U forgot the Marco Huck card which should be another cracking fight and James Degale fighing too. Spoiled for choice this weekend.

Re: June 8th!!! Great Weekend 4 Boxing!!! Who U Got?
Joseito Lopez via KO/TKO
Erislandy Lara by decision
Chad Dawson by decision
Gamboa via KO/TKO

M&M by TKO
Augulo by TKO
Stevenson by TKO
Perez by TKO

Re: June 8th!!! Great Weekend 4 Boxing!!! Who U Got?
As of now, we only have the Maidana-Lopez card in the UK. Boxnation are showing it. I think I like Maidana by KO/TKO and a Lara wide UD.

Re: June 8th!!! Great Weekend 4 Boxing!!! Who U Got?
Dawson and Gamboa on one card. On the other I'm still undecided between Lopez ans Maidana. Lopez did really well against Ortiz but I'm probably going with Maidana. But then it's in LA so maybr Lopez on points. I can't understand why Angulo's people agreed to fight Lara. I think Lara strolls it and Angulo stuggles to land anything.

Re: June 8th!!! Great Weekend 4 Boxing!!! Who U Got?
Sweet, I didn't realize these were all this weekend:) All four have great potential at the least, I'm pretty torn on my picks for for Maidana Lopez and Dawson Stevenson. Don't see how Angulo beats Lara, that's an odd fight to take for him.
Has anyone actually seen this Darley Perez guy fight? He's undefeated but hasn't been in with anyone at a glance.

Lara did have a lot of problems against Molina's aggressive rough style, a lot of people thought Molina won the fight. Lara is obviously the safe bet but don't be so sure i think Lara is a bit overrated because of the Williams showing.

This could be the weekend of a few underdogs coming through. I think Stevenson might knock Dawson out in an early stunner and Angulo simply has to find a way to beat Lara. Maidana/Lopez is a tough one. I've only seen Perez a few times and he has extremely fast hands, perhaps top 5 in the sport presently imo. He's as fast as Gamboa. He is much better then his competition might suggest.
If I was a betting man I might throw a few bucks on him.

Maidana vs. Lopez excites me the most and I'll pick Maidana to win that one by late TKO.
Gamboa by UD
Lara by SD
Stevenson I think is the livest underdog as he is a power puncher and hungry, while Dawson is coming off of a very very tough humiliating loss.
Stevenson with a KD or two to get the decision I'll say.

Stevenson is a live underdog. But if he fights as wild and reckless as he did in his last fight he's getting knocked out. And it'll be early too.

Agree with these. Lopez is really poor in my view and expect Maidana to get him out of there quicker then Canello did.
Lara is just horrible to fight against. Would much prefer to see Angulo win but dont think he will
Stevenson can bang and has a chance but Dawson is the better boxer and should avoid danger and win on points.
Dont know much about Perez so its hard to know but he looks handpicked for a KO

Re: June 8th!!! Great Weekend 4 Boxing!!! Who U Got?
Josesito Lopez by UD
Erislandy Lara by UD
Chad Dawson by UD
Yuriorkis Gamboa by TKO 5
I would like to see Lara-Angulo most because I like the style match up. Lara is a rangy boxer with good defense and Angulo pours on the pressure and that could make for a good scrap especially if one of them gets hurt.
-
Re: June 8th!!! Great Weekend 4 Boxing!!! Who U Got?
I watched a couple of rounds of Lopez-Ortiz last night. One thing's for certain, Lopez-Maidana is going to be a slugfest. This could be another FOTY candidate. I'm definitely going to pick one of them before Saturday.

Re: June 8th!!! Great Weekend 4 Boxing!!! Who U Got?
I just can't forget Angulo getting schooled by Kermit Cintron, if he couldn't turn that into a fight I don't see how he gets around Lara enough to make it interesting. I'm fully expecting a straightforward easy decision win for the Cuban.

Re: June 8th!!! Great Weekend 4 Boxing!!! Who U Got?
Maidana over distance in a raw scrap. He looked pretty sharp at new weight, found a jab and wonder how Lopez will come back after roller coaster, not to mention brutal beating at a weight he shouldn't have been at.
Reluctantly and barely going Lara to bore down the pace and win as much with his legs as his hands with Angulo. I just don't think much of Lara at all and he should have a couple more 'L' on his record but Angulo has the boxing imagination of a bologne sandwich, then again I don't think Lara has the mentality to stand at range and rip off hurtful combos. He fights on the cheap, just the way I see it.
Stevenson shocks with tko over Dawson. I think Dawson has been going sideways in career most of the time and Stevenson will not be in awe. Smelling body damage big time.
Gamboa should track down Perez but per norm, he'll square up and get nailed ugly before its over. Gamboa distance.

Dawson was a fool to go down to 168 to fight Ward. But this fight is at 175. He should be at his best. Boxing is a job to Dawson. He doesn't care much for the sport. It shows in the way he fights. Normally that's not a good thing for a fighter. But in this case I think it helps Dawson. It allows him to easily put the Ward loss behind him

Great description of his approach yeh. When I see Dawson, the term pedestrian always comes to mind. But when he gets called on it, forced into a pit off his own terms I think thats when problems come. I attribute the weight as much as Ward being better, and doing just that to Dawson. Watching guys like Dawson or Ward over 12 can be like walking in on the parents having sex as a kid...you wanna stab your eyes out...but Ward gets gritty and grinds. I'm not sold Dawson can just go back to lt hvy after a beating like that and bounce right back. 175 or 168..he was still beat like a drum.

Re: June 8th!!! Great Weekend 4 Boxing!!! Who U Got?
...all this was why I always wanted Tavoris Cloud to get a shot at Dawson. But Cloud's best days are behind him now given the style of fighter he is he was always working on a tight schedule.

Yes!
4 for 4 !
I got em all right, wasn't dead on in regards to the fashion in which they won, but I picked all winners this weekend. That's rare for me. (and for most posters I'd dare say)
