Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Alot of awards going around just now just thought id create my own yearly award and give it to chris eubank jr. You know when you get a copy of a film thats still in the cinemas and you cant wait to see it, but to your absolute disgust its got crappy picture and sound quality and that idiot keeps coughing and you miss parts of the film!Well thats chris eubank jr a crappy copy that once excited me but now annoys me like that copied dvd of inglorious bastards that sits there gathering dust.

Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Lol... He actually looks very solid to me for an inexperienced fighter, and he's fought 10 times in the one year he's been a pro. Can't fault that kind of work ethic at all, he seemingly doesn't want to milk his last name and actually intends to be a fighter.
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
You have got it backwards. Sr. gets the most annoying boy award. Him and Chavez Sr should be relegated to the nose bleeds when their kids scrap.
-
I suppose i just like chris senior too much and dont like how he poses about like his dad...
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
I don't like the way he takes off his dad every fight, however, his schedule has put most Brit prospects to shame. Fighting Bradley Pryce in your first year as a pro makes some bigger name Brit prospects look silly
-
You know what hes still annoying boy champ but he does have a strong work ethic, just needs to stop looking so annoying... (Honorable annoying boy mentions) eddie hearn, tyson fury.

I love it, he genuinely has a belief that he has what it takes to go places. He fought Bradley Pryce tnis year and did a better job that Billy Joe Saunders. Eubank fought Pryce in his 8th fight and in his first year as a pro. Saunders fought him just before Eubank did but he fought him in his 14th fight and 3rd year as a pro!! Yet Saunders is supposedly the better fighter ;D
Eubank will be challenging for world titles (if he's not defending one) in his 3rd year as a pro, not fighting and looking uncomfortable against British journeymen;)

I dont wish him bad just dont like those zoolander facial poses he pulls. And how he tries to fight like he has a massive dig, he seems to have a good engine and workrate so if he sticks to his strengths could do ok.
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Im not worried about the apparent lack of power. I think that is more to do with him being tense. He is very tight when he fights. When he gets more experience and loosens up a bit I think he will start being alot more hurtfull.
Im more interested to see if his chin holds up like the old mans
-
Big ask eubank sr has a hall of fame chin. Just have to wait and see what happens with him. Theres worse prospects. Hes yet to gain my liking completely which im sure will trouble him lots.......

Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Have you seen the size of his brother Seb?
Not sure of its just a trick of the camera or what and dont know what weight he fights at but Seb looks like a tank stood next to Haye. He looks wider than Haye. Deffonitly bigger than Chris jr. Gonna be interesting if and when he truns pro as well;D

Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
If you search "Simply the best training" that is Sebs facebook page and theres a clip of one of his fights. He paralyses the opponent! Sposed to be a real banger!

Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
There are more annoying people in boxing than CEjr.
He's winning and looking good doing it.
Only in boxing can someone do it good, early in their career, and still be under appreciated.
Annoying boy award mention : this threads starter.

His brother is good a southpaw i think seen hom knock someone cold at a show he looks exciting. Vendettos your probably just past puberty and dont remember his dad too much, but the son annoyingly copies things his dad did, hes an ok fighter but i look forward to him fighting a live fighter. Pryce was old and done.

Firstly my kids are probably near you're age.
Secondly, and also cliche, but I have probably forgotten more about boxing and it's history than you'll ever learn.
My point is valid. He's doing what he's doing and doing it good.
Stop making threads about who dislike as no one gives a shit.

Yes he is annoying much like his old man. How big is your ego when not happy with being at your sons fight you then have to give your advice from the sidelines? If Sr wants to do that why not train him and work his corner? Is hard to know how much is a show and how much is Jr. His dad was a pretentious twit at times and it was refreshing to see Collins out psyche him, but in real life he was much less of a dick. In boxing as in life there will come a time when Jr has to be his own man, Ross is right in that as he learns to loosen up he will bang a but more but I am not sure he will ever have the power his Dad did. He is being matched tough and is coping well in a domestic division deep with talent so we will soon see how far he has come, good luck to him. For what it is worth I once shared a table on a train carriage from London to Brighton with Chris Sr, and he was very civil, personable and not at all aloof.

In regards to his power compared to his dad, he has more kos than his dad did when he had as many fights as jr does now.

Thats not his fault. It's a disease. Eubank Jr. also can't turn left.

Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Seriously his face poses?? Try to imagine having Sr as thee old man. Who cares. I watch boxing for the boxing first and foremost. This kid if anything is a breath of fresh air. Turns pro and proceeds to fight 9 times in one year including twice in a week. I don't think anybody has had that kind of activity level since Tyson. My only worry for the kid joking aside as he climbs the ladder is the distraction of his father.

