Juanma Lopez is going to beat Salido in a rematch.. It's a guarantee
This whole time Ive been thinking that Salido will knock him out again just as majority of the folks be thinking but then something hit me..
Based on our Boxing history and stats, there is no way that a superstar fighter is going to lose to the same limited opponent, 2x, in his own backyard.. no way..
Salido knocking out Juanma last year was just a one time thing and it'll never happen again.. uh uh...
Who disagrees and why?

and given Salido's weak showing last time out against a nobody I wouldn't be shocked if Lopez avenged the loss

Re: Juanma Lopez is going to beat Salido in a rematch.. It's a guarantee
I don't think a guy who can really fight will ever be a guarantee for Lopez unless he really starts trying to box more, he had absolutely no business losing to Salido in the first place let alone getting beat up by that Mtawgwa fellow a few yeasrs back. Juanma really does have great physcal tools, I just suspect he is an idiot.

Giving prior and post Salido...has anyone seriously tagged Lopez a superstar?! I think its that highlight hype and getting away from basic game that got him ko'd in first place. That and he likes to eat out alot.

wouldn't call Lopez a hype job when he holds wins over Oquendo, Ponce De Leon, Penalosa, Luevano, Concepcion, and R. Marquez, stopping all of them
lets not forget how he blasted out Ponce De Leon effortlessly in the first, he went on to IMO beat Broner, and made Gamboa look relatively flat, Lopez has fallen in love with his power and relies on it too much but this doesn't take away the fact that he has extraordinary boxing ability and is a good counter puncher when he chooses to box, IMO a new corner and fighting away from PR would bring him back to form

Re: Juanma Lopez is going to beat Salido in a rematch.. It's a guarantee
Lopez could have just boxed his head off, but he decided to stand and fight classic fighting using your heart and not your brain. Salido tough SOB Lopez, is more than cape bull of beating him no macho
stuff this time.;)
-
The only way Lopez wins is if he ko's Salido inside 4....due to weight issues and believing in his own hype Lopez is a liabilty and probably will get stopped again...!!!
job biscuit (that is all)!!!
eh eh!!!

I couldn't agree more. He should move to the states for a few and train with someone new. It would do him well. On the other hand, he may come back newly dedicated in this next fight.

He no doubt has sound boxing ability but he sold it out for the hype of the ko punch. He was reading his own press clippings, packing on bad weight and that's why he went life and death with a guy who eats punches like pringles in Mtagwa. He got away from natural talent in some early cases and had it been fine tuned-stuck to early on maybe he doesn't fall vs Salido. What's done is done though. I think he's def got solid skill but he needs some regrounding and let it come natural.

Re: Juanma Lopez is going to beat Salido in a rematch.. It's a guarantee
Salido beating Lopez the first time was unexpected but hardly surprising. Club fighter Mtagwa and a crippled Marquez both had him out on his feet. So Lopez fall was only matter of time. Either way Lopez is the more skilled fighter and should pull out the victory. All he has to do is remain patient. Which is easier said than done for him. Based on his last fight against the chinless Mike Oliver it's obvious Lopez hasn't and probably wont ever change. While he should win, another loss wouldn't be a shock

Re: Juanma Lopez is going to beat Salido in a rematch.. It's a guarantee
Juanma got away from his boxing roots. I still think that string of 1st round KO's awhile back probably did him more harm than good. And fighting in Puerto Rico seems to be more of a liability for Lopez than an advantage. It's all up to Juanma, I think. He def has the tools to beat Salido. It just depends on whether Juanma made the necessary adjustments after his loss. I'm betting and hoping that he did.

Re: Juanma Lopez is going to beat Salido in a rematch.. It's a guarantee
I think Lopez is a tad over hyped he is a good fighter though. Problem is he can not stick to a game plan and loves to eat shots. Also if he runs in to Gambo if he does win I think he gets smoked badly.

I think you were right the first time. matchup of styles, Lopez will always mentally be a fighter and Salido can take his punches better than Lopez can take his, Salido will forever be Lopez's foil.

Juanma just became a B-level fighter, while Concepcion became C-level. Shame.

Calling Concepción C-level is giving him to much credit.

Do not worry about it, at least you had the courage to go with your prediction. Everyone has made a wrong prediction sometime in the sport. And I mean everyone.

Salido is not a boxer nor is he good at it, he just wants to brawl. If a boxer gets beat by a brawler he isn't a good boxer. Lopez will never beat Salido for the fact that he isn't great, and the fact that he is to weak minded.

Not that this post is really worth responding to; it's just that Lopez didn't box for 5 seconds against Salido, he always trys to brawl but can't take near what he dishes out. Great pure boxers have often lost to brawler/swarming types with much inferior technique, but that doesn't really apply to Lopez or Salido.

Re: Juanma Lopez is going to beat Salido in a rematch.. It's a guarantee
Does Salido take over Chris John's spot at number one featherweight now? Salido has faced tougher competition over their last 15 fights. Salido has beat better opponents in that span. In fact, John is facing a less tough opponent than Daud Yordan on the same card in their next fight!

Your right but he did try to box him for the first 5 rounds or so, and still wasn't being successful. He just didn't look as good trying to counter and get away since he wasn't.
