Carl Froch - Yusaf Mack - fight chat, sky sports.
So the cobra is back in action against Yusaf Mack, Im happy that Froch is getting back in the ring and lets see him put in another top performance against Mack. Although there is a lot of talk about all of the rematch's I am still confident Froch will get some good rounds in against Mack.
Here is the final press conference video for the fight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZN3jKnfa_Rw
Ill post any news in this thread in the build up to the fight. I am looking forward to this weekend and seeing Tony Bellew back in the ring too.

Re: Carl Froch - Yusaf Mack - fight chat, sky sports.
I'm not interested in this fight really. 35 and fighting Mack? It's a filler fight and Froch will win easily. A year of filler with this and the Bute rematch.
Froch will be chasing his biggest dreams as a very old man. He is wasting time.

Re: Carl Froch - Yusaf Mack - fight chat, sky sports.
i dont think this fight is as onesided as it sounds
if froch has one weakness its he can be outboxed and mack definately seems capable of landing more scoring shots than froch
mack has been infront in all the fights he has lost
you never know, if he can stay on his feet it could be interesting

Come on.
It is a home tide over until Bute. Nothing more, nothing less.
16-1 on is rather one sided in terms of odds and making any money.

33-1 on with some firms. That's a heavier favourite than Wlad vs Wach.

That makes me sound like a serious moderate. I should never never sound like a moderate, but in truth I always am and it is others with the issues. As ever, I am right. So stop being boring Brits trying to make a fight out of absolutely bugger all. It is simply not a very good fight.

Re: Carl Froch - Yusaf Mack - fight chat, sky sports.
In everyone of Mack's losses...he starts off well but eventually fades after a few rounds. I sense an early round blowout. Keep in mind Mack hasn't made 168 in 5 years, so there's a possibility he'll be weight drained.

In a very odd turn of events, considering his strong pro-British stance, my opinion has come to be in line with @erics44 a number of times recently.
He's correct on multiple points: Mack has been ahead in all the fights he lost. He's also correct that Mack can box a bit and Froch has had some weakness against boxers, although he looked spectacular against Bute. However, he is a favorite here for a reason. Mack was chosen for a reason. Froch can punch. Mack has been knocked out. Do the math. The most likely outcome is Froch bombs on Mack late for a KO.
Mack isn't as tough an opponent as Grachev was for Bute, but Bute needed to get by a tough opponent mentally to prepare for Froch. Froch just needs a fight so he can stay fresh for the Bute clash in the spring.

Yes the fight is simply a keep busy fight and I'd imagine Froch would have got a better work out sparring with Bellew in the gym. However Froch as we know hasn't had the easiest of run ins and if Eddie delivers what he has said and can arrange those rematches then Froch will be up against it in all of those fights. He is getting on a bit so these more than likely will be his last. As a fan I'll still watch the fight this week and hope Mack brings his best. As long as he shows up in the early rounds to make it a contest like his other fights, im sure we will see another decent Froch knockout.

Re: Carl Froch - Yusaf Mack - fight chat, sky sports.
A decent scrap Saturday afternoon here in the States and Canada, the card starts @ 3:00 PM ET, and around 8:00 PM in the UK/Europe.
At Nottingham, England (Integrated Sports PPV): Carl Froch vs. Yusaf Mack, 12 rounds, for Froch's IBF super middleweight title; Tony Bellew vs. Roberto Bolonti, 12 rounds, light heavyweights; Kal Yafai vs. Pio Nettuno, 8 rounds, bantamweights; Scott Cardle vs. Joe Elfidh, 8 rounds, lightweights.
Like someone said, Mack will be competitive for a few rounds before he starts fading, and Froch catches up with him. Froch by 8th round TKO.

I don't think this is a sellout so the public aren't buying it anyway. Will watch if it's on when I'm out.

Thats a deffinite!
Have you seen the video of the press conference? Mack is in his own little world staring at nothing.
He looks exactly like I feel when sat up in the morning knackered, or starving hungry and delerious.
Mack will be weak.

