Didn't score it round by round but definitely felt Campillo schooled him.
116-111 Campillo. He was literally hitting him from all angles and in no way can the kd's make up the gap....David robertson needs to fired for incompetence.
Im way behind on my boxing didn't even know Tavoris Cloud was fighting, gonna watch this one soon and do a RBR scorecard and post it up here.
I think we already have a favourite to get robbery of the year award.
1 Cloud 10-7
2 Campillo 10-9
3 Campillo 10-9
4 Cloud 10-9
5 Campillo 10-9
6 Cloud 10-9
7 Campillo 10-9
8 Campillo 10-9
9 Campillo 10-9
10 Campillo 10-9
11 Cloud 10-9
12 Cloud 10-9
113-113 Draw.
My opinion doesn't seem popular but IMO, the rounds Campillo won he dominated no question. But there was a few rounds he took his foot off the gas. And allowed it to still be semi close, i thought Campillo had a comfortable lead going into the last 2 rounds. Then crazily he starts showboating allowing Cloud to edge his way back into it.
Campillo won the 1st half of the 11th round, but then when the doctor checked Cloud's cut. That seemed to wake up Cloud and he went to work in the 2nd half of the round, and even stunned Campillo with a hard right hand, i think he edged a very close 11th round.
Then in the 12th round Cloud just steadily went to work, and just about outworked Campillo to win the round, who again showboated too much and didn't close the show.
As i said overall Campillo did win his rounds very convincingly, but he was floored x2 and he did allow Cloud to steal some rounds. There's no way Cloud won this fight i want to make that clear, but i did feel he stole enough rounds to just about earn a draw with the 3 point round early on.
116-111. Cloud only one the first round and round 6.
Even if you were really trying to give Cloud rounds, no way you can give him more than a couple more (honestly I don't even see the case for that -- the 11th was better for Cloud only because the previous ones had been so bad -- he didn't win it.)
All due respect to ICB, I don't see how you can possibly give R4 or R12 to Cloud. Especially 4.
This post is SPOT ON. Its like I wrote it. I saw every round exactly the same as ICB. 6-3 in clear rounds to Campillo with 3 up for grabs (4, 9 and 11).
As a result I feel the fair and just scores would have Campillo winning by 1 or 2 pts or have it a Draw.
The 8-4 Cloud card is as big a piece of BS as you will see however. Its plain cheating.
And there is no bias here. I had bets on Campillo Pts and the Draw cos I thought it would be a close 12 rounder. If I were bias clearly I would have had Campillo walking it like some have.
I scored it originally a draw even though Campillo was clearly the dominant fighter. It's about winning rounds though and I thought Cloud stole rounds just on activity. To be honest I want to rewatch it but I thought Cloud stole the 11th and Campillo took the 12th off and just coasted while Cloud stayed busy. Cloud still has real power, he really is a better version of Jeff Lacy.
I think the thing no one is talking about is how much bigger physically Campillo was then Cloud. I think that's what allowed Campillo to move Cloud straight back. I wonder if Cloud would ever consider 168. Either way, Cloud won't stay undefeated for too terribly long with all the movers in the division but he also has legitimate power in both hands and can beat anybody on any given night.
I would like to rewatch it though, watched it on stream which was actually really good quality but still a little sketchy. Sometimes I have crazy variances in how I score fights but either way Cloud got schooled and he might have stolen some close rounds. I felt pretty comfortable initially he won round 4, round 11 I thought he was losing but I think he also hurt Campillo in that round. Round 12, Cloud dug to the body well and was just a lot busier then Campillo but Campillo did land a couple combinations.
I don't know, if there were gift rounds to Cloud then it was 11 and 12 but it was on Campillo at that point to know what the deal was in that situation. Too bad.
9-3 Campillo. Really no other way to score it, pretty cut and dry domination from Campillo, the man won 9 rounds clearly. Felt he gave away the last round playing it safe, but other than that he absolutely schooled Cloud.
It was a pleasant surprise to see the unheralded Campillo may be the best light heavyweight in the world. From what I saw he is an expert boxer. Masterful.
9-3 campilo and the judge that had cloud dominating isn't even blind, or paid off but just mentally handicapped cause even a judge on the take surely would be embarassed to turn in a score like that.
a draw would be ok imo , but I had Campillo winning 114-112. That one judge who had it 116-110 (or so) for Cloud should be suspended or lose his license .
Strange, noone on here so far had Cloud winning more than 5 rounds. Yet with the scorecards the way they are even if there was only one knockdown Cloud still would have won by SD.
