Reports show that promoter eddie hearn will not entertain a fight with hopkins due to weight issues and mentioned that 48 year old hopkins should fight cleverly instead.
Eddie certainly recognises the danger that hopkins still presents.
Your thoughts on how a froch vs hopkins fight would play out..
@imp - it's not fair to suggest that Froch should go up in weight to face Hopkins, then to say in a different thread that Mayweather shouldn't go up in weight to face Canelo. In my opinion, if a fighter can make weight comfortably, he shouldn't be criticized for fighting at that weight. If Froch walks around at 170, and can make 168 without an issue, then he shouldn't be criticized for not jumping up to 175. Has he ever fought at 175 before?Quote:

In my opinion no fighter should be changing weight unless he has cleaned up the division and there is nobody else to fight worth while.

I am a fan of froch and hopkins and would like to see this fight like many others and never suggested that froch is DUCKING hopkins.

Hopkins and Froch are the same height and have the same reach. A few pounds in weight doesn't mean much at their weight. Calzaghe went to Vegas and moved up in weight to fight Hopkins and now Froch won't move up a few pounds to fight a much older Hopkins at home. I bet Hopkins would even do a catchweight. Hopkins just wants a chunk of a Sky PPV fight.

To be honest, when they announced Calzaghe v Hopkins I thought what a fucking waste of time Hopkins doesnt mean anything but to be fair he has gone on to have some very good results. Giving Pavlik his first loss (all be it by dragging him up a weight), Pascal and Cloud.
Im sure more people put their head in their hands and groan when a decent fighter is scheduled to face Hopkins because in my eyes it is a waste of time. All we are watching is so eone who is clever at getting away with a few things like Ward. It doesnt fill anyone with excitement to know a Hopkins or Ward fight is on its way:-X
