Vitali wants to knock him out. I figure we might as well let him have another go at it.
1. I think the primary reason for this is to drive Haye crazy, threatening to take away both of Haye's potential opponents (himself and Chisora) in one shot.
2. He fought the whole fight one-handed with a shoulder injury and some people thought it was close (if 8-4 is close) and that he's gotten old, so I think he'd like to try to prove otherwise with both hands against the same guy.
3. And it's not like there's any other great and deserving opponent out there in this weak-ass division.
Vitali would have to leave his beloved Germany though, carnt see them wanting Del-Boy back after his visit :-\
It would push Haye's nose out of joint, but to be fair, if that fight was gonna happen, i feel it would of by now.
Also Haye fought the whole fight with Wlad with a broken toe, which is worse than a poorly shoulder surely :-X
Pathetic if true, Chisora was only chosen because he took the fight for peanuts.
I agree that there's zero need for a rematch, but honestly, who cares? It's not like we're missing out on some other all-time classic fight pitting Vitali against someone who would be competitive. Short of the brothers actually fighting each other, I can't think of a single championship fight that's competitive or intriguing
I think you might be right... I can only think of povetkin who isnt too bad but I think he and his trainer still dont want the klitschkos.. I'd like to see Solis back I think he has good talent and could be the best of the rest if he adjusts his attitude(and loses half his body weight :S).. I doubt either will happen this year though...
Povetkin is probably the 3rd best just now(apart from haye) he would be an acceptable name to beat..
I guess the klitschkos need american or british tv money though so it'll probably be haye or chisora next for vitali......
Yeah, I agree. I'd like to see Solis bring himself back up to the championship level to have a rematch with Vitali. The first match was disappointing.
I would not mind seeing Helenius or even Valuev, in there.
Didn't Valuev retire? That was the fight I always kind of wanted to see, but solely for the unique opportunity to see someone that huge potentially get KO'd. It's obviously not a remotely competitive fight.
Helenus couldn't even beat Chisora legitimately. Not sure why you think he'd be a more worthy competitor for Vitali.
Once Huck beats Povetkin he will be the next target. Unlike Povetkin Huck already wants the Klits so if he wins that fight could be made easily. He would get his ass kicked like everyone else but he would at least try to fight unlike most heavy weights that have fought the Klits already.
;D what a shit situation we have in the hws
Actually sod Del-boy, give Tyson Fury a shot !!
Yes agreed we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel if we are seeing possible rematches against fighters already beaten. The divison is a joke, think Eric44 could be next in line soon.
Whole episode planned by Warren, in an effort to avoid going skint. There is no such thing as bad publicity!
Clamour builds up (stoked by Warrens friends in the media) for a Chis versus Haye, fight takes place and a Klit fights the winner, encouraged by the opportunity of a warren fed bucket load of english fans dumb enough to follow it, just like the germans do.
And don't mention sanctioning bodies like the BBOC, they get a percentage of these big gates! Impartial or what!
World title boxing in its death throes.....
Overtaken and captured by media bollocks the same as everything else that we once took seriously in life.
We're all doomed!!!!!!
I think there are a couple of factors that have contributed to the downfall of the HW division. Any other weight class you have to make weight, which generally means training hard, which inevitably increases your ability, which leads to a depth of talent in the division. No upper weight limit for heavyweight, coupled with more appealing options for bigger fighters who are actually prepared to work on their skills means the heavyweight division has become the realm of the freakishly tall or the fat n sluggish. This leads to dull fights that the public don't want to pay to watch.
The massive rise in interest in the UFC in the states over recent years means a lot of fighters who might have been heavyweight boxers have gone the MMA route instead, and once there's no american world champion (or contenders), there's zero american interest and zero american money. How many people in the US would have paid to watch Kliltschko vs Chisora, or have even heard of Chisora? That's why the lower weight divisions are richer in talent these days. Welterweight is full of quality american fighters who probably wouldn't have been interested in MMA since they don't have the size, and the PPV dollars generated are huge so there's a lot more incentive for talented fighters to get into it.
So its come down to taking rematches with people just to knock them out?
