Then I look in "what are you listening to" thread and fuck me sideways does anyone listen to anything that's remotely entertaining and new and upbeat?

Aside from myself do any of you listen to any current Pop music or Alternative music? Or just music that's known by others aside from you and your jerking off club?
Anything that people might catch on the fucken radio by some weird coincedence.

I then go to the "new music thread" and oh fuck some of the same shit...
The last few pages of that thread completely ruined what was once a great thread.

I must say that I do live in ignorance of what is new when it comes to film, music, literature and so on these days. I just think that the past is so rich as the quality has been allowed to rise up and the shit be generally ignored and I like that. You can watch a film like '12 angry men' and it saves you having to bother with 'The grey' or a dozen other Hollywood by numbers films from today.

Sometimes something special and new comes along and I will make an effort to see or hear it, but generally speaking I am quite happy searching through old stuff that I haven't bothered with in the past. For instance, Dickens is ancient, but I had only read the well known books such as Oliver Twist and Great Expectations so am now going to read all the other books. It is old, but to me it is completely new. I am quite comfortable like that.

A film from the '60's, an album from the 70's or a book from the 1840's. If it is new to me then it is new. It doesn't need to be latest or hip. I have no radio, don't watch much TV and only get crappy action imports at the flicks and so I kind of make my own agenda as to what I need to be viewing or hearing.

A bit fuddy duddy, but that's just me.

I was glad to see that you only used 'aside from myself' 2 or 3 times ;D If your in the thread why not post. I vaguely remember turning the rap-hip hop thread into a ghost town lol...my bad :).

Wasting Light sucked. RHCP haven't put out a decent album since Califonication. Lasers was okay, it was very hit and miss, but I am a big fan of Lupe. I tried to get into Angles, but I've never really been a fan of the Strokes and I didn't like it. I haven't heard the other albums, but seeing as you like them I feel that it is safe to assume they suck.

And the last movie I saw in the theatre was Horrible Bosses. I actually wanted to go to a movie the other day, but the theatre closed.

And a guy who wears skinny jeans and 80's ties shouldn't be calling anyone else a hipster ;)
