first up brandon gonzalez an okay prospect.
gonzalez is trained by andre ward's trainer, virgil hunter.
fight scheduled for 8 rounds. fighting outside in the sun.
wow this is horrible
ropes are loose
scoreboard or something (per teddy) is making an annoying and loud noise on a continual basis.
Hey Capt, I just started watching this.
cheers
ESPN's homeboy, Mike Dallas Jr. in the main.
June 22
At San Jacinto, Calif. (ESPN2/ESPN3): Michael Dallas Jr. vs. Javier Castro, 10 rounds, junior welterweights; Brandon Gonzalez vs. Elie Augustama, 8 rounds, super middleweights; Guy Robb vs. TBA, 8 rounds, junior lightweights.
dallas got stopped and then lost a split decision that was close and could have won.
He should be improving. He has virgil hunter training him (ward's sage trainer). if he can't box, sit down his punches more, and win tonight, then his career is in the shitter.
Everything is going good with me, business has been great lately. The East Texas summer is just starting to heat up, but this year's weather has been like paradise compared to last year, so no complaints from me.
In re: tomorrow nights fights, I figure just mute the sound, (haha) but the scraps should be worth watching. ;)
Good pick up Capt. Predicting someone falls through those ropes Hasim Rahman style before night over ;D It sound like they are fighting on top of a old slat bed or something.
Random,it may be more and more incumbent on big network and national 'TV' to tell shit casinos-venues and more so the state commissions get it right or you don't get air time in order to fix sport. Really up to promoter?
God I cannot wait for tomorrows action watching this 1st bout ;D
it is embarrasing that they let a bout go on with these conditions. the ropes are not set up properly. And that sound is horrible. national tv.
ruining friday night fights for me.
I want is a couple of okay fights every friday, professional tessitore, wacky teddy, and not stupid ropes, grating sounds.
not too much to ask.
as for tomorrow night. It is supposed to be on Showtime. What the heck is Showtime going to do with Tarver??? He is supposed to be an analyst for the fight after being announced today that he tested positive!!!!
they have to pull him for tomorrow. they have to.
Ortiz is a big looking welter.
when he fought berto he weighed 161 pounds. when he fought floyd I think it was 165.
that is normal fighting weight for a junior middle, not a welter.
What a shitty ring! You'd think they would pay more attention to the details for a nationally televised fight.
it is at least 2 shows a season where you have to shake your head at the commissions not having a good setup for national tv.
anyone from outside the US???? If so, would that happen? a small but nationally televised event with rings like spaghetti noodles and some sort of grating sound that reminds me of the beginning of once upon a time in the west.
june 29 provodnikov
always brings action. won't be boring next week.
I have nothing against bernard osuna. he is growing on me. But I still miss Brian Kenny in the studio. I understand Mr. Kenny got paid by MLB network, but everyone has something they were meant to do, and being the studio host for boxing is a talent that BK truly had.
So that's what happened with bk.I always wondered where he went.
dallas jr. 25 yrs old. 2 losses (1 disputed). if he wants to get himself into the fringe group just outside of the top 10 at 140, he has to put together some good performances.
BK is on MLB network.
He has done some boxing for top rank's website. He called the Pac vs bradley fight for them.
Max Kellerman-his best gig was in the studio with bk. him talking about matchups, up and coming prospects, lineal champs, throw in some boxing history. He was better at that than he is at being a fight analyst (not that I think he is bad at it).
if I were dallas I would try to box this guy and have him facing the sun as much as possible. I look out and see the sun staring at me for a second outside and it gets me. I can't imagine someone trying to rearrange my face with the sun coming right at me.
dallas is not a puncher by any measure, and he isn't facing a world beater, but Dallas does seem to be trying to throw punches with harsher intentions than he used to. He isn't pawing with the jab so much.
Dallas Jr vs Castro is a 12 rounder, we should see who has the best stamina, it's hot in the ring.
Both pugs cut from headbutts.
outside fights
-done well and it is a great change from the norm
-done poorly and it is a distraction and takes away from the fight.
sandusky guilty.
Sandusky found guilty on 45 charges, he'd better start stocking up on Vaseline.
dallas with a good stoppage.
will he be a world beater at 140? NO.
but he looks better than the guy who used to just pitty patter every punch with no harsh intentions.
Whoa, good job of finishing by Dallas Jr., who says he can't punch!
Lou Moret must be close to 80 years old, and still refin' fights.
I wish Tyson all the best, but I don't think i'll be going to Broadway anytime soon.
I think I am going to boxing hall of fame next year.
See everyone tomorrow night.
cheers
Good work Mars_ax.
I will see this later on ESPN today.
