Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Andrea Ward has offered to come down to 160lb to fight Mayweather;D
It wont happen because Ward cant draw flys to shit BUT if it did happen id take Mayweather.
Just because the fight would be at 160 doesn't mean that Floyd would come in that high.

Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
can Ward really expect him to come up to 160?
ward just needs to keep fighting and he is very tallentent so the big fights will come
as far as i remember he has had 1 fight since the super six against a weight drained dawson
fight dawson again at light heavy
-
Must be hard for ward to accept that he just cant draw crowds.
He needs to step up to light heavy and destroy hopkins and clevely or perhaps do a catchweight with martinez.
Floyd could never do 160.
Ward is using mayweather to piggyback some interest in his career as any name associated with the money man generates £££
Ward is a nice fella and i hope he can get two fights for this year
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
If Ward can make 160, his fight schedule should be . . .
Martinez
Canelo
Jcc Jr
GGG
If Floyd can make 160
Canelo
Martinez
In neither is the other. They will never meet but they both are talented fighters and should respect that in each other.

No need. The fight was so one sided the networks wouldn't buy it at this stage.
-
Ward destroyed dawson.
Great performance.
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
yes he did, perhaps it wouldnt be a good idea, its a fight tho that would silence all the weight drained critics
he should move up in my opinion whoever he fights, he could fight the winner of froch kes? would he travel tho?

You almost sound worried about Floyd. If you are, don't be, Floyd is not stupid.
If Floyd took this fight at 160, every one would be surprised including Ward.
Ward is his own worst enemy, he basically cruised through the super six then made Dawson look like a fool. Nobody wants to fight him plus the money isn't there, he should revisit the super six, to see who's interested and jump on anyone who calls him out.
I know his shoulder has been bothering him, but now that has been taken care of, he has to fight more, that's what the fans want.

Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
P4P Ward beats 2013 Floyd IMHO
-
Ward isn't trying to piggy back off Floyd, Floyd ripped him for no reason just because he and Guerrero are friends. Stupid. James Prince said it best when he said he knows the blueprint on how to "make millions and actually keep them" for Ward.
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Still, it is a stupid thing for Ward to say that. You would fight a man who typically fights at 147 and nobody else in the division? Pfft.
The man is dull, dull, dull. He is a nowhere man so nowhere that he is calling out WW's. He would be a corpse at 160 and would get pot shotted to death even by a smaller Mayweather who is a much better boxer.
I find it strange that people are so high on Ward as he still looks a bit rubbish to me. He's an average fighter with exceptional spoiling know how. He is not a man who would ever walk on water, so the nickname just makes him look like a Bible bashing philistine. Floyd for all his annoyances truly is a great fighter and though I hate the name 'money' it is at least realistic.
It is a fight that will never happen as Bibles and spoiling tactics just puts most people off. 'Who's that cross eyed weirdo with the butting style who thinks he is Jesus?'. It doesn't really correlate with most people who like boxing.

James prince is nothing on al haymon.
Fight will never happen anyway so ward needs to start making his next match up.

Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Sounds a little desperate.

Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
There's a new statement, a full Ward explanation on the hype now.

I know where you are coming from, Hopkins has the same affect on me, everything about him puts me off.
I think you have the wrong idea about SOG though. SOG does mean Jesus Christ, but a second meaning is any person responding to God or acknowledging God as Father. Rom. 8:14.
To keep things perfectly clear, that definition and Bible ref. came straight out of Dictionary.com.
Getting back to Ward, I like him because he does not trash talk or disrespect other fighters out side of the ring.
Hey, I have to put up with Hopkins and you have to put up with Ward, that's boxing.
I don't like it either.

Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Personally i think Ward's handlers will have to offer Mayweather way more than 160 pound
, Floyd will want paying way more than that.
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Why doesn't he call out Bhop? Or fight Sergio at 160? Floyd is a WW.
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Ward wants to fight a small WW at MW?
What about all of the other guys who actually fight at 160?
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Ward is getting intimations of boxing mortality rehabbing from his shoulder surgery and is thinking about making as much as he can. He was talking about a Hopkins PPV fight too and a Mayweather fight is an even bigger fantasy than a Hopkins PPV fight. He's just really really short of lucrative options and desperate to land one.
If you don't knock people out and you're not interesting/controversial outside the ring then no matter how good you are you're limited in how much you can earn per fight. It's his own fault for not being a cunt.

