FNF...Thursday night version!
I'll take it anyway I can get it ;D We're talking fight cards here not dating life. Just a small appetizer leading to a good weekend of matches.
Not a bad card really. In the main go busy and capable Mauricio Herrera 18-3 (7) takes on face first network staple in Ji-Hoon Kim 24-8-2 (18). Nice style mesh. Herrera has been in with Alvarado, lost to bore snore Mayfield and has wins over Mike Dallas jr and a biggie over Ruslan Provodkin. Kim comes in off a solid scrap with Ray Beltran but is getting long in the tooth fast. I think Herrera gets it on the cards and Kim will go all out for the ko.
Miguel Acosta 29-6-2 (23) tries to claw his way back to relevance on a high level and meets a long delayed and often distracted Miquel Gonzalez 20-3 (15).
Hope to get some pre Mayweather-Guerrero interviews and insight...and why do you just KNOW Teddy is going to pick Guerrero ;D No chance of delay on tonights 9 pm start as an hour of Tysons early kos will air prior. Aight, ring the bell

Sorry bud, I have natas. Great flick though, the first 10,11 times ;D
Outdoor ring. Love that! Southpaw Gonzalez in dire need of a haircut but real relaxed. Acosta looks bulky, cold and second guessing.
-
Just watched some of Tyson's KOs, he was a monster.
7:00 PM in Southern CA. Beautiful day.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Acosta warmed to the mix and drops Gonzalez with a stuffed upper to chest! Gonzalez up and steady but mass confidence goes to Acosta in 2nd.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Bit of a chess match in 3rd. Gonzalez lands hard and thought he buzzed Acosta with right then Acosta really comes on to end round. Gonzalez is going to have to decide he wants to set his feet and hurt him!
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Good round 4 for Gonzalez.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Very physical 5th round, Gonzalez roughs him up...Acosta throws a punch and falls over and upon rising gets cranked hard with left and dropped at rounds end! Acosta looks shakey in corner.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
6th sees Gonzalez do well early and Acosta stuns him near end. These fellas are taking turns!
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Gonzalez doing very well over last three from here. Stopping Acosta in his tracks, boxing smart and Acosta is lumping up. Last round and Acosta needs to do something huge
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Acosta being hit clean and busted up in mouth, riding the ropes and not doing much at all. Gonzalez lands 3,4 straight lefts to end round and fight. I got Gonzalez pulling away down the stretch for solid win.
Not a bad fight

Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Judges 97-91 96-92 95-93 all to Gonzalez
I'm really tired of seeing Guerreros father...hes a serious distraction.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Can anyone look at Floyd and say he "looks" %100 right? Hes all puffy, slow talking...looks tired man?
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Herrera is touching Kim alot in 1st to both body and head. Kims style has a shelf life and in the 1st Herrera controlled all aspects.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Man, Herrera is really killing his body in 2nd. Kims heart could drive an army but he cannot keep up with the boxing of Herrera.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Kim drops hands and waves Herrera in...Herrera shows blood under the nose. Ref warns Kim for cuffing head
Ref warns Herrera for 'spinning'. That was micro managing bs. Better round for Kim but Herrera cannot miss him.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Good fight so far. Kim's power doesn't seem to be bothering Herrera so far.

I was wondering about that, what's wrong with spinning a guy if you're basically just utilizing superior foot work? Is it actually against the rules?
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Ohhh dude. Kim goes dirty and bouncing in with shoulder..pogo style. Saw Tony Martin get a broken jaw like that once, dirty crap

Totally. He did it well, looked like a matador. Not like he pushed or tripped him. Guy gets sloppy...make him pay.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Herrera is a far better crafty boxer than 18 wins would lead a guy to believe...Kim getting closer in 5th but paying underneath.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Kim closes distance well and takes it to Herrera most of 6th, Herrera stops Kim in his tracks with solid right at end and stuffs 6 inch punches underneath...nice gritty round!
5-1 Herrera here
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Kim is lucky Herrera doesn't have much power.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Kim's corner should think about stopping this. The few times Kim has actually landed, he hasn't bothered Herrera.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Dude. Herrera landing everything in 7th...Kim is all balls and big heart right here
Teddy ONCE again calling on commissions to 'watch' Kim..in not so many words.

Couple of tough guys, with Kim's body it makes you wonder how in the hell he can take all those body shots.
Herrera is a punch eating monster too.

Suprised how he recovered really. It looked like those body shots had him bending early. Herrera just let up on the ribs yeh. Provo cranked Herrera a few and I'm not sure he blinked

Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Annnd there goes my link. Goddamnit.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
In a way this is why its better for a guy like Kim to get sparked by one and early...hes catching smallish punches from a 7 ko Herrera but his brain is still doing a slam dance off of every single one
Tough round in 9th! Herrera uses ropes and Kim stands right in his chest. all round
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Back just in time to see the end of the 9th and the rest of the fight. Kim is going to be lucky if he can remember his address when he's 30 after the beatings he takes.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Helluva 10th. Props to both as they let it hang out at end. Gotta go 98-92 Herrera.
-
Re: FNF...Thursday night version!
Time for Kim to start thinking long and hard...Herrera takes it 99-91 x2 and 98-92.
Cheers dudes.

A classic example of a fighter being too tough for his own good, but you have to admire his mental toughness.
Have to agree with Teddy, if Kim had better training earlier in his career, he would he a bitch for anyone at his weight to handle.
Good win for Herrera, he earned it easily on the score cards, even if his face didn't show it.
