Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
Still trying to work out why he was born with so much mouth and so little heart? He put on a stinker vs. WK and barely beat the freakshow!
Haye is more seasoned sure but Price is the real deal. Why does Haye not pursue a fight with Price? He's better than Chisora.
Hope Pricey get's his shot soon, Thompson will be a good step in that direction..

Re: Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
When Price turned pro he did so under Haye's promotional banner. They are friends and have sparred numerous times.
A man as successful as Haye, that has made an absolute fortune from boxing, doesn't need to fight his friends. Price has his career ahead of him, Haye's is at the end. Simple as that.
AS for Price-Wlad... I would give Price a great chance of KOing Wlad right now. Price looks like he has the power to trouble anyone.

David Price does look very powerful and has a good boxing style , however lets not get to carried away , id like to see him fight a top contender with power , then we can know more about him.
And yes i think he could be more of a threat to the brothers grim than Haye.

Same.
In many ways he is entering a heavyweight division ripe for the taking. Wlad has managed to keep everyone away from his chin so maybe David can to but I have this feeling that his chin will be his achilles heal even in a severely watered down division.

Agreed with this but so far so good for Price but he still needs to be tested by better fighters. We will be able to see in the near future how he holds up against the better fighters in his weight class.
He is more suited to fight a Klit though with his sheer size and height. He's a lot bigger than Haye and that will take away the advantages Wlad usually holds against his opponents with Wlad usually being a lot bigger than his opponents, he wouldn't have that advantage over Price.

Re: Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
As far as I'm concerned, David Haye had his opportunity and failed in EPIC fashion. While I don't think Price is at a stage where he would beat Wlad, I still think it's a much more interesting matchup.

I wanna see Price vs Wilder

Re: Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
I agree 100%, I also believe that Price is a top 10 HW. He's by far the best in Britain.
He would finish Fury within 3 rounds. I believe he would beat Wlad and I believe the only person who could trouble Price is Vitali.
But even then with his age I believe Price could beat him!

Re: Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
Yes Price is more of a threat bigger, stronger and harder puncher. The only thing Price lacks is experience but he can get that over the next few fights.

Price is far from the real deal, his last fight was against Skelton, and before that
the terrifying Audley,he needs to be tested against much better fighters before
he is anywhere near the real deal bud.

I mean price is a very hot PROSPECT. But thats what he is just now, after the thompson fight i will make my mind up, but hes by far the best in britain and when he fights i want to watch. Price sparred haye numerous times, even for the wlad fight and more than held his own.

As far as this topic goes, that is irrelevant as he has sparred with K2 as well.

Well don't tell anyone but... a concrete reliable source told me Price knocked Haye spark out twice during their sparring sessions. Haye then brought in the lawyers to make sure it never went public. I'm not saying that's true but my mate Dave knows the score, know what i'm saying (;)).

it was relevant to the conversation. And if the post is about price doing better than haye would against the klitschos why would how he got on against haye in sparring not be anyway relevant???

Re: Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
At this stage - no. He has the physical attributes to be a threat, but he doesn't quite have the experience needed yet.
I would guess that Vitali will be gone by the time Price faces enough top ten fighters to be ready and Wlad may be on the decline by then. A wlad-price match up a few years down the line couldbe interesting, if he continues to progress.
They seems to be bringing Price on slowly, so I can't see him taking a fight with K2 yet... Saying that, Chisora was deemed worthy by them after barely having over 10 bouts, so you never know.

Re: Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
So far, so good as far as Price goes.
In this era, particularly amongst Heavyweights Price's age is no issue. He had a solid amateur career, and has shown continued improvement as his career has gone on. And although he has had too few fights IMO, he has reached a level you would expect in his four year career, that of domestic champion and matching up with fringe top ten fighters.
The brothers Klitschko are not getting any younger, and there is no real talent on the horizon that looks like theu can fill the power vacuum left when the Klitschko's go. Thus Price just might be in the right place, at the right time.
The only real thing I have against Price at the moment, is that nagging doubt about his chin...

Re: Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
Haye presents no threat to anyone.
Impossible to say with Price. All we know is that he's a big guy with a big punch who can knock out flabby journeymen half his size who look like their training camp was based in a fish and chip shop. Oh, and Audinary Harrison.
Until he faces some kind of test, the jury is very much out.

I think that is pretty much what everyone has said , - so far so good.
As for the guys he is fighting looking like they train in a chip shop , well didnt Tyson fury look like that for 18 of his 20 fights so far ?
And Fatty McDermott was robbed against Fury in the first fight.
Price looks the part , and hits hard , but let just wait till he gets tested. At least Price comes in to the ring in fine shape.

Re: Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
The Monstrous size of the guy, of course he has a chance but HW of today are very large, the thing
is theses big guys hit hard, regardless of skills you get hit on the chin down you go.

The jury is very much out on Fury and Price, but there's no doubting that Fury has faced better opponents and been tested... a bit.
It's impossible to anything about Price, as he hasn't faced any kind of test at all. In fact, when Skelton jumped on him at the start of their fight, Price looked distinctly uncomfortable and amateurish.
We know he can dish out some punishment, but we need to see him on the receiving end from a guy who is in shape and in there to win. You're right, he definitely looks the part, but they have to move him up.

you mean Ron Price the Tasmanian Devil?

Re: Would anyone agree that Price is more of a threat to K2 than Haye?
Speaking as a former fan of the heavyweight division, I'm anxious to see what Price can do against tougher opposition. He and Deontay Wilder seem to be following parallel paths so far: huge power, size, and seemingly limitless potential. Price seems the more polished of the two.
At this point I just want to see someone..... anyone.... give Wlad a true test. That fighter's gonna have to be big, powerful, and hopefully not step into the ring shitting his pants. Price has a slight height and reach advantage over Wlad, so that's a great starting point.
Hopefully, by the time either Wilder or Price are seasoned enough and ready for the big time, Wlad will still be around and willing to take on such a challenge.
