Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
Cloud vs Pascal: Fight Set For August 11 in Quebec, Showtime Televising - Bad Left Hook
I'm adding a poll.
I know people are down on Cloud after his last fight but I think he'll rise to the occasion and stop Pascal in the late rounds when he fades.

Re: Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
This is a tough call really, Cloud can gas a bit. Pascal although skilled has a bad habit of being a pattern fighter. I picked Pascal Dec. on the poll, but I think Cloud could get to him early.

Re: Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
I just havce to believe Pascal learned something after his lose.
Pascal by KO rd 8

Re: Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
Cloud by TKO 6
Tavoris puts the pressure on early, lands good clean shots (taking some in return), and wears Pascal down.
This fight could easily be fight of the year, I love the style matchup

Re: Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
I go for Pascal he could out box Cloud easily, but he will make it into brawl Cloud can brawl but he has
no finesse. I no you love the guy Lyle, but he is just a brawler and if you are honest with yourself
he's very lucky to still have his title, he was well out boxed in his last fight.:)

Too funny Lyle, get outta here with that shit, yer boy Cloud is going to get schooled, and lose his title by a decison in 'Canada'.

I can see either guy winning. One thing I do not see is Pascal outboxing Cloud. He might outpunch him.
Pascal doesn't box. A guy that boxes: moves, uses the jab, mixes in different punches, moves, avoids punches, etc...
Pascal has bursts of punches then he stops. He hopes and prays that his land and his opponent isn't going to land.
Cloud has a more constant workrate. I think if Pascal can't hurt Cloud early then Cloud wears Pascal down late.

Re: Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
I think Pascal will carve him up. I mean no offense to Cloud or his fans but Pascal could not ask for a better opponent to get back into the picture. He simply will not know how to deal with Pascal’s feints and angles. Post fight he will swear he was fighting a crowd. Always a chance for a hail Marry I suppose.

A lightning bolt will strike in the middle of the ring and Campillo will emerge and proceed to kick both their asses :P

Excellent post!
Pascal wins this by WIDE UD. Anyone know what the going Vegas odds are for this fight? I think Cloud has virtually no chance of winning. Dude is beyond overrated.

You're right about Pascal for sure, however I think he'll just have such an easy time both picking his spots and getting out of the way in this fight that he won't really need to be consistent. He is literally twice as fast as TahBoreUs Cloud, who can't box for shit either incidentally.

Re: Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
Hopefully they study the tape of the Campillo fight against Cloud if they wanna win.
However here is the thing, Pascal leaves himself open for punches a lot of the time and has a warriors mentality of he doesn't mind taking two to land one and is very aggressive. The thing is he is athletic enough and has enough ability that he could outbox Cloud, but he's probably gonna slug with him. Pascal has been more or less a one and done kind of fighter when it comes to his offense ever since that left shoulder injury. He was a guy that could use angles and fight from them, but more or less lately he's become a bullrusher. He CAN outbox Cloud as he's had the ability to outbox people before, but I don't think he will try to.

Re: Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
I like Pascal. Just more gears and has been in deeper. Cloud is an honest straight away guy but lacks imagination and adaptation. He really had the Lacy put to him last out and I think Pascal is shifty enough to survive early and land crisp late. Though a guy with, respectfully, Clouds simplicity and strength could not play into Pascals pacing and indeed force slugging, I just don't see it.

Re: Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
Different styles, different fight.....Cloud will KO Pascal. Don't let 1 fight where Cloud kind of slipped up skew your judgement. Pascal will come right at Cloud and Pascal doesn't have the chin to handle what will be thrown back at him.
Cloud KO 6

It's not one fight. It's him looking one-dimensional in every fight and finally getting exposed for it by a pretty good but non-elite opponent.
Also, a geriatric Yusef Mack is the only guy Cloud has stopped since 2008. Pascal has never been stopped. You can't be serious about KO 6.

Cloud IS one dimensional, I never said he wasn't. But Pascal ain't the "stick and move" kind of fighter either. Geriatric??? Yusaf Mack is only 32 now and he was 31 when Cloud stopped him. Zuniga got stopped at lower weights to Pavlik & Bute (not exactly slouches) and Cloud put him down twice. Clinton Woods KO'd 1 time by RJJ, Glenn Johnson stopped 1 time by Bernard Hopkins....so it's not as if Cloud has been fighting guys that just fall over and not stopping them. Cloud has fought durable opponents. So he struggled against Campillo (after putting him down twice), who's to say Cloud din't get a little happy and punch himself out?
Pascal meanwhile doesn't have heaps of power, hasn't stopped an opponent since 2009 (a guy that had been KO'd by the great Thomas Ulrich  ), and as for his chin well Hopkins had Pascal's glove touch the canvas twice, and the hardest puncher Pascal has fought is maybe Froch??? I don't know.
The way I see it is Pascal just waltzes in to Cloud's wheelhouse, Pascal won't take those punches well, and the fight will be stopped.....and then your precious Campillo can get his God damned rematch where SURPRISE Campillo will get beaten....and in the meantime Dawson & Ward will bore everyone to tears.
I hope you're fucking happy

I still disagree with you completely about Cloud but I LOVE this post. And touche on Mack -- I guess I just assumed he was old because the last time I saw him before Cloud was when he was getting sparked by an old Glen Johnson.
(I think Dawson probably hits harder than Froch btw, but agreed he's no monster.)

Pascal just has more tools in the shed imo

I think both these guys act dumber than a box if rocks in the ring at times. But maybe a case where Pascal can get away with far more mistakes and not pay heavy for it?? I can see that. Cloud isn't hard to find but he's def hard to deter and not one to fall over easily. Over confidence may also bite Pascal on the arse.

Re: Cloud vs Pascal - August 11 in Quebec
As we all know, this fight didn't happen because Pascal got injured. Apparently looking like it won't be rescheduled any time this year now: Lem's latest: Cloud, Pascal fight hitting snags | RingTV
