no thread for the cbs card yet???
So for the first time in god knows how long there is actually going to be a fight card on true non cable network television in the us. Do y'all think its going to lead to more boxing on free tv in the us, or this a one and done deal? Lsc is a fun fighter to watch throwing a bazillion punchesbut I'm just not sure that his opponent will make it exciting or competitive to get people talking about it. Also apparently we get to see a us olympian or two make their debut. I do think gbp should have potentially sacrificed some money and just put on a huge tripple header with some already estabished fighters on free tv to draw more viewers for the future. Hell a matchup like matthyse versus garcia or something as the main event, just feel like this is a half assed attempt, but wtf do I know might do massive ratings.

That is very nice. I grew up in the era of ABC's Wild World of sports. I hope it grows. I really like Santa Cruz. He's been on quite a roll. This will be his 5th of the year.

Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
Just bumped one up, looks like an all in one.
this is good, CBS back it it!!!! Now if they toss in Clancy and Ryan we're set ;D
-
Oh yeah santa cruz has been crazy busy this year, I mean in this day and age of a champs/contenders fighting three times a year at best its nice to see this "kid" do it five times, twice in a month. Santa cruz isn't a bad choice to headline in itself, just not sure about the opponent they picked since it might turn out to be extremely one sided and borring and turn potential future viewers off. Would be nice tho if cbs would pick up some lesser cards in the future kind of like fox does with ufc...they say ufc is what's killing boxing in the us which I don't believe at all I think its just the shitty ass marketing of boxing in the us. I mean boxing seems to still be huge in places all around the world, and I'm sure it has something to do with putting fights on non premium channels.

Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
How many fights are they showing? Just the Sana Cruz one?
Hopefully there's no double OT in the Indiana-Butler game.

Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
Not a bad mobile in and out round for the challenger
Santa Cruz needs to close ranks and not be so wide....1-0 Guevara
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
This kid can fight. Don't like it but I have 2-0 Guevara. Santa Cruz not getting off early
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
third to Santa Cruz, he woke up, cut him off. He has to really hustle up though. 2-1 Guevara
-
This sucks . I love Santa Cruz but I Also love how Guevara has figured s Cruz out. Good lil fight so far
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
Santa Cruz looks a little flat
-
Santa Cruz is beginning to wear Guevara down.4th. 2-2
-
So no other fights prior? made it home for the fourth and apparently even fight so far
-
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
3-2 Guevara. He is just over and under with solid volume. Santa Cruz is going to have to give up his head and war for it hard. He is finally on that body!

Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
Just tuned in, the 6th round in progress:
At Los Angeles (CBS): Leo Santa Cruz vs. Alberto Guevara, 12 rounds, for Santa Cruz's IBF bantamweight title.
The fight looks competitive, i'm glad CBS is back doing fights.

They said if ends early they will show a debut, probally recorded
3-3 with Santa Cruz finally bringing the pain.....whats up with him shaking both of his hands, constantly?
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
Guevara is giving Santa Cruz all he can handle, but he seems to be wearing down a bit.

I remember Billy Irwin would constantly push his gloves on and at stupid times

Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
Mmmm mmm Ms. round 9 ;D 5-3 Champion
Santa cruz either has an injured hand or a very bad nervous tic
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
-
Santa cruz's stamina is insane, few fighters throw as much let alone with the bad intentions that he does, and probably should take two or three months off after this one caise it certainly isn't easy
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
7-3 Santa Cruz but a closer round because Cruz went southpaw:confused:
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
That switching southpaw may have cost him that round, forced and awkward in 10th...7-3 Santa Cruz
Be very interested in hearing interview

They're definitely using the prime time card girls haha
-
One of those exciting competitive semi one sided fights oxymornic but fits this I think
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
8-4 Santa Cruz.
Big props to Guevara
-
Re: no thread for the cbs card yet???
Helluva fight, quality return for CBS!
8-4 Santa Cruz, grew stronger as Guevara went into move and react. Like to see more of Guevara too...shifty lil style
