Zab judah..retire on a win?
What is zabs next move?
His stamina has always let him down but he still has his speed and reflexes.
Should he retire on a win and call it day?
I like zab and he has taken alot of punishment in the squared circle..what should he really do?

I think he should fight Paul mccloskey

Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
It was an eliminator, might as well take the payday against Peterson/Khan win or lose anyway. According to Judah, God's will be done.
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
funny that zab won his fight and there's a thread suggesting retirement.
meanwhile morales gets destroyed and no mention.
-
Morales is the new holyfield thats why. Love to watch judah fight but only for the first 6 rounds. He should call it a day and retire after a win.
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
I think he still has a few in him, there's alot of fights out there for him.
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
Fighters seldom go out on a win. Zab Judah certainly won't.
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
I thought he actually looked as good as could be expected, granted Parris had nothing on his level. No reason he shouldn't fight on really though, the guy is still fast and can be in some good matchups.
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
Zab vs Danny Garcia!!!
If not, then he should hold out for the winner of Peterson vs Khan 2.
Whatever he do, he shouldn't wait. Stay active. Possibe get a match with Pacman if he can keep his name relavent.
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
BTW, I'll rather see Zab fight JMM after JMM take care of Cesar Rene Cuenca for the WBO title. Then we have Rios. High risk/Low reward.
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
Boxers like Zab will never retire on top, fighters like him always want to go that extra bit further. Zab cannot compete with the elite of boxing no more but he can beat the lower tier fighters and earn some money and titles.
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
I think he should hang around for a bit
I wouldn't mind seeing him face Alvarado

why would anyone want to see Judah get his ass kicked by Khan again? and why the hell would Pacquiao take him on?

Yeah I think he beats Garcia.
I know Holts not really relevant anymore but I wouldn't mind seeing them fight. I think Guzmans too good for Judah...

If for nothing else, MONEY!!! But u right. Zab vs Khan will end up being the same fight all over again. But Zab pack a punch and we know Khan has been rocked a few times. Zab vs Pacman is in the cards. Believe me when I tell you. Hopefully Zab can fight maybe August, and hold a title. Roach was commentating when Zab fought. Saying he saw flaws in Judah. And we all know Freddie wants Pacman to fight fighters he's almost certain he will win.

Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
Zab has still 4-5 good fights in him. I could see him winning against Maidana using speed and movement to nullify Maidana's power advantage.

but i can see Maidana just as easily pressuring him and wearing him down in the later rounds

Yeah I think Maidana would wear Judah down.
I think Judah/ Guzman is a great cross roads fight. But too risky for Judah to take

I would like that one a lot as well, just can't call it quite a crossroads fight imo. Guzman cant afford to lose any more than Judah can and isn't all that much fresher. Bill that matchup "Heres my talent, I don't want it!", two of the most frustrating fighters of our time really.

I think it's the epitimy of a crossroads fight... Winner continues, the loser is all but done. But your right about both guys having frustrating careers. I'd have Guzman on the cards maybe late ko, but I really like this new mature Judah
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
Yea fair enough, I generally think of a crossroads fight as two guys going in opposite directions is all.
I do agree with you that Guzman probably wins if it happens, he is the smarter fighter by a mile and still looked in good form his last fight. Both men are actually still surprisingly fast and match up very well; I can't however see Zab having a better gameplan, which he would need to. He appeared to have matured in that fight against Mabuza as well as far as his attitude, but it doesn't seem to mean anything when he really has to fight:-\

Guzman wouldn't make weight ;)
-
Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
Haha there's that to, it's not as if Guzman will actually land a big fight anyways though. Nevermind the revolting risk/reward involved; theres every chance the guy wouldn't even make it to the ring, he is a promoters dream!

Your probably right.
He's been hanging in there so far, just nearly though. I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Re: Zab judah..retire on a win?
To bad Morales might call it a day because I think that those 2 would be a war while it lasted. And Zab will be around for a while mark my words. But Danny Garcia would be an ideal opponent for him and I think Nate Campbell would be a nice little scrap also.

are you serious? Nate is around getting his ass kicked by guys who aren't even journeymen, how the hell would that be a fun fight?

Yes I'm serious and why not? Nate is 1 of those like Zab who can pull off an upset against anyone if not taken seriously. Good trash talker, decent power and has sloppy losses like Judah. Perfect undercard fight for a big event.

zab judah was an underachieving A level fighter.
nate campbell at his best was an overachieving C+ level fighter.
they are not a good match up.

Campbell is finished though, and he hasn't fought anyone upper class in 10 years to begin with. Cayo isn't very good and Campbell landed a hail mary to turn that around, Judah would just stop him easily.

Yeah thats the thing, Campbell was getting owned until he landed that big punch. He ain't got shutting left imo
I hear Guzman is targeting him, which I'm disappointed about. But beating Campbell might get Guzman a nice ranking, which could see him back in the mix

no, no he can't, he beat Cayo who's mediocre fighter at best, Nate is done and Zab would destroy him effortlessly, stupid pointless fight

I agree with you
But Campbell is going to be there the whole way & may frustrate Judah down the stretch. We all know Judahs not mr consistancy
Can't see it happening though

Campbell is def over the hill, smaller and slower than Judah. But, thats bullshit a C+ fighter my ass. He beat Casamayor and got robbed, he smoked Kid Diamond and he dominated Juan Diaz. He was WORLD CHAMP. Jesus, no one is any good according to your standards ;D
