Re: Hardest Punchers in Boxing History, EVER!!!
Jack Johnson, sure he fought to a lot of decisions, but any time you punch someone (Stanley Ketchel) so hard that their teeth end up stuck to your glove then you can crack!

Re: Hardest Punchers in Boxing History, EVER!!!
All the usual suspects have been mentioned, but one that always gets overlooked is Edwin Rosario. A fantastic puncher who probably is in the top 5 hardest hitting Lightweights of all time.
Pipino Cuevas another fantastic puncher who gets underrated because of the Hearns loss.

Re: Hardest Punchers in Boxing History, EVER!!!
Danny little Red Lopez, Khaosai Galaxy, Bummy Davis, Rodrigo Valdez, Arguello.

Re: Hardest Punchers in Boxing History, EVER!!!
SRR, RJJ, and Shaver. The First two KO'd people who'd never even touched the canvas with a single punch and Shaver..well everyone knows he hits like a truck.

Re: Hardest Punchers in Boxing History, EVER!!!
Acelino Freitas could really crack too, he started his career 29-0 (29 KOs)
His come from behind KO of hit n run scumbag Barrios was epic.

Re: Hardest Punchers in Boxing History, EVER!!!
When you're talking about p4p knockout ability with either hand, the discussion starts and ends with Julian Jackson IMO. He dropped bombs like a MW Mike Tyson (Tyson himself claimed Julian was a HW trapped in a MW's body).
Boxing had a ton of great bombers, but p4p Julian was the KO King.

Re: Hardest Punchers in Boxing History, EVER!!!
I am rather new to boxing so you guys put up a lot of names I am not familiar with. Gives me something to research. I always thought Foreman was one of the hardest hitting. I saw someone mention Max Baer, he was scary. Interesting to see someone mention Lucas it will be interesting to see how his career will play out.

@IamInuit No way would I have Tito Trinidad as one of the hardest punchers in the game ever. In his biggest fights, he wasn't really stopping/hurting his opponent. He had a decent dig, but surely can't make this list?

Those fights were at 160 or above. Even "Manos de Piedra" Duran was unable to carry his power up through the weight divisions. Not being able to knock out Hopkins is hardly a knock on Trinidad's power, given that Hopkins was a natural middleweight, and has never been knocked out in his long career. Winky Wright was never knocked out in his career either... and Trinidad finally fought Roy Jones at what... 170? I think Felix belongs on that list.

Re: Hardest Punchers in Boxing History, EVER!!!
In terms of big bangers, I always put emphasis on the two-handed bombers. Guys like Hearns, Trinidad, Frazier, Foster, ect get brought up a lot in these discussions, and rightly so because they sent a lot of guys to the hospital, but they were known primarily for one power hand (or in some cases, one power punch). Tommy's piston right and Foster's cannonball left hook were two of the deadliest punches in boxing history, but Tommy didn't really knock a whole lot of people out (if any) with his left hand, nor Foster with his right.
Guys like Jackson, Tyson, Bazooka Gomez, ect could put a guy out with either hand and seemingly with any punch from any angle.

Good to see some props for Randall Bailey.
As one announcer said: "He's got a stick of dynamite attached to his right shoulder"

Re: Hardest Punchers in Boxing History, EVER!!!
Biggest punchers that I've worked with are Ernie Shavers (around 1976) Mike Tyson (1979-1984) Ken Schmidt (1979-1983)!! My opinion is based on heavy bag workouts and working mtts!
However, I believe Big George Foreman is the "heaviest handed" man ever in boxing history! Foreman could hurt any man with his jab alone!! He didn't have the best technique and certainly had little to no speed but his shots were the heaviest and had brutal results!!!
Theres a reason why Eddie Futch hated Frazier fighting him and Cus wanted nothing to do with any aged Forman! Ali on the other hand wanted his title back and had a plan against George that worked. I do believe he was lucky that the envirnment that George was dealing with in Zaire had his mind totally undone and he wanted to get out of there so badly he lost his focus, it happens! Ray
