Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
I was just wondering do anyone really care? I always like Judah but he could never get over the hump. And although the Cory Spinks win was a good win, I don't consider that over the hump. Saying that, Judah, a focus Judah, can scare so 140lbers.
Any thoughts?
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Such a tough call, @Ant Live, on the one hand, Zab's performance against Khan was not a good look, on the other hand, Paris's best win is against Tim Coleman, who was horrible against Holt last week. After seeing Zab lose against Matthysse (my opinion) and Khan, I have a tough time picking him. Yet, maybe this is too big a step up for Paris. I'm on the fence.
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Judah's performance against Khan was lame, he is done and dusted!
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
By all rights Zab Judah SHOULD win this fight without too much trouble. But, its Zab Judah after all so he could very well find a way to fuck it up somehow and lose.
I'll tentatively go with Judah to win in mid to late rounds by left uppercut OR decision.
Paris is a young hungry guy with some skills, but he's jumping in the deep end without much preperation.
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Awesome that this is on NBC! Zab is what he is at this point...a fast talker and flashy for 3,4 rounds but fades bad, cuts easily and resorts to loading up with telegraghed bombs. I don't think he's going anywhere now. Actually looking forward to co main in Liakhovich vs pretty green but willing Bryant Jennings. Good crossroads go, good exposure for young heavy.
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Paris by late stoppage!
I'd like to see Jennings be impressive..
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Never been impressed with Paris. His best win was against Coleman who got lit up by Holt. He struggled with Juan Santiago(now 13-8-1) on Shobox a few years ago and according to some ringside observers(Dan Rafael) was lucky to get the nod against an ancient Emanuel Augustus. Also barely beat Courtney Burton by 1 & 2 points on the cards. And that was a 2010 Courtney Burton :-X
Judah...in his hometown and on his promoter's card should win but you never know with Zab. As Hulk said he could find a way to fuck up and lose.
Prediction Judah by mid round KO or by UD
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Paris used to have a lot of outside the ring distractions, if he's focused he should win imo
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Looks like they are airing head to head with a triple header vs HBO and El gordo Morales ??? Might be some running from room to room here ;D
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Judah pitching a shutout IMO.
Round 7 coming up.
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Too much speed and experience for Judah. I also have him pitching a shut out, and at this pace I'd be surprised if Vernon made it to the 12th.
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Judah stopped him at the beginning of round 9
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Judah looked fantastic, although it should be tempered with everytime he hit Paris, Paris hit himself too.
This could be the best thing to happen to Paris in the ring honestly, if he focuses and trains hard, he still has a decent future.
I'm shocked Judah still has the speed he has.

Yes Judah looked tremendous, its the best I've seen him look since he blitzed Cosme Rivera several years ago.
Paris was too SLOW and had no clue how to fight a left hander, let alone a motivated in shape Zab Judah.
Funny I think Judah could beat Lamont Peterson, but I don't see him having much of a shot against Khan in a rematch like at all.
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Zab should keep his uncle as his head trainer. I thought it was the best he's looked in a while.
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
He looked good and put punches together well. But in fairness Paris looked totally clueless and like he wanted to be somewhere else, at times literally covering up and almost turning. I want to see how Judah maintains when a sturdy and studied offense is coming back at him. I still pick both Peterson and Khan over him.
I was equally if not more impressed with him in that pre fight hr feature and post fight interview. Zab is no longer that shit talking man child. He sounds like he's seriously matured and professional and understands that --finally-- this could be his last run and is fully focused. You can't erase the physical wear and tear but mentally he sounds 100%.

Paris could come back a much better fighter from this, you could see from the tears in his eyes, he knows he has to change. To be fair to Paris as well his prefight statements about Judah falling apart later in the fight weren't without historical precedent.

I agree Paris could improve from this loss, but it seemed like he hadn't trained at all to fight a southpaw...
Judah looked fierce
Re: Any Thoughts Of Judah vs Paris?
Paris was in way over his head. And that doesn't bode well for his future considering he was in way over his head against a shot Judah
