What are we thinking about this fight? Does Pavlik stand a snowballs chance in hell? He'll always have the power to hurt Ward but I doubt Andre gives him a single opportunity to do that. Tailor made for him in my opinion..

Rubbish fight IMO. What has Pavlik even done since beating Jermain Taylor the second time, which was WAY back. Got schooled by Hopkins at 168 and beat up by Sergio Martinez at 160? I cant believe that they think they can actually peddle this fight.

This is going to be a terrible fight. With Pavlik's straight lines Ward will pick him apart and hug him to death.
Easy fight for Ward bad fight for Pavlik.
Didn't realise pavliklucian was number 1 for the WBC or WBA.
Froch would stop pavlik in 3 easy rounds.
Ward will stop pavlik in 6 rounds.
That's the difference between froch and ward.
Why is Ward wasting his time against Pavlik? Pavlik wouldn't even make my top 20.
I dont know, Pavlik has under rated speed and even ahopkins said he was faster than he thought and also that he could feel the power. Froch isnt hard to hit. It would be an entertaining fight but I think Pavlik is a little tougher than going out in just 3 rounds.Quote:

What made him tough to beat at middleweight was his size and power and he doesn't have those advantages at super middleweight. When you take into consideration that Ward is a horrible styles match-up for Pavlik, this fight could end very badly for Pavlik. At super middleweight, Pavlik should go for a fight with Abraham. It's a 50-50 fight.

I dont see Ward hurting or stopping Pavlik unless its a cut from his fucking head...
I can however see Pavlik hurting Ward at some point. If he does, Ward is in trouble. Ward does get caught, watch the Bika fight. Hes not the defensive master everyone would have you believe, he is just good at getting away with lurching in with the right hand to hold.
Bob Arum is cashing in on Pavlik, after he loses to Ward he will get him to fight Chavev Junior. I do not believe Ward has the power to stop Pavlik.
Pavlik will always have a punchers chance. That's all I'll say about this fight.
Also, Ward does have tendency to get caught, even if it's just for a second of loss of concentration.
Dangerous fight for him, it has the setup of both a spectacular performance from Ward, and a brutal upset for Pavlik.
Even more dangerous, is that both can happen in the same fight.
And yet Froch/Ward 2 is unreasonable.

A strong, aggressive Pavlik has a better chance and is a better fight than a week timid Dawson.
Why is Pavlik fighting Ward? I would think he can make more money by going to England and fighting Carl Froch.
