Although promoter Frank Warren has insisted the bout will take place, it may be rescheduled for a later date, according to STV.
Burns had been due to fight first Liam Walsh and then Jose Ocampo last December but both pulled out at short notice.
His fight with Vazquez was announced in January but last month the Mexican cast doubt over whether it would go ahead.
'There is nothing concrete,' he said. 'I am waiting on the response from the promoters. If they come to an agreement, there will be a fight.'

First George Groves and now this. How can they not have a signed contract? Warren has lost one to two million a year for the past two years, he just went bust yet again and if this is true you've got to wonder if his new promotional company is falling apart. Anybody know how Box Nation is doing?

I read this a couple of weeks ago but the Vazquez camp rubbished it. Here is a photo of him holding up the signed contract and proof of the written contract...

I just read. Wow I nearly bought tickets for this as well but the event was falling apart. Chisora still hasn't had his licence approved, Groves walks away from Warren and now they're saying Vazquez has an injury. Burns is pissed as this is the 3rd fight he's had fall through in the last few months.

If only Ricky was in charge. I mean they had a chance at unification and turned it down and the highest pay by far of his career for this circus?

It was food poisioning and Vazquez had a legitimate doctors note for it, so I understand him not wanting to fight in two weeks time. However, read this Team Burns Furious With Warren: 'Relationship is Strained' - Boxing News Burns isnt not happy with Warren and the fight be rearranged again, apparently Burns' relationship with Warren is strained, so I wouldnt be surprised to see Burns jump ship to matchroom soon as well. Poor Frank will have no fighters left at this rate.

Thing is with Warren I think he has done so well the last however many years taking his fighters the same route and it has been a while since he has had any other big time promoters in the uk to challenge to him. Now Matchroom have come about and FW hasn't raised his game.
His fighters are no longer happy with 2 fights a year max then going for a WBO title when the time is right.
I have tickets for the show this weekend with Groves and I have tickets for the Burns show, happy it's been postponed my wallet isn't going to be arse raped after all. My bank card has been sweating like Barrymore at a pool party recently.
