As brilliant as Ronnie is he's getting right on my nerves with the way he talks whether he means it or not. Really hope Trump turns him over. I should like Trump being a Bristol boy but its hard work, summink about him.
O'Sullivan aside who has looked out of this world at times its all seemed a bit shit, really bitty and riddled with mistakes.
was just driving home and thinking I would come on and say same thing. I love watching Ronnie play but he should keep his mouth shut.
The games made him a multi millionaire and he has said shit like...
"snooker's not for me"
"I only came back to get some money to pay the school fees"
"there's light at the end of the tunnel - it doesn't have to go on any longer"

I really wanted him to win but after today I have to ask does he deserve to ?? Slagging the game off that made him. Three weeks ago he sad he wanted to be the first man to win it in his 40s ffs .
But he is right that snooker has gone to shit - its a shame this isn't teh final and I bet Barry Hearn is gutted it isn't. Not one player has won two tournaments this season. You need a dominant figure.
Whoever wins this one will romp the final I am sure - and I can see Ronnie having a session where Trump doesn't get a sniff so it will probably be him.

"Snooker on it's arse?" The game has never been bigger. There were only 3 TV channels when snooker became a hit in the 80s.
Its on its arse as far as most Brits are concerned. I don't know anyone who watches it any more - but plenty are doing now Ronnie back.

I dont pay much attention to be honest until the World Champs come around but thats been no different since I was a kid.
I read today that the Crucible has two years left on its contract as the venue for the World Championships. After that it'll go to China. The global audience has and will increase but on the home front we'll have to do without our fortnight of snooker per year unless you're sky'd up or you have snooker TV or whatever's sure to come.
It still gets millions of viewers in the UK (which pisses over most sports), and the Crucible was sold out before the event even started. So it's not doing too bad for a dying sport.
Also It's not just China where it's massive, thanks to Eurosport, which covers the entire tour (over 20 tournaments), the popularity throughout Europe has gone through the roof. The German Masters is played in a 3000 seat venue, which is packed out all week.

But the interest will never be same in UK again I am sure of that. I used to watch everything as most people did my age – now I keep a close eye on worlds only and will tune in if O’Sullivan playing. That’s it.
Hendry raised a good point other day that all the advantages are with Judd Trump especially with him being young and single. I can understand fully why the family men don’t want to travel and do the full circuit. Their rankings will suffer as a result
And as for Walden – he ain’t fit to lick Doug Mountjoy’s boots
If I win the pools and fly everyone to a Saddo meet there will be a snooker table and darts in the bar. A boxing ring with those large gloves or body suits and ring card girls serving lap dancing etc.
Yeah it will never reach the popularity it had in the eighties but it's a completely different world now.
If Walden lands my bet I'll lick his balls and his boots. He already won me a torurnament @50/1 earlier in the season. Come on Walden!

Ronnie is acting like a spoilt child bit I want him to win the tournament but losing to Judd may be the kick up the arse he needs to give him a reality check that he cannot just turn up to tournaments and win when he feels like it.
good of Ronnie to come back as he was a bit bored and wanted something to do. Do love watching him play - what must the rest of the pro make of it. Bet Selby really feels like the world no. 1 tonight.......
