Froch v Kessler 2 pretty much done.
2 mil a piece and its headed for England. I'm pleasantly surprised because I thought Kesslers eye of the tiger went blind.

I thought Froch was contracted to the rematch with Bute.Anyway this is a much better fight.

Im dissapointed in Kessler because before the Calzaghe fight he looked like an animal. He still has that in him but hes so fucking inactive! Hes got that kind of attractive, exciting style, id like to watch him dispatch anyone. Kind of like Mike Tyson. People just liked watching Mike tear bodys apart, ragardless of who they were. Hes getting a bit long in the tooth now but his accuracy and aggression will always beat Froch.
I might even travel to watch this live.

Yes Kessler seemed to be a Lion, but he got tamed by Calzaghe.;)

I thought the very thing. I have a feeling Bute was offered it and he turned it down for the time being. In a sense its smart. He can at least hope that the fight will be a war and wear on Froch a bit before a second encounter.
-
Froch will wait and be stripped!
He will go for kesslers belt as that will get him number 1 for wards!
As for Kessler being the first to travel, froch fought Henry porras at the Avalon in Hollywood in the states in 05.
-
Ps if its in England ill be going
-
Re: Froch v Kessler 2 pretty much done.
Kessler is going to focus on controlling distance. He has to read when Froch plants to fire, then move away or move in. It's getting harder to do with Froch not moving his hands out of position when he punches the way he used to do.

I'm pretty sure the inactivity is due to injuries, wasn't there talk of him possibly retiring due to an eye injury.

Smoke and mirrors and its the reason I said what I did and have said before. I thought he kind of lost his balls in the way he exited the tourney. He just seemed pacified and I'll never forget the interview on the corner in Denmark where he mentioned the double vision and eye injury and then jumped in his car with cameras still rolling and sped off down a cobblestone street. I think its great that its being reported that a deal is more or less done and that he agreed to go to England but my anticipation wont start until an official announcement is made. Boxingscene has a habit of making things sound done at times that are not close at all.

Well, he might not have won but he did travel to make one of the biggest fights that year to fight in Wales in front of 55,000...
Also, Froch went to Atlantic city (I think) to fight Taylor and didnt Abraham travel in the rematch with Miranda?
Basically the pussies were the two Americans;D
Edit, Sorry, forgot about Taylor... 3 Amercian pussies...

Ring mag has an article on it as well, so I'm pretty sure its close to a done deal. I don't know I guess I'm willing to give kess the benefit of the doubt in regards to his eye and do think it was legit, and he's going to england, he ain't going out like that.

Anyone else think Froch is on the juice? I never really fancied him at world level but has proven me wrong of late
-
Man froch is pure natural!
He sets the standard big time!
Guy just has gift like power, durability and stamina which in my opinion is better than calzaghes considering the power froch puts in
-
Re: Froch v Kessler 2 pretty much done.
Bute must have turned down the rematch for this to happen. Credit Kessler for coming over here. The first fight was a war and this one will be too. Andre ward will easily pick up the pieces.
-
And that's the only reason ward will win thank you for pointing it out!
Froch should stop Kessler round 6 and sweep the cards too.
Bute skipped the fight out of fear

Your fucking dreaming if you think Froch stops Kessler!
-
Re: Froch v Kessler 2 pretty much done.
Froch is going to win (again), this time by stoppage.
-
Froch has seriously improved since the first fight.
Kessler will feel it this time.
Kessler has peaked but froch has beyond peaked! He crushed bute and I think bute would have had a great 12 rounds with Kessler

I would have thought the same thing before the Froch fight, but now I am not so sure. Then again, Kessler wouldn't be bringing the kind of pressure that shattered Bute...

I don't know, Kessler has been showing his age since the Super 6. I wouldn't be that surprised to see a Froch stoppage.

Dont get me wrong, I respect Froch and given the right opponent hes entertaining but what has he done to say hes improved since Kessler?
Would have looked even worse against Ward beforehand?
Kessler would have done exactly the same to Bute, maybe quicker. Abraham is the weakest fighter in the division and most people think George Groves would do him. Johnson just lost to Groves in his worst showing. Bute was there for the taking and this is what you are basing Froch stopping Kessler on? Kessler has just walked through Magee quicker than anyone else including Froch.
-
How old is Magee now?..........exactly!
Froch stopped Magee with a genuine broken hand in 06 when Magee was at his best and that's the difference, froch was green then too!
Froch walked through Abraham where ward. Couldn't sweep the cards at home!
Froch leant how to fight going back after the Kessler fight.
Kessler hasnt changed where froch doesn't load up anymore he waits and pounces with tip tap weak combos.
He didn't throw one power shot against bute that I remember

