Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
I really like carl froch.
Body shot was a beauty on mack.
Im just wondering if froch can carry weight well and if he can move up at some point as i dont know how hes gonna beat ward.
Froch has the chin, the power, and the stamina.
Hes defense isnt fantastic but his boxing is improving.
Frochs a nice guy and he beats kessler and bute again..but how will he fight ward this time?
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
Every shot he threw was a train wreck and he was connecting at some weird angles. And what of that chin. He took a monster left hook from Mack coming off the ropes and never even blinked.
Masterful job.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
Pretty sure he has to fight Bute first imp. Most likely in the spring.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
I always thought the contract was 2 fights one in nottingham the other in montreal...

Where will it be?
In Quebec at the Bell Centre as per the contract.

Thats ridiculous this is boxing. Given the right circumstances Ponce de Leon could beat an egg.
Sure you're right.... I guess Froch will just have to pray Ward doesn't train or that he turns into an egg.
No you are right in spite of a hundred years of boxing history that disagrees. After all Lamotta had no chance in the second Robinson fight.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
Pretty much expected him to ball Mack up like dirty laundry and get him out early but he is fighting with a Hellish intent of an attitude and delivery. Pretty Impressive. I think Bute is in for another drubbing. In a rematch though I still go with Ward.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
Froch is going to have to give his belt up or face a fight that won't make him any money. Kessler and Ward are both beltholders with promoters who hate taking risks so Froch will have to travel to fight both guys. Unlikely he'll beat Kessler, a Danish ref and judges judging a Sauerland promotion and he takes another loss from a getting-better Ward. If he doesn't retire after that he could move up to 175 and fight Cleverly if he still has a belt.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
Ward is a quality fighter who is under rated, Froch is raw but fearless and would beat anyone one else in the division, maybe a close fight with Kessler, but cannot see Froch beat Ward ever.

I disagree with the Kessler traveling bit there man. I say Kessler wouldn't have the least bit of a problem facing Froch in Nottingham. I believe the plan would be to hold that fight in Notts Forest Stadium. So much money on offer there, Kessler wouldn't get that kind of money ANYWHERE else.
Beating Ward would be another idea all together. On the day, anything can happen.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
Kessler should fight ward if he beats MaGee.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
Carl looked great last night but Ward may still be out of reach
Id make Carl big favourite to beat Bute
Kessler rematch is 50-50
Carl would be underdog vs Ward
Bute looks so Fragile and I think Carl would rip him to shreds in Canada. Carl and Kessler may come down to who has home advantage. Well matched. both warriors, both have good chins and as brave as they come.
Ward will only fight guys who agree to his demands in Oakland and brings no excitement either so I hope for the other two fights 1st.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
My question is does Froch need Ward? He has two big money fights he can make without Ward.

True. But he will need to beat ward to be established as the best in the divison.
Who cares if he's the best in the division? At his age he needs to make as much money as he can. I don't want to see Froch become another Roy Jones or Evander Holyfield.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
How can anyone not like Froch? The man comes to fight and can never be accused of ducking anyone. The only way he has a shot at beating Ward is by going for broke like he did against Bute and letting his hands go more often. I would love to see Bute fight Kessler and Froch fight the winner. War Froch

I expect Mack will do well early, get caught at some point and be stopped mid or late.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
I'm a big Carl Froch fan. He'll fight anyone anywhere. I still say he doesn't need Ward. At least not now. He will knock out Bute again. I want him to retire with money in his pocket and all his marbers.
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
I'd love to see Froch beat Kessler in Notts, and then finish his career off with a final war with Kessler to complete a trilogy in Vegas where EVERYBODY can't wait to watch the war unfold.
#FrochVsKesslerTrilogy Yes please.......
Re: Gotta like froch..how will he beat ward?
Froch isn't beating Ward. It's not happening. Froch might have to settle for being the second best super middleweight in the world, but he needs to avenge his loss to Kessler before he even gets that title. At this point, because all signs point to Ward having a Hall of Fame career, it might not be the worse thing in the world if Froch is only the second best.

I cant agree with that. Who knows how Ward would be effected if he were to actually go to Nottingham. I realize he has math and the history of rematches on his side but its not a slam dunk. Now I'm not saying he would fold like Bute did from the hostile crowd but there is little doubt in my mind that it would have an effect. Add to that the way that Froch seems to fight at home and some adjustments they might make and it could be interesting.
Kessler makes the most sense since it was so close on the cards but I have this feeling that we have heard the last of Kessler on the elite stage. For lack of a better phrase he has lost the eye of the tiger.
I think he most likely beats Magee and then he will hide out in Denmark for the rest of his career never rematching Ward or Froch.
Where Bute is concerned I'm starting to think although I hate to say it that he is somehow going to bail on the Froch rematch even though he may be tarred and feathered by Quebec fans. Maybe he goes for it and I hope he does but he to looked like a mentally beaten man for much of that Grachev fight. Another gut feeling is that they are thinking about and all Quebec showdown with Pascal if he beats Dawson in March.
A Ward/Froch rematch is the best fight in the division because of the way Carl has stormed back. Perhaps Ward does win again but I don't figure its as finite as many believe especially if he chooses to fight in Nottingham. Nobody gave Lamotta a chance when he re-matched Robinson and yet Jake even out jabbed him. Nobody really gave a 37 year old Robinson much chance to beat Basilio in the rematch. Norris/Brown, Randall/Chavez, Nelson/Leja etc etc. I hope Froch/Ward 2 happens.

What makes you think Bute is going to bail?
I just think styles make fights and Froch didin't do well with Ward's style in any way. Nothing is set in stone though. I'll tell you what: Froch would do a lot better than Pavlik woill against Ward in January. That much is certain
