Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
Made me laugh when the guy doing the interview said -
" would you be open to a super fight "
SUPER FIGHT ? Tyson Fury - glass jaw powderpuff , British standard fighter in a SUPER FIGHT , fucking unreal.
Let me clear up once and for all Tyson Fury is a total media product , he wouldnt have lasted a round against British champion of the past Gary Mason , Bruno would KO him in one , he has no power at world level , and has no chin , HE IS FUCKING GARBAGE.

Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
Tyson Fury is a skilled fighter, Velasquez isn't.. so yea, it's hardly a superfight.
I can't believe guys like Velasquez are regarded as one of the top dogs in MMA. smh

I agree with this , however Fury has used this half hearted media ploy so it retracts from the fact he is garbage , BIG TOUGH TYSON FURY , i am at a loss with Fury , he is a big tall arm puncher with some skills , but no punch , no chin.

Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
Fat Mick has now wrapped Fury in bubble wrap , he wont risk him again any punchers , until he gets his million dollar payday for the title , when he gets KOED , he can go and retire.
FACT.

Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
Bit slow putting this up. I love how ElDickBreath comes out of the wood work to hate on MMA any chance he get he takes it.
Tyson is a joke of a fighter. Only a matter of time before he get's sparked. All this was publicity for him he never wanted to fight Cain.
Since this Fury has been called out by a couple of MMA fighters and he has kept quiet. Even Bob Sapp called him out!

A guy that's never been knocked out and has hit the floor once in 20 fights, for about 1 second, has a "glass jaw?"
Amazing what people see when they dislike someone. :)

Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
<_< This is pretty stupid. Talking shit about how a MMA Heavyweight champion is not a skilled fighter is pretty dumb. Mixed martial artist are skilled in many arts such as jui juitsu and what not and often takes them many years to earn various belts. Why do we keep comparing TWO DIFFERENT SPORTS. Cain would murder Tyson in a ufc ring and Tyson would KO Cain in a boxing ring. He said it himself "I'm not a boxer" So wtf is the point of this video? This is coming from a guy who loves boxing. Boxing is my #1 sport. But this shit is stupid... it's like a football player challenging a rugby player.. come on man to each their own just respect each other.

Having a "glass chin" is utterly irrelevant where "punchers" are concerned. Rock solid chins get cracked by big punchers. "Glass chins" get cracked by average punchers/lower tier fighters hence - "glass chin"
If you guys want to call a heavyweight that's never been ko'd, who's average opponent weighs over 220, as having a "glass chin" that's frankly quite ridiculous to me.
If Fury steps up in class and gets knocked out it still wouldn't mean he had a "glass chin," because the "class factor" has to be taken into account. So there is currently zero evidence Fury has a "glass chin." Fact.

Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
David Price, who currently looks a massive puncher, was unable to KO "glass chinned" Fury in the amateurs. Price is obviously a "powderpuff" puncher? How could a "puncher" not KO a "glassed jawed" fighter?

Im talking about what i see now , as a pro fighter , he cant punch at top level , and has been floored by a novice with 5 KO wins in 16 , it is my opinion that he has a glass jaw.

The shot that floored Fury was a heavy right hand if I remember, most people who get caught especially by a heavyweight they can go down. Any fighter even if they don't have a good KO recording are still more than likely to land a hurtful shot in a fight. Fury did well to get up from it and knock him out. That fight was good experience for Fury.

You're giving your opinion... and I'm giving my opinion that your definition of a "glass jaw" is wrong.
Remember Pele Reid? He was knocked out in 5 of his 6 losses and floored/wobbled several times. The best fighter he ever faced, Orlin Norris, sparked him in 60 seconds, his other KO losses came against non-punching Brit level fighters (including John McDermott who Fury fought twice without visiting the canvas), a journeyman and a novice. That's a "glass chin." When he got clipped he went out.
Dozens and dozens of fighters far better than Fury have been dropped. By your "glass chin" standard virtually every fighter in history has one. That's all i'm saying.

Fair enough lets wait and see , however if you do sit ringside when Fury fights a world class puncher , wear safety goggles :)

Exactly and at the point they fought, Fury was a 17 year old novice with less than 15 fights, Price was 22 and an experienced international and Fury still managed to put Price on the canvas;D

Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
Cassius Clay was dropped legitimately by 2 opponents in his first 19 fights. Both weighed well under 200lbs;)

So the Pickey is the next Clay , WOW bold to say that .
Every fighter who is dropped is an all time great , wow

Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
Anyone who doesn't agree with Cain handling himself like a gentleman and professional here is a wanker them self.
And anyone who doesn't think Cain would absolutely smash Tyson Fury in an mma match is a moron.
Velasquez is far more skilled in his sport and overall than Fury is.
-
Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
IMO Cain handled it the 100% correct way.
It would be an insult to the sport of MMA if a boxer, who isn't even a world champ, got a shot at the #1 MMA HW in the world just because he talked some shit on Twitter. Just like it would be disrespectful to the sport of boxing if some MMA guy talked some shit and got a shot at Wlad Klitschko or Floyd Mayweather.
As far as people who think Cain isn't a skilled fighter... please stick to what you know, because when you say things like that you look stupid to people who know better.
If you locked Cain and Fury in a room and told them to fight to the death, no rules street fight style, Cain wins. There's no question about it.
Whether you enjoy the sport of MMA or not, you have to acknowledge that the fighters are the real deal. You stubborn boxing nuts sound foolish when you dump on it. You're great great great (ect) grandfathers were probably talking shit about the first automobiles, sitting in their horse and buggies ;D;D;D

Re: Cain Velasquez Rejects A Challenge From Boxer Tyson Fury, Jan. 2013
MMA's fans are so uninformed though that James Toney has one fight and its with the biggest name in MMA and he got paid twice as much as him!
If Cain moved over to boxing, there is no way that any broadcaster would be interested in buying a fit between him and Wlad. It wouldnt sell.

No I think Ross is saying that even though Fury got lucky and caught Price in the amateurs that does not mean Price is especially vulnerable. He has been caught a few time since but with his monstrous punching power, good boxing skills, fitness and large stature he will probably go on to knock out Wlad and become heavyweight champion of the world, for a long time. At least thats what I think Ross means.:-P

Good, Velasquez would destroy the "big stiff" as he likes to put it.
He's right though, although he repeats himself like a child's toy with dying batteries, he should work his way up.

James Toney came to MMA and fought a 46 year old Randy Couture who was well out of his prime. There was no title on the line because he wasn't champion. Cain vs Wlad is hardly the equivalent of that fight.

Well that was a one-and-done kind of thing. They put Toney in there to illustrate, once and for all, that a pure boxer isn't going to go into the UFC and whip ass just with boxing alone, even if he does have world class boxing.
Boxing is a great sport, but MMA is the sport of actual hand-to-hand combat.

Cain knows that, it's the boxer, Tyson, who wants the fight and is making all the noise.
Dana White said Toney followed him around the US begging for the fight. When Couture beat Toney it didn't prove anything, boxing and MMA are different. If Toney had beaten Couture it wouldn't have proved anything, boxing and MMA are different.
I enjoy them both and in my opinion, one is not better than the other.
