Ricky Burns vs Kevin Mitchell...who wins??

Hi,im really looking forward to this mouth watering match up between Mitchell vs Burns if Burns comes up trumps in his next up and coming bout first.Like both boxers a lot.Mitchell has finally sorted his life out and boxing great in his last couple of fights after being out the ring for 18 months due to personal issues and injury.Im really liking Burns a lot more too,he looks great at his new weight,he looks a stronger more rounded fighter.Think his fight will be a really close call,i have it 50/50,cant part them.Who do you think will win and how??

A fully focussed (not pissed) and prepared Mitchell would be too much for Burns imo. However anything less than that and Burns would win

i would agree with H, i think mitchell is good enough to box burns on his day, most likely outcome would be a UD

but mitchell could get pist the night before, then burns would have the advantage :)

You under ester-mate Burn's, on two occasion's he has beaten good world class fighter's, let's say the
old egg on the face for them that doubt him.!
Mitchell has faulted in his career, with very poor discipline Burn's on the other hand lives the life, in this
fight I go for Burn's he may be a steady Eddie, as I have said before I like both fighter's but Mitchell is
to unreliable it's his life style old habit's die hard my friends.;)

I'd favor Kevin... But he's too hot & cold for my likings.

Burns would pour his heart out trying and when your determined you can accomplish it all.


Final verdict: Burns by SD.

Love Kevin's style of fighting - He doesn't have that "pub brawl", straight-up, gloves-up style that a lot of Brits have. Kevin has a lot more finesse and I always appreciate that style more. David Price is another one who is on another level to most of the domestics in terms of boxing skill and finesse.

But dedication is his problem as has been mentioned..I met him once actually and he was a thoroughly nice guy. He knew my friend who used to box at his gym and he shook my hand without even knowing who I was just because I was standing next to him. This meeting took place in, surprise surprise, Faces nightclub after the Katsidis fight and he was, as you can imagine, thoroughly intoxicated ;D

Burns has looks good since winning that title and seems to try his best in every fight, Mitchell Looked like crap winning last time out but is obviously more skilled his win over Murray was really good as well.


Form has to count for something and so I go for Ricky in an amazing fight.

burns has looked sturdier and stronger at 135 than 130. he seems to have grown as a fighter as well over the last few years.

Burns vs Mitchell-i would take Burns but wouldn't want to wager anything on it.

How many international level belt holding fighters does Ricky have to fight and convincingly beat to no longer be a B level, domestic fighter?

My bet would be Mitchell because he is a world class fighter on his day such as when he beat the unbeaten Murray or Johannson. Also Burns lost to Alex Arthur, whilst it was a long time ago when he could say he was inexperienced, I got the impression that a world class fighter can beat Burns, which is what Kevin is.

Mitchell is a potential world class fighter, whereas Burns has improved enough to win and defend at world level. If Kevin can not get his head right, he is not a world class fighter. I have always admired his skills, and as an Englishman nothing would make me prouder than seeing him fulfil his potential, but the fact is Burns is already fighting at a level that Kevin has not proved himself at, and while it may not last forever, it strikes me as churlish how so many people are willing to dismiss his real achievements in favour of bigging up a fighter who has yet to match him.

Burns is not even on the level of Scott Harrison.. Dude couldn't even spit shine Harrison's shoes..

I disagree Mitchell had his chance, and got his clock cleaned, who would you say's got the better
chin it has to be Burn's. You could be thinking Mitchell,is back on the straight and narrow weather
he is or not them old bad habit's are hard to let go. Good fighter's have discipline and live the life

Great Match up. Not sure how in shape Mitchell will be mentally and Physically come fight night. He will need to be 100% to beat Burns.

I have not seen that 24/7 type interview on Box nation yet. Looks phony.

Burns has improved each time out but I suspect Kev points the hell out of him to a clear cut ud.
