Garcia can talk all he wants, when he is in the ring with Khan he isnt going to be able to take his speed and power. Khan needs to be focused, and does have a lot to prove but i think he will be too much for Garcia.

Danny Garcia wasn't the one talking all that smack it was his dad. Its laughable how much heart and trash talk people/entourages/trainers/flunkies have when they don't have to get in the ring. Probably not a smart idea to rile up Khan for his son to fight. Let the fighters do the talking and the flunkies should just stick to their assigned jobs.

well daddy can talk all he wants because its not him in the ring, Khan will just be too much for him, hes too experienced and Garcia still has a lot to learn IMO.

Re: Garcia on Khan: "I have never, ever, ever..... met a Pakistani who could fight"
I don't think Garcia is very good and fully expect to see him lose this one. At the same time, I've watched Khans last three fights just recently and tend to agree he can't actually fight/box for shit. He's very athletic of course, in some ways as much as any active fighter, but woefully innacurate and has no real depth to his game. I feel he is extremely overrated and wouldn't give him all that much chance to beat even Bradley or Alexander honestly.

What Garcia is saying isnt quite true , i did once see on CNN a Pakistani cleary fighting using an AK 47.

He beats alexander any day of the week let's not forget that yeah alexander looked good against maidana but quit against bradley and got a gift against lucas and kotelnik in many peoples eyes. Devon is good against plodders but that's about it

And just in case he doesn't and Garcia starts getting inside and roughing him up like Peterson did they'll have Joe Cortez ref the fight and break it every time Garcia gets on the inside.

Peterson got inside because he was on steroids. Garcia isn't as good as Peterson and Garcia isn't on steroids, therefore I doubt Garcia is going to do much roughing up.

Re: Garcia on Khan: "I have never, ever, ever..... met a Pakistani who could fight"
The way Garcia talks about his son its as if he has some ability and can fight. The reality is much different.

Sorry, Tam. That's got to be the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a very, very long time.

Garcia would not say that in Bradford.

You are probably right, and Alexander held all day against Maidana. Khan should have done the same in spots though, both Peterson and Maidana had him in all kinds of trouble once they got inside, where Khan has little clue how to fight. I didn't like the way Bradley seemingly avoided fighting Khan, but in hindsight it probably wasn't a bad career move. I do think he is a much more well rounded fighter and would have every chance to beat him if it were still to happen.
Absolutely agree with the last post though, Garcia isn't going to be the one to exploit Khans flaws as he is fairly crap.

I don't know, IMO he would have been out of there early, Peterson clearly had an advantage over Khan and he admitted to having that advantage, if he didn't have the advantage I don't think he would have been able to press Khan and push the action. That's my view on it.
Imagine if Khan had been on steroids and Peterson was clean...IMO Khan would have had Peterson out early and would have been able to push the action even more. So I don't know, I personally think the steroids gave Peterson the ability to get on the inside a lot easier.

Steroids don't give people ability that they don't have:rolleyes: Peterson may well have had added strength and endurance that changed the outcome significantly, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Khan can't fight in close quarters. Peterson didn't really look much different than he did against Bradley either, it's just there his opponent was able to adapt and not let him keep doing the same thing over and over again to get inside.

I've explained this a thousand times about the Peterson positive test...He was only caught because they detected SYNTHETIC testosterone in his system NOT because he had high levels of test. His testosterone levels were perfectly acceptable and he held zero advantage over Khan. Heck, Khan's testosterone levels may even have been higher than Lamont's on the night.
Too many people on here talk about this stuff without having a scooby what they're on about.
Regardless of what I just mentioned, it was a ridiculous thing to say on its own anyway. You really think you can get inside fighting game in a syringe?? Really??
-
Re: Garcia on Khan: "I have never, ever, ever..... met a Pakistani who could fight"
Even so Althugz, synthetic or not, he made a choice (seemingly) and when you make a choice to put illegitimate and illegal products in your body then you run the risk of getting found out and putting a stain on your entire career. It's unfortunate for him especially because I have always liked him as a fighter but he doesn't deserve a free pass here and those who call into question his win over Khan are completely justified.
With that said, Khan had problems and is nowhere near a top p4p fighter right now. If he can't overwhelm someone with his length, speed and combination punching then I don't see him sustaining success at the top level a whole lot. Roach has turned him into a bit of a cautious fighter, but that's just not his identity and I don't think it's really feasible to turn him into a 'boxer.' He is definitely able to fight, I think his fighting ability is there and the Pakistani statement is both racist and wrong about Khan. I think he overwhelms Garcia, who'd be best to keep his hands up and stay on balance.

Is garcias dad trying to say that only certain races can box ie Mexicans. If Mexicans where bred to fight , why aren't there many Spanish world champions? Who the Mexicans decent from, it doesn't matter what race you are it's down to the individual with talent and help from a good trainer as Garcia will find out

It is ridiculous btw. Steroids don't give you the ability to fight on the inside. They might give you the ability to do more of it than you otherwise would have over a twelve round fight but that's it.

Well IMO Peterson had an unfair advantage over Khan and it's pretty clear he took the sythetic testosterone to increase his peformance. I personally thought Peterson performed a lot better than he should have done, he looked a lot sharper and was really pressing the action. I personally believe the testosterone pellets had an impact on his performance, that's my opinion.
As I was saying before if Khan had taken them and the roles were reversed and Khan had taken the steroids, Khan would have had him out quickly...hey maybe Peterson needed the testosterone pellets to actually compete with Khan.
There is no justification for a world level top class athlete to cheat and I think it clearly aided his peformance. Khan said when Peterson is clean he wants to fight him Peterson to settle the score, IMO Peterson doesn't deserve a big showdown with Khan after wasting are time and getting us excited for the rematch, it's so bad what he did and very unprofessional and I don't think Khan should waste anymore more time on the cheat. However, Khan needs to prove that Peterson is simply a cheat and beat Peterson to put all of this to bed.
I know for a fact with a referee who knows how to referee a fight, a clean Peterson and to box in a place that isn't Washington, Peterson would get battered.

Yes but the give you that extra mental edge over your opponent and they increase your peformance levels therefore making it a lot easier for a fighter to go on the inside and perform better. So IMO , they do give you more ability to fight inside, because the fighter can peform better.
I understand what you and althugz are saying but as you said it gives you that ability to do more and fight on the inside. I do understand this, but you have to think in a 12 round championship fight that is an unfair advantage that Peterson had over Khan, because as Khan got tired, Peterson rallied, and I think Peterson overperfomred in that fight because he was under the influence.
Thats just my view on it.

Garcia’s dad should STFU otherwise his son is going to get a worse beating from Khan.
