I understand the Vitali over johnson due to longevity??? How about Liaston? Yes Holyfield is definitely my #10 if I think about it now. Yet he couldnt really beat Bowe who was not such a big deal according to many, MANY on this forum. Nor could he beat Lewis either time.
Re: Top 10 Heavyweights of All Time (in no particular order)
Sorry but Vitali can never be top ten, the guys just weren't there for him to fight :-/

Loving Brockton's top10 lists all over the years. I should have recorded those lists for statistic use.
Cool click, points given.
;D

I honestly don't think too much of Johnson or Dempsey. Liston , Holyfield and Vitali would smoke them both
Re: Top 10 Heavyweights of All Time (in no particular order)
Interesting lists but there is a fighter noticeably missing on all of them so far.

List wise I'd have to give it some thought but the man I hinted at would most definitely be in my top 10. More ko's then Tyson, Foreman and Valero combined. Top 10 welter. Top 10 middle. Top 5 super middle. Top 3 light heavyweight. Easy top 10 heavyweight. And he was 5 foot 7.
Re: Top 10 Heavyweights of All Time (in no particular order)
Well out of the list I say Holyfeild should be up there I rate him over Tyson on resume alone. Say what you want about Bowie but Holyfeild was the only one to beat him and had to deal with over 30 pounds of weight advantage. As for Lewis the rematch was a close one and Holyfeild was 37 by then and almost beat him at such a late age as well. I think Longevity is important but resume has to be there as well reason I have trouble with every era that is not the 70's or the 90's because they were so stacked.
Re: Top 10 Heavyweights of All Time (in no particular order)
I cringe at people calling Marciano a heavyweight. I know he was in his day, but come on, if he faced any of the decent fighters of the last 30 years he'd of been destroyed.
Excluding the last few years of course.

I agree-- my eyes were recently opened up whilst watching the manassa Mauler vs several opponents. I wasnt very impressed with that rushing in like a ram and grappling and holding type of shit. Even Marciano looked more ballerina-like than Dempsey, which is really saying something isnt it. Dempsey has to be questioned in a way I think, I took a fresh look at him and I think guys like Holyfield could take his shots and fire back and smoke him. No way does jacki beat Holmes or Lewis or any of the big guys. Riddick Bowe smokes Willard, so no way does Demosey get away with tat Willard shit vs Bowe. I say Andrew Golota smokes Dempsey even.
Who does Dempsey smoke? Dempsey vs Marciano woulda been some bomb-out slugfest

A bomb-out slugfest that ends with Dempsey warming up a cheek on the canvas.

Dempsey fought at 188. Thats just a pound or 3 over what Rocky fought at.
