Haye should be trying to erase that embarrisingly pathetic loss to Wlad not trying to brush it under the carpet like it never existed! Truth is, he felt Wlads power and wants no more.

Vitali can retire whenever he wants to, he's had a long career amateur boxing, kickboxing, and boxing. Vitali is the WBC Champion and is 41 years old...he can retire as he sees fit, Hell Tyson could have retired when he wanted to because he accomplished so much, but it's beside the point. The point is show some fucking respect for a Champion who has accomplished as much as Vitali has.
All of that said, if they were to fight, I fancy Haye's chances to outbox Vitali in his current form. I think Vitali also sees that possibility himself.

I wonder if the irony that Lennox Lewis retired after promising Vitali a rematch is lost on Vitali.
It's not quite the same (Vitali gave Lewis a hell of a fight), but I'd hope that after not letting it go all this time over Lewis, Vitali will now realise that you can say you'll fight this guy and that guy but sooner or later there comes a time when every fighter gets old and the smart thing (and probably hardest) is to say it's a day.
For years Lewis had people saying he was scared to rematch Vitali and was a quitter. I doubt the 'Vitali ducked Haye' jibes will last as long... I just hope they give Vitali an understanding that it wasn't easy for Lewis to call time when he did either.

Haye fights like he thinks he's the champion...once a year. If Haye was a true professional boxer then he would have been working on earning another title shot and in all honesty it would be easier for Haye to earn another title shot than someone like Tony Thompson or Ruslan Chagaev. Haye fought and whupped Dereck Chisora, had he done one more fight right away he'd have been in the mix no questions asked but this "Vitali or bust" attitude is just in bad taste, he's overreaching his brand. David Haye isn't the end all be all heavyweight, I've known that for a long time, everyone seemed to hop on board with the idea after that stinker of an "effort" he put in vs Wladimir.
Let's just face facts David Haye is a "celebrity" that dabbles in boxing...if he was a true boxer he would have picked out the toughest nontitle holder, whupped them & forced Vitali by ACTION to take the fight not by words.
