BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
I do not.
But considering this is a boxing forum there must be loads that have it, right?
The only two I know for certain are @Master and @Greenbeanz
(I'm betting the under at 7.5)

Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
I do and i would again
a tenner a month is next to nothing
infact i think i got 6 month for £50 quid, how about that
i am gonna watch appleby v simpson this weekend which will be nice
where are you watching haye v chiz?
-
Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
I subscribe, have done since the start.
As a boxing fan, assuming you can afford it, it's an essential purchase in my opinion.
-
Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
Eric.. this is not a thinly veiled "people that subscribe are mugs" thread. There is nothing wrong, stupid, muggy about people paying for what entertains them. I have bought a billion PPVs in my life.
I just want to know, considering this is a boxing forum, how many boxing "nerds" actually buy the dedicated channel?
(I may very well subscribe for Haye-Chis.. or maybe watch online like I have done for every other BoxNation bill :-\)
That's 4.
-
For a tenner a month it's well worth it , how many channels would air the amateurs as well pro fights from Germany , USA and shows from uk. I'm happy😄
-
Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
Nope and never will.
Stopped on principle around 15 months or so ago when Prime Time started getting fights. My current thinking is that I won' be paying for a fight again and I've stuck to it so far .
I can't believe I haven't seen the last Pac or PBF fights . Something i would never have allowed myself to do ten years ago for the main p4p guys. But thats just it now - I am losing track of who the other main guys are as don't see them. Interest severly in decline.
Won't see Haye v Chisora - certainly won't pay for it as its two unambitious guys cashing in on us for a retirement plan.

Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
I've got it. It's got nice surprises like the Chavez card which means not having to watch it on a stream (although I pay for a site that shows boxing with HD streams too). Both of them cost the equivalent of a couple of pints a week, I can't understand people sitting up all night and watching a fight on a crappy choppy stream when you can pay a couple of quid and watch something decent.
Can't see BoxNation lasting too long though. I heard they need a hundred thousand subscribers a month to break even, I can't see them doing that by just showing a few domestic cards a month, fighters seem to be deserting Warren, etc.. etc. Hopefully it keeps going and keeps showing the big American cards though.
-
Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
I've got it, although I'm still in the compulsory three-month period, which will take me past the Haye/Chisora fight and I'm debating scrapping it after that. If I could be bothered to buy the necessary gubbins to connect my laptop to my TV I could stream the fights directly for free but even apart from that there's only so much Big Daddy Bunce I can be bothered to listen to. It's good for repeats of decent fights but again you can get repeats for free on YouTube and I've already got YouTube going through my TV.
-
Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
I got it for 6 months when it 1st started, i like it seen about 10 good fights since i had it. So will continue to pay for it
-
Av got it defo worth a 10 a month. And as much as a don't want to I am looking forward to the haye chisora fight.

Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
Wasn't expecting many here to have it as anybody who spends a sizeable ammount of time online knows where to stream or torrent fights. I would guess over half their subs don't go online much.

The difference is all in the picture quality and the experience. I much prefer to watch boxing with good picture quality on a big screen TV than to stream it.
Saying that, I don't subscribe because my shitty house can't get sky or cable, so I have to watch them on stream anyway. However, when I live somewhere reasonable, I fully expect to subscribe.

Most torrents are hd and look great :)

You can sky+the late fights on Saturday night and wake up with a full English and watch it on Sunday morning great!!!
-
Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
I do.
Whats a tenner a month? Afew drinks thats it.
-
Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
Yes I do and I have it on Virgin so can record it on there and is the equivelent of Sky +.
It has revitalised my boxing because I gave up on sky which was too expensive. This is a cheaper and better alternative. I have been subscribing since Cottov Marg in December 2011. There are months where it may be nothing but I have seen Cotto v Mayeather, Chisora v Vitali, Chavez v Lee etc good battles.
Just need all the fights to be on there.

Looks like I lost my bet (par for the course)
The next person that says "it's a pint of beer a week" is getting physically shot. Fact.

It's true though, 3 pints is one months subscription , that's why I pay it, it's a fair deal. ;) (You Forgot...) FACT.
-
Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
I do too. I rate the channel to be honest and now it says HD is on it's way I'm happy too. Yes it's not as professionally run as Sky but it's a very young Channel and if Maloney and Hatton do take their fighters there as has been suggested in some quarters (though i bet it would be painfull to be UNDER Warren) it really could be very good for the sport. I enjoy the fights in midweek in Russia and the likes too. I'm impressed with Boxnation and I hope they go from strength to strength.

How can you not get Sky, are you in one of those parts of Wales that doesn't have electricity yet?
:)

It's physically burnt. And it's only a pint a week. If you live in the south it's probably well less than a pint a week. In fact it's only a half in some pubs. The fact is you can get it for the price of only half a pint!

The ex-Sky presenter that said it has not appeared that often.

We're on the wrong side of the hill. FACT.
Something about the hill behind us being quite steep and a lack of line of sight with the satellite. The guy we had out suggested putting the dish at the top of a 12 foot pole at the bottom of the garden, and run a wire up to the house. We're not paying a couple of grand for sky.

Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.
I do cheaper than a pint a week
-
Re: BoxNation - How many people here subscribe to it? Fact.

That must be one steep motherfucking hill. But a twelve foot length of timber for a couple of quid and a second hand dish for a couple of quid more. You'll probably be able to get them for the price of a pint each. Then buy a sateelite signal reciever. I just went to ebay to find you one so that I could quote you the price in pints. Here it is :
COMPLETE SATELLITE FINDER KIT SIGNAL METER BNIB | eBay
Thus for the cost of six and a half pints, or roughly a round of drinks for a small group of people you can buy a satellite finder and plug it into the dish. I did this while being breathtakingly stoned twenty odd years ago on the top of a student house beside a small forest and still hit the satellite in a relatively short space of time. When you get it just buy an old scaffolding pole and concrete the fucker into the ground, fix your dish and off you go. I haven't bought any in a long time but I'm guessing you can get a bag of cement and a bag of ballast for about three pints, maybe two and a half pints. Phone some scaffolding companies for an old pole and ask them how many pints they want for one. :)

A dish is a dish. You still need to subscribe to Sky, we're just talking about getting a signal from Sky in the first place. You need to check the Sky website to see how many pints it'll cost per month to subscribe.

Me. This circumstance also resides under the banner of fact until such day as ones eyes bore of lacking confrontations within the channel of which we speak. Alas that day may be far removed from choice as my kin recieve said entertainment well and endevour to maintain lifespan.
