This was a great great amatuer fight, but you could really see the difference between Pryor being 21 and Hearns only being 17.
Hearns did not have the power nor the skills as an amateur that his pro career presented. The transition to the pro ranks was so dramatic, Pryor was lucky they never met for money.
Aaron The Hawk Pryor, one hell of a fighter, Thomas Hit Man Hearns one of the all time modern greats,
they don't make them like theses 2 any more.:)
Always thought Hearns was overrated...

Hearns would have won at welterweight if they fought. He was a man then but do not think he could take out Pryor although if anyone could Hearns could.

Had they fought in the pros Hearns would have KO'd Pryor EASILY. Sure Pryor had a solid chin and all, but he got knocked down a few times, he had the tendency to raise his chin when throwing combinations. I think a grown up Hearns is a very tough task for Pryor.

lyle is right ıt would be tough for pryor when hearns was already a grown man.
I think people rate fighters because of their entertainment value as well as technical ability, however disspassionate they are trying to be, and the hitman was a million dollar fighter in the value for money stakes.Quote:

Aaron Pryor was a beast at Jr Welterweight, Tommy Hearnns was a beast at Jr Middleweight. Both great in there own weightclasses it could of never of happened as pro's. Let's forget about what ifs and just admire what they done in there own weightclasses.
thomas hearns would of kept pryor away with long jab then drop the bomb on him with right hand.
