could have fought Khan after a fight with Marquez if he lost. I imagine the offer for Khan was just much more financially lucrative.

Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
Not that i'm a fan of Peterson, but I hope Khan loses again. I look forward to it. :thumb:

Looking forward to this rematch, big fight for Amir just hope he's more focused this time round and he could stop Peterson. I go for Khan by late stoppage.

I don't see him going back to 135 yet again. I see the total opposite with Marquez having been a live possibility for a Bradley, Peterson vs Khan etc and a Manny who he just went even up with if not beat. He'll wait for dust to settle or count on Rios bringing something to the table other than a big push and irritating laugh ;D. Marquez is the great here. Rios is in a bit of limbo sleepwalking through last go and needs a big scalp in a bad way. Either knuckle down and make 135 which I don't think he can do or at least have a go at 140-147 ish, at least officially anyway.

No need to go back to 135 for those fights. Rios can't legitimately make that weight anymore and Guerrero clearly has no attachment to it either, given his calling out of Floyd and then Ortiz at 147.
And +1 on Rios's laugh. You have to admit it would be fun to watch him get hit with flush counter after flush counter by JMM.

Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
Khan should win it this time and probably the reason why he has paid a kings ransom to secure the rematch.
-
Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
It will be a close fight again but I lean slightly towards Khan to take it 115-113. Peterson will make a real fight of it though and I wouldn't be surprised if he won.

Re: Khan v Peterson II....19th May....mandalay bay Las Vegas
I like how Peterson handled the decision. He didn't take any of Khan's lowly deals and planned out other options as well.
Truth of the matter is, when Khan lost the decision, he didn't spend any time considering how he could have fought differently in that ring. He whined like a woman. Peterson is smart enough to plan this one out.
Khan isn't going to learn again until he gets beaten severely like he did against Prescott. His ego is too big for his own good.

Just to note, I read that he has been working a lot on fighting on the inside and getting out of the inside if he is bad position while there.

Maybe it is because Prescott cannot put two wins together?
-
If khan looses this fight it will really set him back.
Khan would have won if it werent for the point deductions.
Khans wins by boxing more and better defense on the inside.
-
Peterson wins by applying more pressure, maintain endurance and improve defense.

Sure, that happened later but not quickly jump for a rematch right after the fight the same way he did with Peterson? After the Prescott fight he didn't seem too eager for a rematch.

Khan won't be so daft this time will be on his bike and box him from 1st round till 12 th will win easy this time will never knock him out thou !!!

Completely different scenarios, one he was knocked out cold, in the other he feels like he was robbed...