Explain the Ward fight?;D
Kessler just wants it more. In their fight! In the dying seconds it was Kessler that was still steaming forward throwing everything he could at Froch. Froch couldnt match his work rate or accuracy. Kessler is a better boxer than Froch but he is also more of an animal, where he will work till he drops. Froch is tough and has good stamina but he works at his own pace. I believe had he worked harder in his fight with Ward he could have at least made it very uncomfortable for him but instead he still has this deluded bleif that he can pull off the left hand low and leaning back style. Hes not quick enough and his feet are never right. If hed have just done what Bika did and worked it could have been alot differrent. Bute is delicate and thats the reason Froch got that win. I was one of the only people on here that thought Froch would beat Bute but I still think Kessler has too much for Froch.
-
I don't thin Froch will stop Kessler but I think he will do enough to win a hard faught UD. It won't be easy though Kessler is a great fighter and he won't be coming to lose this one. Froch had looked a lot better of late though and this will be good if he wants to get through Kessler. I think with the fight being in the UK though it will certainly help Froch. He needs to start fast though and make an early impression. I'm sure he will!!

He may stand a chance of beating Kessler, but Kessler is not the fighter that Calzaghe beat that was
a prime Kessler, Froch is a good fighter were Joe Calzaghe was a Great Fighter simple regardless
what some think.;)

Re: Froch v Kessler 2 pretty much done.
All this "Froch has improved since the first Kessler fight" & "Froch has looked good of late"
He had his worst performance ever against Ward, then fought Bute and then a week weight drained Mack. The only improvement he has shown is maybe starting faster. He got caught amd stunned in both those fights and Kesslers faster hands will still cause him trouble.
The Bute fight was a good result but I have no doubt that Kessler would have done it quicker. Froch is lucky Bute chose him as an opponent first (brave choice with Froch coming off a shite performance) before Kessler got their because if Froch had got the rematch with Kessler first and inevitably lost again he is almost worth nothing. Having the Bute win and the manner of it has single handedly given Frochs career the shot in the arm it needed and made him box office because other wise he is just loosing to every world class super middle he comes across.
I like Froch but I know his limitations. If I were his promoter id be getting Pavlik over and make some cash out of him while he has a high profile then id chase Ward and try to get him to the UK. Oddly enough as in the "styles make fights" thread, I really think he has a better chance of beating Ward than he does with Kessler. Ward is fragile and nearly fell apart against Bika whereas Kessler will be with him beating him to the punch till the better end. He just needs to start much faster and not try and load up on everything. When hes tensing up trying to just be the stronger man, he is sloeing himself down and making it easier for the lead right, maul and hold "style" of Ward.

sit back and watch froch kessler 1 again, by round 4 kessler looked worryingly tired, a stoppage is a good bet

Well, if thats what you saw, doesnt that solidify what I said about Kessler just pushing himself harder? That he was in your view tired from round 4 but still finished the 12th stronger? That Froch couldnt take advantage of a tired Kessler.
If Froch isnt carfeull he might just get stopped himself in the rematch.
-
Re: Froch v Kessler 2 pretty much done.
You're negating the lift that a home crowd always give to a tiring fighter and also the notable distruption caused to Froch's finaly preperation and traveling because of the ash cloud.
He'd barely touched down in the country and stepped off the plane before he had to get in the ring.
THis fight is anything but dead cert and a Froch stopage win isn't exactly unlikely when you consider the context of the last fight and his current form.
Not a cert, but not fantasy by a mile.
-
Kessler fights like he's no even in his prime yet!
Fact is froch ruined Kesslers face and had nothin to do with ward!
If froch stops Kessler then he would have done what Calzaghe tried his hardest to do and that's with over 100 punches a round!
Fact is Kessler is better than ever and recent Kessler would have stopped Calzaghe
-
If kess vs Calzaghe was in Denmark it would have been different but Calzaghe wasn't a real champ as he never took his belts anywhere but Wales unlike froch!!!
I mean lets not face the facts here

He fought in England, Scottland, Denmark, Germany and Armerica.....;D:rolleyes:

Scotland?! Shit... Heres me thinking I never went on foreign holidays as a kid! Really I went on dozens! Next you'll be bragging that he traveled from Wales to England! ;D
When you say shit like that you go from being objective, to a bit of a fan boy... Unless I'm missing a joke and you're kidding? ???

Now that I think about it I respect eubank more than Roy jones because at least eubank travelled from Brighton to london

It is a fucking joke, to even question it you gotta be a bit thick;D
If dropanduke wants to be specific by saying he never left Wales, well he did. Scottland is a seperate country, as is England, Denmark, Germany and America. Dropanduke is as thick as shit and knows nothing by stating that Calzaghe never left Wales.
As for Eubank, he fought everyfucking where. The mans schedule is amazingly busy, look at his record, how many times he fought and where, leading up to the Collins fight. Think it was south africa, germany, ireland, America and Portugal.
-
Re: Froch v Kessler 2 pretty much done.
Pumped for this fight! I predicted Kessler the first time and thought he just pulled it out, as for the second, I think Froch will take it on decision if it's in the UK.