Re: Carl Froch - Yusaf Mack - fight chat, sky sports.
yeah he doesnt say much at all, its kinda creepy in a way. Froch just need to deliver the goods and move on.

Re: Carl Froch - Yusaf Mack - fight chat, sky sports.
Jesus H Keerist people. If ever there was a time to flash the TrainerMonkey signal in this sky and get back our greatest poster, this is it. He was the bedrock of team Mack before, wasn't he? :D
Anyway, i'll watch this fight. I'll root for Mack because I don't like how Froch manhandled my man Bute. And I like Mack. So even though I would agree with most's consensus of the match, I'm calling in my one time to the great bell ringing boxing godz in the sky and hope he knocks Froch TFO.
And as always, long live TM.

Trainer Monkey/Team Mack. ;D
That was beyond awesome.
Froch is lucky the worlds greatest ever trainer, manager, promoter and all round "boxing buis" guy isn't still with Mack.

Re: Carl Froch - Yusaf Mack - fight chat, sky sports.
Bellew: Bolonti no better than Edison Miranda
I honestley hope Bellew goes out swinging, should be a good fight this one.

He thinks he is a massive puncher with the shit he comes out with. He caught Miranda flush on the jaw a few times and couldnt dent him. Compare that to what Pavlik a middle weight did to him, or Abraham and Bute, all smaller men than Bellew. He lost to Cleverly but caught him too. I want it drummed in to his head that his power is nothing on the world scene, especially for a light heavy. His chin is far from world class. He will always be a level bellow Cleverly and that hurts him.
This bloke hes fighting hasnt got a great chin. I watched a fight of his and he got rocked in the first but we will see. No one takes Bellew seriously. Especially when he criticises Cleverly over and over but had his chance and failed miserably. He looked terrified whenever Miranda went forward, an old middlewieght journeyman. I dont doubt Bellew can punch but hes not what he has deluded himself in to thinking he is, otherwise it would have been one of those head shots that sorted Miranda and not just Edison quiting after a body shot.

Everyone pretty much knows how this fight is going. It will be an action fight because Froch is in there, but Froch is running in place, marking time until Bute 2. Mack is stepping up again and certainly getting shot down again. It's a matchup that's difficult to get excited about.
One thing for sure, no matter what happens, it will be better than Lara vs Martirosyan. A real f..ing stinker!

Anything can happen, but don't forget the times Mack has 'been KOed'. I'd hate see you faint if that happens again. Look, everyone has their limits and Mack is up against that wall. Face the facts.

Mack is going to get royally fucking hammered tonight suggesting the TM is still very much in his corner ;D
Im expecting TM to break his saddo exile tonight to check how Carl is doing after battering Mack senseless for 5 or 6 rounds.

Re: Carl Froch - Yusaf Mack - fight chat, sky sports.
If fights were only 5 rounds, Mack would be top 3 on the pound for pound list. Sucks for him there not. Mack is a very skilled fighter. In all his fights, I don’t think he’s ever been the lesser skilled fighter. He’s that skilled. And he’s that cursed. With a weak chin and even weaker stamina. Those two handicaps cancel his skills advantage. And why he won’t win. I’m sure he’ll follow his usual pattern. Get off to a fast start. Control the fight. He’ll look good. For about 5 rounds. Than it’ll be all down hill. He’ll start breathing hard. He’ll start getting hit with punches he wasn’t being hit with before. His offense output will drop. Than it’s only a matter of time before the stoppage comes. If for some reason he bucks the trend and actually doesn’t get stopped in a big fight, there is no way he gets the W in Froch’s backyard

That was a really horrible fight to watch, I think the ref should have tossed Aguilar out for persistent holding.
The latest Smith off hte production line is tidy enough, probably cruising this one. I'll be interested to see how this Bolonti guy coming up against Bellew will be, Argentineans can be hit and miss in terms of how good they are.
