Garcia to fight Morales again
So Garcia is to fight Morales again and avoid a Khan rematch or a fight with mandatory Ajose Olusegun. Thoughts?
Sorry can't post link am using the phone
Re: Garcia to fight Morales again
Pointless fight, IMO.
Garcia should be looking forward, not rematching an "over-the-hill" former great who should've hung up his gloves by now.

I didn't watch the 1st fight, but i heard Erik Morales had an injury before the 1st fight. So maybe that made a difference ? that's why Erik Morales thinks he can win the rematch ? despite destroying Amir Khan i don't think Danny Garcia is all that.

Morales had a rematch clause when they first fought with an optional defense. Garcia is not avoiding anyone.

Ok, then I stand corrected. I guess Garcia-Morales II is on.
And yeah... I'm not completely sold on Garcia either (he's a bit slow), but I'm hoping he pleasantly surprises me (again).
;D

yea cause Garcia's ducking the guy who he effortlessly KTFO , I'm glad Morales gets a shot at the belt again, this time if he miraculously pulls off the upset it'd be legit, but this should be Morales' last hoorah and he should hang em up after this fight

I never once said Garcia ducked anyone. If the Morales fight was already agreed then whatever, hopefully a fit Morales at least sees the 12th round this time, and could still stop Garcia even now. Its the mandatory I feel a little sorry for not Khan, if you are not marketable nowadays even fighting your way to the front of the queue will not get you that title shot.
Morales saw the 12th round last time :-\, he lost by decision unlike Khan who got knocked the fuck out, still the only man to stop Morales has been Manny Pacquiao, no one else

*i agree... Garcia might not be the most complex fighter, but he's tough as nails and hits like a ton... he's not ducking no one.
p.s if anyone gets ko'ed, it'll be Morales.
Re: Garcia to fight Morales again
Garcia is probably building up the rematch interest and money against Khan by taking on an easier fight. I hope he loses.

A younger fitter Morales obviously destroys Garcia ( and yes, despite my howler I did see the first fight:vd:) but even now, the rematch is far from a formality.
Re: Garcia to fight Morales again
I read somewhere that what makes Garcia effective is that he has the ability to punch with his opponent. It's a way he has learned to negate a speed deficit. I would like to see Matthysse vs. Garcia.

I agree Tito, pointless rematch, I hope it doesn't happen, I believe Morales would get knocked senseless.
I also don't see the point in a Garcia vs Khan rematch anytime soon either, Khan needs to work himself back into contention before he gets another shot at the title. Plus, I don't believe he can ever beat Garcia.
