I think Froch v Groves would be good, groves is a good fighter and I like his style.
Pretty sure it's just any one of the 4 HBO are saying they would put up the cash for, in other words Froch is in a pretty damn good way right now to wind down his career. I'm sure a rubber match with Kessler would still be the biggest sell, I don't think there's all that much point myself though. Mikkel left everything he had in the ring after looking pretty shaky in the early rounds of the rematch, I can't see him doing any better in another go.
Probably a stupid question, but I can't think of any HBO cards happening outside of North America lately or ever.. Anyone? Obviously these fights aren't going to happen in the states unless its a Ward rematch.

He said before Kessler he'd only have maybe 2 more fights.
I think he should fight Ward then hand the touch over by fighting Groves.
I mean it is hypocritical if he doesn't after how much he spewed about Joe Calzaghe all them years back.
groves could fight kessler and then froch the winner? :)
HBO showed Froch-Kessler live then repeated it primetime. It got a combined audience of just over a million, which apparently they were pleased with.Quote:

Since when do HBO have fighters under contract? They're looking around for fights now that they've dumped GBP so maybe they're offering Matchroom/Sauerland a date or two. They definitely don't have the ability to get Chavez in the ring with Froch and I can't see Arum wanting to make that fight.

I know golo is willing to go to super middle to make the big fights, but really he needs to stay at middle his not a huge middle or anything. As much as I like jess I don't think he has it anymore to go 12hard rounds as would be required to beat froch, but hell who knows first two were hella fun so wouldn't mind seeing it.
I'd love Froch to take a fight in Vegas later on in the year cus I need an excuse to go to Vegas with the lads!!
Do you think as many Brits that followed Hatton to Vegas would follow Froch? I'm thinking he's getting to that stage now.
Arum doesn't really need them because all of the sudden the Chinese Market seems sexy as hell to him now. Not to mention the Chinese loooooove to gamble, I mean Macau is far bigger than Vegas when it comes to gambling revenue.
Gambling+corruption+Arum+???= Profit.
Hatton was a phenom for that, Calzaghe drew over 55,000 to Cardiff milenium stadium, over 3 times as many that went to Froch v Kessler but even he didnt have as many travelling fans as Hatton, no where near in fact!Quote:

Well they kinda need him. If Arum wanted to he could go independent, Abc or Nbc or as streaming becomes more and more advanced run his whole card off Top Rank TV. I think Hbo may have cooked their own goose.
Hatton brought more people to Vegas than Froch sold tickets for his last fight.

The big promoters defnitely see HD streaming as the future once the world gets superfast broadband. Instead of 30 million HBO subscribers their potential audience is a few billion. But they need an outlet for their fighters in America both to build them and be able to pay competitive purses so that they keep them. Macau and Singapore are OK for Asian fighters but those fights rely on casino money. The big PPV money has to be earned in America.