I have a little trouble with a draw.
Rounds 1, 4, 6, and 12, are the only rounds I can see being scored for Cloud.
CORRUPT MF'ing judges!!!
Campillo was excellent and is exactly what we need in boxing. a skilled gusty & tough warrior who will fight anybody! and he was robbed horribly. that poor guy. It's a goddamn disgrace to the sport.
However, I'd like to see him fight again soon! his combos were fast and accurate! his footwork good. and coming back from that first round was waaaay gutsy!
I used to like Cloud, but not now. What a douche!!! the shit he said after fight, and when asked about a rematch "we are gonna move up to bigger better things!" lol.
Cloud wasn't even close in 2012's ROBBERY OF THE YEAR.
P.S When is the next Campillo fight? :)
Campillo 114-112
I need to watch this fight. Judging on the way people have voted it looks like Cloud was lucky but I will see for myself.
I just watched a clip on youtube of the end of the fight. Judging by the crowds and judges reaction it looks like Campillo was robbed. Also a when the video finished you saw Dodgy Donn King behind Cloud with a smile on his face. That says it all for me. Still need to see the full fight though.
I watched the fight on a shitty stream, but here's the scores that I had.
RD1 - Cloud 10-7
RD2- Campillo 10-9
RD3- Campillo 10-9
RD4- Cloud 10-9
RD5- Campillo 10-9
RD6- Campillo 10-9 (although I'm probably wrong about this round, as it seems everybody else scored this round for Cloud. Probably going to have to rewatch round six.)
RD7- Campillo 10-9
RD8- Campillo 10-9
RD9- Campillo 10-9
RD10- Campillo 10-9
RD11- Campillo 10-9
RD12- Campillo 10-9
So, in total, my score ended up at 117-110 for Campillo.
I gave Cloud round One and Four, and you could've also given him the sixth and the eleventh. But that's the most I can see given to him. And that'll put him at 115-112 for Campillo.
Literally, I have not seen a single person score the fight for a Cloud victory. Even giving the guy a draw is a bit of a stretch.
Thanks for all your scores , i will add them to the blog today.
I had it 114-112 Campillio , i also think there were 2-3 rounds that could have went either way , the guy who posted on here about a draw had some great points.
I agree with Campillo by a couple of points. Only the first round made it relatively close. Cloud was completely outclassed.
After the knockdowns I thought cloud was going to lose but I'm not one of those judges and Campillo was surprisingly making cloud look like an amateur after the second round. He was so much quicker to the punch but that's only my opinion.
Well i have not seen the fight but i hear he let the last rounds kinda slip away. Thats not the best idea when you are not the home fighter and he was knocked down a few times in the first.
I would say Cloud won the 1st, 4th and 12th, the 11th an argument could be made, but overall Campillo controlled the round.
I'm really blown away that anyone could score that one a draw. The degree in depth between the two was just so huge, in gameplan, adjustments and sheer punching. I saw Cloud with zero plan B he played into Campillo hands pretty easily after a great start. Ring generalship, it's almost a cliche or a throw away phrase today but it was very fitting Sat. night. Campillo was a fool for showboating late on and his corner should have smacked the taste outta his mouth in the corner. Can see judges being swayed with that at times in a Champions home turf etc. Regardless he fought a complete fight using feet and killer combos as total package. You'll never doubt Clouds fierceness but he literally looked dizzy in there at times.
I agree completely. You have to give Cloud FIVE ROUNDS to score it a draw. I only gave him two and I honestly believe that's all he deserved but I don't see any way you could possibly give him more than four. What people are labeling as "close" rounds (like 11 and 12) in my opinion were actually clear Campillo rounds that people are seeing as close only because they were somewhat less dominant than others. That's very different from them being close or Cloud actually winning them.
Think you nailed it on 11 and 12. He def eased but maintained control, even with Cloud blowing up after cut check. Fights evolve. The show boating sticks with me, it may be a flaw but at times I'm almost tempted to take a round for it. Cloud pressed hard but with little imagination, he was just pounding sand.
1 - Cloud 10-7
2- Campillo 10-9
3- Campillo 10-9
4- Cloud 10-9
5- Campillo 10-9
6- Cloud 10-9
7- Campillo 10-9
8- Campillo 10-9
9- Campillo 10-9
10- Campillo 10-9
11- Campillo 10-9
12- Campillo 10-9 close round
So it’s 115 to 111 for Campillo ; even if I score the last one for Cloud it’s still 114-112 in favor of Campillo.
This is a typical case of a robbery for me; no way can I give more than four rounds to Cloud.
