Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Ruslan Provodnikov - Saturday night fight/chat thread
:pimp2: This might actually be a good fight on HBO Saturday night. Provodnikov is a tough little Russian pug and Bradley "lost" his last fight to Pacquiao. I'd love to see Ruslan pull off the upset and win the WBO title.
March 16
At Carson, Calif. (HBO): Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Ruslan Provodnikov, 12 rounds, for Bradley's WBO welterweight title; Jessie Vargas vs. Wale Omotosu, 10 rounds, welterweights; Andy Ruiz vs. Matthew Greer, 8 rounds, heavyweights; Jessie Magdaleno vs. Carlos Fulgencio, 8 rounds, junior featherweights.
As much as i'd love to see Provo win, i'll say Bradley wins a controversial SD.

Bradley by UD. Bradley is a fierce competitor and stays busy. Bradley is fast on his feet and has fast hands.
Provodnikov is tough, has better power, but is easy to hit.
Provodnikov says he coming straight ahead and throwing progressively harder punches.
Bradley says he's feeling good, hitting hard, and if a KO presents it's self he'll take it.
Should be a good show. I don't hold bad decisions against fighters but I hope Bradley does not win another iffy decision.

Do you think this fight will draw over 400 fans?

Probably not too many casual fans @bzkfn , Bradley is not exactly exciting, and most fans have never heard of Provodnikov, but us hardcore fans will check it out. I wouldn't be surprised to see a pretty good crowd turn out in Carson, California for a fight that's being shown on HBO.
As far as fights go this shouldn't be too bad, I believe Provodnikov will test Bradley who isn't known for having a lot of power.
Freddie Roach discusses upcoming fight between Tim Bradley, Jr. and Ruslan Provodnikov:

I'd say Bradley will have too much for him. Good undercard fight with Jessie Vargas v Wale Omotoso. Omotoso is a good strong welterweight. I'm not a big fan of Vargas. I could see an upset here

Re: Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Ruslan Provodnikov - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Bradley on points followed by a Manny rematch. Rios wins again in a fortnight and fights Marquez.

The fight I would like to see is Marquez-Bradley. It would be worth more for Marquez's legacy and is a tougher out than Rios. I'm just not sure Marquez would take the fight. given the risk, unless the money was more than I expect it to be.

Maybe Arum does it that way but I'm guessing he does it the way I said. Manny gets a revenge win over a guy we know he can beat, Marquez beats Rios then Manny Marquez 5.

Re: Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Ruslan Provodnikov - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Its neat that Roach is training Provodnicock, but I don't think he has a great chance in this one. He's #10 in the world fighting a guy who is #4 (behind Floyd, Marquez and Manny). That kind of disparity can make for a competitive fight, but rarely does the #10 contender prevail.
Provodnicock does have punching power and a vengeful, smart cornerman on his side.

Re: Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Ruslan Provodnikov - Saturday night fight/chat thread
As much as I hate to think it let alone type it out, I think Rios wears down Marquez and ends his career. Marquez was pushed to the limit by Juan Diaz in 2009....I think Rios is bigger & badder, I hate the little fucker but he's a good fighter.
I would like to see JMM or Rios vs Bradley, I don't think Ruslan has a chance vs him too slow, too stiff, too easy to hit.

That would be a shame to see JMM lose to a cock like Rios only because he is old. Rios v Bradley would be good.

Yeah...but at some point in time that constant pressure can wear down even an elite boxer like JMM.

Re: Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Ruslan Provodnikov - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Really like this fight...wish I made a thread about it ;D. I favor Bradley over 12 but if he in anyway or fashion is overlooking Provo he is in for a rude awakening and never underestimate judges indirectly looking to right a wrong. Just saying. Provo is a very capable body puncher with high volume and at some point these boys are going to be in a phone booth and slug.
Tim is taking this for one reason only and thats to look very good and he will fancy himself a puncher here and sell out for right hands, something he very much needs to get away from.

Re: Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Ruslan Provodnikov - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Bigger fan of the overall card than the main event. Love watching Andy Ruiz Jr, Wale Omotoso is always fun and the Lithuanian (who's name I'm not even going to try to spell) was fantastic in the Olympics. Very interesting undercard.

Intrigued by Vargas/ Omotoso

You could be right bro, but i'm expecting a competitive fight, however if Bradley 'dominates' it will be a fucking snoozer.

You're welcome to do any of the fight/chat threads, I just do most them because i'm sort of expected to, and nobody else seems to want to.
My thoughts on the fight are Provo puts up a good effort, but just falls short on the score cards. I'd love to see Provo kick Bradley's lying ass and/or for continuing to act like he beat Pacquiao. I had Pac winning at least 8 of the 12 rounds, so fuck Bradley, he's just a fucking punk in my book.

The Bradley fight is on Box Nation! No other Top Rank cards as yet but that changes my plans and I'm going to watch it live. See all the usual suspects tomorrow night. :)

That is a bit unfair on Bradley because he did not score the fight as he is more than prepared to have the rematch. BTW you are doing a great job on the fight threads, keep up the good work.

But the little dickhead is acting like he beat Pacquiao, which is total bullshit. Of course he's prepared to have the rematch, it would be another big payday he doesn't really deserve.
As for the fight/chat threads, thank-you sir, I do what I can do. ;)

I'm expecting a competitive fight, Bradley will more than likely win but I don't se him having it all his own way. I haven't seen the other guy fight but reading up on him he is a tough bastard and he looks in good shape.

Should be a great fight. I think the belt will change hands tonight.