When people are paying to watch him fight I would call the way he "fights" cuntish;)
He just isn't pay per view material so he's desperately looking for a pay per view opponent. I do remember that Mayweather was in the same boat and wasn't pay per view until he fought Gatti and ruined him. He needed that opponent, but he wasn't trying to drag someone out of their comfort zone, he moved up a weight,

I answered the question and said I would be willing to fight Floyd at 160 if that fight ever came about. My response was intercepted by certain websites. They took what I said and put it on their website with misleading headlines about me calling out Floyd Mayweather.
I've been in boxing a long time and rule number 1 is you don't call somebody out that's three weight classes lower than you. You also don't call somebody out who has a fight coming up, and I'm not in a position to call anybody out right now because I'm rehabbing my shoulder. I'm not a guy that says things for shock value or says things to get headlines. I respected what Floyd has done for the sport before he said what he said and I respect what Floyd has done for our sport after he said what he said. We had a difference and that's what it is. What I'm not going to allow to happen is this thing to escalate and there be some long-standing beef or problem between me and Floyd Mayweather when that's not the case, so it's done. I don't have no problems with Floyd Mayweather. It was squashed the other day. I answered the question and it got blown way out of proportion.
At the end of the day, this isn't about me. The fans shouldn't be focused on me and Floyd. They should be focused on Floyd Mayweather and Robert Guerrero. They got a big fight coming up. It's a fight that's good for both fighters and it's a fight that's good for boxing. May the best man win.
Off FH

Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Ward has been turned down by Hopkins and with good reason as Ward is a younger version of B Hop and would beat him. Ward now seems to want to take on Floyd, if he could make the weight he would be too big for Floyd. The fight will not happen, and if Floyd can fight at middleweight he should take on Sergio, the real middleweight champion.
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Martinez wouldn't agree to random testing;)
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
i think floyd would beat him if ward had to come in on fight night at 160 but if not then he would be around 175 fight night and thats just crazy

Pound for pound? You guys are nuts. Ward doesn't do a single thing Floyd isn't better at and he isn't NEARLY as athletic.
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
I have a ?
How can anyone take this shit seriously?
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
..never happen.
Seriously, this welterweight wouldn't even fight other elite welters, called up little guys and old men (and then further stacked the deck against his handpicked opponents.)
Dolts.

Bigger name and more money! You win against Floyd and everyone knows your name, everyone in the US anyway.

Not nuts mate just realistic...
Floyd can't stay young forever and he relies on his reflexes , speed and defence loads.
I actually think Floyds in deep.shit with Guerrero ;-)
-
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
lemme undestand this.
a guy who makes a million a fight is offering what to a guy thats made 40-50 million a fight?
what does Andre Hug Of God Ward think he brings to the table?

So you're going off of the assumption that Floyd will suddenly get old and completely lose his reflexes or something? That's the only way he wouldn't be a vastly superior boxer to Andre Ward. Let me know what you think after he beats the crap out of Guerrero I guess;)

Shit-talking has always been popular in boxing and if Ward had allied world class shit-talking with winning every fight he'd be a PPV attraction now and not in the situation he's in.
-
He's not exactly in a bad situation. He's a nice local attraction, he has made good money and like James Prince said he's "looking to make millions and actually hold on to them." He got berated for knowing Guerrero growing up and for supporting a childhood friend. He just beat the hell out of Mayweathers good friend Chad Dawson and I'm sure that made Mayweather upset too. Who cares, no point in talking all this because it wouldn't even be appealing and would never happen.

All the more reason to respect him, Ward is one of the good guys in boxing, in my opinion.

Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
to be honest, who can Ward fight ? Mayweather isn't happening 100 %. Martinez isn't happening 99%. He beat Froch and Kessler easily. Oosthuizen (spelling may not be right) could be next in line. Ward has been too dominant for his own good lol
