Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
Tam im actually going to the bill to cover it for my fightscorecollector blog. Trying something new for teh blog , basically going to cover the whole bill. I managed to get a press pass also.
Regarding Harrison , i think his original opponent was perfect for him because he was a guy that was dureable...1 stoppage loss in 17 loses , Harrison needs rounds.
The new guy is very young so nobody knows how he will deal with this , i think if its an early KO then the fights not much use for Harrison as i think he must test his stamina , punch resistance etc etc.
Got to say though , its a big deal here up here in scotland...the appleby vs simpson fight should be a cracker though especially if its like their first fight.
In total there are 8-9 fights on bill
-
It sounds like a good Scottish card, I just think an 18 year old might be a bit too out of his depth with Harrison. But in saying that Harrison has been through a lot of shit and been out for so long , so you never know he could have Lost it. We will see, im routing for the 18 year old though cos I don't like Harrisons attitude.

Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
If this is on this weekend its got a chance of happening. Any longer my money is on Harrison getting caught shoplifting at Lidl and blowing it.

Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
I hope Scott wins this fight, he needs rounds and he needs to fight often to build his conditioning and confidence up and earn some money. Fighting someone undefeated is a risk, even at 18 years old. If Scott loses he should still carry on and put it down to a mis-calculation. Like Winky Wright did when he lost recently to an undefeated fighter.
-
Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
The number of mooted comebacks, second chances and promises of redemption from Harrison have been too numerous to mention, but we saw with Jason Booth the good that boxing can do for people who suffer such problems.
Not saying that it could work for Harrison, but if the discipline of boxing gets him back on the straight and narrow. As for his opposition, and eastern european with a 7-0 record could be great or terrible, or somewhere in between. I doubt that even Harrison has seen a video of the guy. I love the boxrec description of the Hungarian Super 4 final. After the fight was a draw after four rounds, they fight one more to find a winner!

Nothing says "I'm back!" like being arrested for shoplifting from and urinating on a convenience store front window at 2 a.m. There's no way this fucker ever keeps it together long enough to win a world title even if he somehow still has the ability.

Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
I'm getting some outstanding odds on Harrison getting arrested during the ring walk.

Very cruel. He is entitled to earn a living and is taking on the hardest job to earn it.

Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
Frankly, if his wife and kids have stuck by him from the start of his troubles, then they are a tolerant folk indeed. Even if he is an angel when he's not out on the piss, his alcohol problems are enough to make him a tough partner for anyone.

...sex phone operator?...
...Just think of Harrison as a sex phone operator for a minute...go on you know you want to...

I gave him a chance until Maloney and Warren both walked away from him. Since then he got blind drunk, went shoplifting in a convenience store at 2 a.m. and then pissed all over the convenience store front window. And that's what we know about. Now he's fighting on some small hall bill against an eighteen year old. He's never going to make his old weight again and that's the only reason he ever did anything, because he was a monstor for his weight. And add on how much his limited skills have degraded since he went on the piss/in prison for a few years. I think I'm on pretty safe ground not giving him a chance to do anything. I'll bet his wife and kids aren't speaking to him/restraining order etc. in a few years.

He gets a decent reception from the home fans as you'd expect, and this Hungarian looks way out of his depth. I reckon Harrison takes this by KO now they're both in the ring.
-
Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
Good first couple of rounds back for Harrison. First round was a few big shots and a couple of combos. Second round he puts Miszaev down three times, and each time with body shots.
Harrison isn't looking particularly fast, but is enthusiastic, and not long to go with this one.
-
Am surprised how good shape Harrison looks!ripped.guy he's fighting looks like pretty shit

Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
Fourth round KO from Harrison. Frankly, it was easy for him, and the opposition proved to be quite amateurish. Harrison made short work of him though, did plenty of work and didn't seem at all tired after four rounds of punching.
It's hard to judge whether or not he can get back to even British level fights, but it was a nice welcome back for him, and after his trouble the fans took to him well.
-
Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
Scott fairly emotional in his post fight interview. This guy will have made a lot of enemies and turned off a lot of fans over the years, but I for one hope he can turn things around.
-
Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
oh well that was a good wee fight there, although the young boy did look like he had no business in the ring I wonder if he can stay focused and go for another title.

Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
This Appleby-Simpson fight is a right little belter too. Appleby not doing too badly, but being caught a lot.

Good for Harrison. Sounds like it was a man vs.a boy.

34 vs 18....and a young looking 18 year old at that...it really was man against boy.
As for the wife and kids thing Master brought up, I'm not sure about that. Harrison was listing his thank you's and he mentioned his fiancee?
-
Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
Happy Scott won this. Now move on to a world title fight since 2005.

Re: Scott Harrison to fight 18 year old, 7-0
Give the guy credit. Would you have the mental strength to survive jail for a couple of years? NO, didn't think so.
So what he went on a drunken night, the newspaper blows it all out of proportion and you judge him on that, show's you are the sheep that is told what to believe. I'm sure if you were in jail you would like to get drunk would you not??
Bringing up his kid is just plain wrong, guess you aren't a father yourself so you have no idea. Shame on you!
On a boxing note it was good to see him back last night. The power looks to be there but as someone mentioned the speed is a bit off but im sure that's just ring rust. The guy was a superstar in the making, a few fights away from going over to the states and cleaning up. Remember he never actually lost his title in the ring and I believe he will win the WBO within 1 year (if he keeps the demons at bay).

Interesting how such scum gets a promoter. Does that tell anything about promoters in general?? ;D

How could he gets body like that on a diet of super tennants, I wonder if there was any testing done last night
