Lewis should be banned for life for that stoppage.
Oh dear god!!!
That was insanely bad. The two best punches of the fight were the two left hooks to the body in the half minute before the stoppage, and they were landed by the guy that got stopped.
Lewis made a BALL'S UP, I feel Enzo should not be fighting but he still is maybe, Lewis did not fancy
seeing Enzo getting sparked.! Not saying he would have, but he's looked very poor and he has had
some nasty KO's . Lewis's face was a picture, he looked like some one had just ran over his dog, bad
stoppage he was in the ring, yes but his brain was on holiday.
enzo was sparked. 4 punch combo wıth makenzie leaning hard into all 4 punches. gotta admit ıts a shıtty stoppage though. the ref shouldve atleast notıced how enzo responded clear-headedly ınstantly. atleast gıve hım a standıng 8. somethıng. anythıng. ıt shouldve contınued but I thınk Enzo was ın a bad spot there and he was def sparked a bıt wıth that 4-punch combo all 4 power shots landıngf well wıth full leverage.
Rather too early than too late, especially with someone like Enzo on the receiving end.
I cant think of anyone that has been more horribly and consistantly sparked out than Enzo Mac and his reputation certainly preceeded him here. Yeah it was early but like I said on the other thread any one of us being the man in the iddle of an Enzo fight would be in like Flynn the moment his head started to wobble around as it did there, twice. We'd go into the fight (as Im sure IJL did) thinking Im going to have to save this guy from a savage sparking.
We dont need referees being brave on a fighters behalf, especially ones like Enzo.
Bad stoppage, felt bad for Enzo he must be feeling so frustrated. He is getting caught very easily nowadays though, a rematch might be on the cards but with the way Maccrinelli has been performing lately is it worth the risk? Justice might be done to make amends for the stoppagge but at what cost, Mackenzie aint a light puncher either.
Ian John Lewis let Briggs continue against Vitali where it was a terrible beating but wouldn't let Macc take a few good shots? I think the ref was scared to see a bad finish and get criticised, better to be criticised for finishing the fight early as someone said than to be criticised for not stopping a fight soon enough and someone suffer a serious injury.
Terrible stoppage but I don't think any careers have been ruined as a result.
He is normally a very good ref he just made a mistake. Everyone is allowed an off night.
That was one of the worst stoppages if not thee worst I have ever seen. Did he not also ref the Mcphilbin fight.
Look how the red knew it was a mistake he made but went through with it to not look a twat!
shame he couldn't go in to an 8 count
This will lose him work.
He may have got theHatton fight but Hattons team will now think "well if Ricky takes a good shot is he going to stop it?". Same as anyone will think.
Its not the refs decision to make whether the fighter should even be in the ring as that is what has happened here. He has given no opportunity for the fighter, who wasnt hurt or wobbled and was stillfighting back, to continue.
He took the money to be in there, he didnt dissagree with the fight so give the man a chance. If Lewis was the ref in Aliv Foreman, would he have let Ali take all those shots and make one of thegreatest comebacks in history?
Blokes a cunt and he knows it looking at that sheepish face and waddling his fat little ass round the ring trying to keep up with Enzo to console him. Lucky for him, no one is likeley to stop him reffing early in a fight because he looks like he might do another shit job.
This is the first time I have seen him do a bad job so give the man a break. Enzo Mac's reputation may have also something to do with it.
That was utter pony.
Did Ali have a reputation for having dodgy whiskers? Had he been dangerously sparked out several times leading up to that fight?
Ali was allowed to take plenty of punishment over his career especially in its twighlight. That happened because it was a different time and referees werent as keen to step in, also because he had a proven track record for being able to take a hit.
If a referee is OK to leave a fight because a guy is sturdy in the chin department surely he's justified in calling a halt to one early if the guy is the polar opposite?
