That's incredible....I've never, ever read any where, not once, which day god made the dinosaurs. And who has ever heard of a cow with sharp teeth?!?

If so the teacher needs to be sacked. That is the blatant abuse of a childs mind and is truly sickening.
They are trying to do a similar thing with climate change in America and it is just terrifying how dumbed down people are becoming.
When you erase science and logic and rely on one dimensional religious texts then any pretence at progress is lost.
Honestly, in this country, at least, the whole concept of 'education' or 'information' has been warped beyond recognition. The intention is not to educate or inform, for it's own sake and value, but to indoctrinate. To "teach" people what to think, instead of how to think.Quote:

And if there is a "God", it doesn't make sense to me that he would wait to the 6th day to create dinosaurs...How would you prioritize a list like that? Would creating Kate Upton go ahead of or fall behind creating big old small brained lizards? And then what does that list tell us about the nature of "God" and how seriously he should be taken? Do you have to wait until grade 5 or 6 to explore these issues?

There was a case a year or so ago where a judge was being paid per juvenile by a privately operated prison to send them kids so they could be made to work for a dollar a week in prison to make money for the private prison firm. The judge went to jail but apparently shit like this is happening all over.
EDIT: You can be sent to prison for breaking wind. It's a good job I didn't go to school in Mississippi or I'd have been put on death row.
That type of stuff is in no way limited to the South. In 'enlightened' California, they are in a hurry to get everybody into the system ASAP. One of the young men that I taught to box got hooked up over wearing pants that were too baggy. The school dress code allowed baggy pants, no more than 2 sizes too large. The security guard deemed that his were at least 4 sizes too large, there was an argument, an altercation and the police were called.Quote:

Something similar happened up here, actually in one of the eastern Montana ranching/farming communities. A girl had been out early hunting antelope with her father and went to school with her rifle in the trunk of her car. A teacher overheard her telling her friend that she had the rifle and wanted to call the sheriff. But the principal stopped that, got the girl's rifle and held it in his office until end of school, when he returned it to her.
No follow up on whether she filled her antelope tag, however.
