Ive seen a few of his fights and he looks very athletic, heavy handed , and seems to be a pretty good all round fighter.
Have any of you guys seen him fight live ?
He won a Bronze but i didnt see him fight in the unpaid ranks.
So come on guys is he the real deal ? 26 - 0 - 26 kos says he could be.
Would he beat Dave Price ? Pickey Fury ?

Kind of difficult to gauge him
He's definitely got power. KOing every opponent you've faced is still a big indicator of power, even if the opponents weren't exactly high leveled.
Problem with him is that he's moving along to slow ... but he definitely has one thing going for him and that is power.
I saw him live on the maidana alexander undercard he was fighing some can...I think he gets exposed on the b level
I think he is appalling. He is knocking everyone out because he is fighting rubbish opponents. If you fight Kid Thunder 25 times, you are likely to be unbeaten after 25 fights.

His power is very good, even though he's fighting below par fighters.
The exciting thing is that some of the time when you fight below par fighters you come across a tough journeyman that's hard to stop, (Glen Johnson's role now) so in his 26(26) wins, someone must have had a chin.
It means that although he may not have the defences of a Wladimir K or the thought process/tactical approach of a Lennox Lewis, he can change a fight with one punch and has a chance against anyone.
26(26)-0-0 and he's 27, he should be more in the spotlight, and you'd imagine if he was "that good" he'd have done more.

You got the wheels turning there. Nice. Wilder is really a complete mystery. He and Stewart both fed on the comfort of respected backyards and more than a few hapless bar room bouncers. But I think Stewart was much more composed...better at putting punches together and had already had a couple of 'Oh shit' moments where he had to come off the floor earlier in fights. He had that hurdle jumped. I honestly cannot remember Wilder being hit square on the chin yet...he has everything his way and its not entirely because he is so good but more so by verrrry careful design. Telling is that they said lastnight that he and Price had been thinking about a match for 3 years ??? I hope that was not accurate. Anyone can see ko's if they are feasting on tin men and late subs. I had a read up on him and he did well in the amatuers with not a lot of fights, I've only seen him fight once last night and it was a decent KO. We will see if he can carry the power against decent opposition and then rate him then.
We won't really know until he fights somebody that will fight back and is able to drag him into deeper water. I think a Mariusz Wach or Kevin Johnson would be a decent test for him.
What about Seth Mitchell? I've read he's fighting Banks again, but I think a fight with wilder would be a good one.
Although he's really not all that athletic or coordinated, he still has a lot of potential.
Deontay has a very long reach and tremendous one-punch KO power, and that's going to help him in the future. He's about equal to David Price.
I think Tyson Fury is technically better than either Price of Wilder, but Fury lacks that one-punch KO power that will help Wilder and Price in the future.
Tony Thompson is a much bigger step up than Price was for Wilder.Quote:
