Tyson Fury - The Best Fighter on the Planet
“I’m the best fighter on the planet – including all sizes, because there is not a man born from his mother who can beat Tyson Fury,” he said.
Tyson Fury claims he is the best fighter in the world - SportsNewsIRELAND
I think he may be right. The way he has decimated everybody put in front of him and avoided nobody. The classy way he handles himself and the great combinations that he throws. Awesome power too, If I was a bantamweight I would have to think very seriously before getting into a ring with such a monster.
The real question remains though
"Is there a man not born from his mother who can beat the Mighty Tyson Fury?"

I watched that press conference. He makes me laugh and cringe. He might be a great big thicko but he's entertainment

Re: Tyson Fury - The Best Fighter on the Planet
I saw Fury fight Maddalone last summer as one of his fights was televised and I thought he was rubbish TBH, but people seemed to be getting high on it. 'You do know it was Vinny Maddalone, right?' I would venture to faces that didn't seem to understand. After all, he won the fight and was undefeated. The same people talk about Khan in such positive spirits too though now minus the unbeaten record, these are not boxing fans, they are sporting nationalists.
Fury won't go far as he just isn't very good. He would be an ideal Klitschko opponent.

Now I'm a southpaw and I have a pretty good straight left and right hook, and when I watch him I always think, he doesnt look powerful and if I hit him he would just go away, not a good thought for a heavyweight boxer to give someone.
Not like when you watch tyson demolish people, now fuck that, or marcianos propellor of punches, hell no. Maybe vitalis granite jaw and smashing straight.
Fury is a prick, he's annoying, he's illiterate (follow him on twitter, omfg), he's boring, powerless, he's a self harming boxer (he punches himself).
He's not even in my top 10. He'd be lucky to even make top ten in my super middleweight list, fighting as a heavyweight.

The only person that thinks Tyson Fury is the best fighter on the planet is Tyson Fury. (and Possibly Ross ;D)The complete bollocks that you just trotted out about Khan though bears some re-examination. Khan is an incomparably better boxer than Fury. Nationalism has nothing to do with it. Khan has been in with Kotelnik, Malignaggi, Maidana,Mckloskey,Judah,Peterson,Garcia and Diaz amongst others whereas Fury has fought at nowhere near that level of competition. Khans hand speed and punch output marks him out as an exciting and decent boxer something that can't really be said about Fury who has nowhere near Amir's level of ability. It is Ironic that in the rush to accuse people of being blinded by non-objective patriotism you can not recognise the same lack of objectivity in your own biased damnation of Khan.

Re: Tyson Fury - The Best Fighter on the Planet
Also I don't really See what type of Sporting Nationalist is going to get behind An English born Born boxer who apparently sees himself as being Irish.
“I think have showed my true colours over the years. I vacated the British and Commonwealth titles, which some people say are more prestigious than the Irish title, but not to me. I vacated those belts for an Irish title shot because it meant more to me,” Fury said.
“All my people are from Ireland. I was born in Manchester but I am Irish. I have lived in Ireland, visited all my life and when I fight I represent Ireland. It means a lot to me as does the support I get when I fight in Belfast.
“Even when I was disowned by some when I wanted to fight for Ireland in the Olympics I still said I was Irish. Right from the start of my career I always had the Irish colours with me and when I win a World title it will be for Ireland.”
I suppose Irish nationalism is OK with you anyway Miles, as Long As he isn't proud to be English then everything is hunky Dory. Can't see the Irish queuing up to get behind him though.

Yeah last time I watched him fight I thought he looked alright, but put him in there with Vendettos and he'll be in a coma for weeks. ;)

If he was black with a bald head, he would be right up your alley. Right? You should try to respect everyone who gets in the ring.
Gandalf, if all those useless second and third tier fighters were not around, how would you know whose nether regions to focus your attention on or complain about?

I agree Fury will become the best heavyweight fighter on the planet given time and experience.

I quite like Fury. Granted he isn't particularly good, but he's usually in fairly entertaining fights and he can be quite funny outside the ring. I remember before the Chisora fight he was going through London on a horse-drawn cart with a megaphone asking if anyone had seen Chisora ;D

Now that was a genuine stroke of genius. As If Harold Steptoe had popped through a worm hole into reality. ;D Fury is still a dick though. For an English heavyweight to be so difficult to warm too takes a lot of hard work. He has shot himself in the foot gradually alienating all sections of any fanbase he could have had.:-\

Yeah he isn't world class, despite what he thinks.

Re: Tyson Fury - The Best Fighter on the Planet
I loved the quote " I dont care if he is 7'3 tall Steve Cunningham is in big trouble"
Well Tyson the fact is , Steve Cunningham is a blown up cruiser , and he is in fact 6'3 , and not a big puncher , which is why Fat Mick picked him for your next bout.
He has also lost 3 of his last 4 fights and has 1 win as a HW.
Its hard not to shake your head at this idiotic prick.

Re: Tyson Fury - The Best Fighter on the Planet
I think to myself how a Fury vs Brewster/Liakhovich fight would have gone. In their short times at the top those dudes were pretty solid heavyweights. They would have been exciting fights because I don't think Fury knows how to box all that well, he's an arm punching brawler. Shannon Briggs would have been good competition for him too...Shannon could probably still knock him down or hurt him.

yeah its true that, if youre a decent english HW you only have to be half a nice guy to get the english public to back you
he'll make a lot of money probably being the bad guy but he would probably have made a lot more with the publish backing

Re: Tyson Fury - The Best Fighter on the Planet
Tyson Fury is just now stepping up to fight ....well people I've heard of. Given his age, and his skillset, who do you think is the best fighter out there that Fury can actually beat?
Ruslan Chagaev? Alexander Povetkin? Kubrat Pulev? David Price?
What's the limit of his skill? Where is the ceiling to his talent?
-
Del Chisora after he has emptied the donought shop.

Fury should win this but even some experienced posters on here think Steve can beat Fury.

Yes and that sums up how crap Fury is, as Steve is no HW.