I agree he needs a fight with sr in a different city, or building at least.
But he does add the "breathe of fresh air" I've certainly been looking for.
Just a little more power and he's golden.

Fair enough it was mabey the immature crap iv seen you write before made me think you were 12, if you dont like my posts dont read them...... But your interested and keep writing i have wrote about a prospect who although he is talented annoys me with the copy the dad act. Its free to give my opinion. Eubank turned pro in the usa and would have probably fought a little better opponents than jr he only had one less ko at the same point his son is now.
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
I didn't like Eubank jr at first but now respect him. I'm sure he has had a few breaks along the way courtesy of his dad, he's lucky for that. At the end of the day though, it is him who has to take the punches and it is something he is prepared to do. Fighting that much in 1st year as a pro? Can't knock that. Hopefully he can keep up a similar level of activity over the next couple of years.
Did anyone else ever see 'At home with the Eubanks'? reality programme which just the family at home, wouldn't have expected them boys to look like they do in that pic with Haye. Wish I had enough hours in the day to train that much!
It can be a bit cringey watching him try to be his dad with his style and the way he moves but every blokes hero should be their dad and if it isn't then their dad messed up somewhere.
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
I am a fan of junior, he is a quality fighter and why not use his dads experience and fame. He would be a fool not to.
I did not know about his brother, that is very interesting and exciting.
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Haha, was just nosing at Eubank jr's twitter account and after super middle weight Frank Buglioni has mentioned wanting to fight Eubank, Eubank shot him down with this gem
"@FrankBuglioni you're not Degale. You're a guy who just went the distance with a bum who I stopped in 4 rounds in my first fight 2 years ago"
;D
This is Buglioni in his last fight against Chris Eubanks first pro victim;D

Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
That "bum" is a journeyman, he hardly ever gets stopped, Eubank jr spent 4 rounds hitting his arms before the ref stepped in, he didn't even floor him, I doubt Buglioni's mob thought it would be a quick night.

you seem to have a lot of testosterone for someone with grown up kids
people usually mellow out when they grow up a bit

Fact remains that the journeyman had a far easier time against Buglioni, in Buglionis 9th fight almost landing at will in the last few rounds, than he did against Eubank Jr, In Eubanks very first pro bout! Also, dont forget that Buglioni is a supermiddle and should have been able to stop Psonko, especially seeing as Eubank is not a big puncher...

I also believe that Buglioni has had a lot of Am fights where as eubank only had a handful
its all a good comparison and looks good on Eubank

Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
The Eubank bro's are incredible. They've both got their dad's shoulders. They've both go bigger shoulders than David Haye!!
I swear though, Chris Eubank didn't move up to Cruiserweight, his shoulders pulled him up to it :D
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
George Groves couldn't stop that "bum" either.
For sure Eubank jr looks more impressive having faced him on his debut, but he knocked his arms out, if the ref let it continue the guy would have gone the distance (probably).
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Watch the 4th round. Psonko does nothing!
Hes covering up amd throws maybe 2 punches?
Eubank catches his with a nice shot and the legs go a little then its back in a shell falling in to the ropes. He didnt want to know. He certainly wasnt put in his shell like that against Buglioni.

Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Maybe the "bum" is improving? He's had a dozen fights since facing jr
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Ok...
Heres Groves fighting him in his debut, throwing everything and even doing like screams with his punches in the last round to try and stop him;D every time Groves opens up the commentator says "oh and Groves just gets caught"
Groves is so intent on being a puncher, he's always getting caught!
Psonko again was willing to open up against Groves another super middle "puncher";D

Well there you go... Eubank jr punches harder than George Groves too.
I bet when you woke up today you never realised you'd spend haf the day watching Kirilas Psonko fights?

No, I think if you actually measured the weight of the shots then maybe Groves would be harder but he is so intent on being a big puncher hes stiff and loads up and fairly easy to read.
When you watch Eubank in his first fight you could be forgiven for thinking hed had 15 already. He is very relaxed and isnt trying for. Knockout. There is more to come from him and the more fights he has the more relaxed he will get. If we are going on potential then on that figt alone, Eubank must be up there with Groves.
Hopefully he can get some more fights soon because he needs it. Hes stalled this past uear through his shitty promoter.
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
You'd pick jr against Groves?
How about against Barker, Murray, Macklin and GGG?
-
Re: Chris eubank jr.... Winner of annoying boy award
Put it this way, When Jr reaches the level that Groves is at now I would bet that he neats Groves. Let him have another 9 fights and he can either be a title defence for Groves or Groves will be a name for Eubank.
Same for the rest, they all just get hit too much. Eubank jas been schooled well in american gyms and looks far more polished at this early stage.
