Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
Rank the top 5 heavyweights who have shown the most ambition to get ranked for a title shot over the last 12 months, staying busy, fighting ranked opponents etc.
-
Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
1. Bermane Stiverne
2. Kubrat Pulev
3. Robert Helenius
4. Malik Scott
5. Tomasz Adamek
Note: Francesco Pianeta would have topped that list, as Wlad said he showed ambition to get his title shot. Seth Mitchell might have stunk out the place, but he showed ambition avenging his loss.
-
Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
Stiverne has had 1 fight against Arreola who was ranked lower than Cunningham and Johnson...
Sorry, this was just to prove a point that right now, Fury is doing as much as anyone if not more to earn a shot.
;D

You're shitting me? Oh fuck how didn't I crack that code. All you've done is highlight the fact that you don't know shit about boxing. Cunningham had lost 3 of his last 4 when he fought Fury and boxed once at Heavyweight and Kevin Johnson lost in Prizefighter. Neither of these 2 were ranked higher than Arreola.

Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
They were and still are;)
BoxRec Boxing Records
Granted this is boxrec but its a fairer ranking system as no one is getting paid to get ranked, its all on some points system.
Haye is ranked just 2 places higher but fact of the matter is its hard to find anyone who has done more the past 12 months. Joke most of them fighting just once a year, even twice is crap. They should be trying to stay busy and sharp.
-
Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
Ambition and heavyweight are too often strangers ;D He gets no push, but I'm buying into Bryant Jennings wayyyyy before a Seth Mitchell or Scott if we're talking literal ambition! Blah blah size size. I know I know ;D

Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
Fucking grow up...
Anyone would think Fury has been round your houses fingering your mums rather than just talking shit.
Hes fightng regularly. He hasn't conned any money out of you to fight Harrison or to not do anything against Wlad. Hes giving you value for money. He's fighting more than once a year and trying to ranked fighters. The Pulev fight was called off because Haye said he wanted the fight, now he's stalling and finding things to nit pick at like walking to the ring second. This fight will happen. If Fury is so fucking stupid and deluded and Haye really wants the fight, its going to happen. Haye is stalling for some reason, maybe a bgger fight is on the horizon or its a feeble attempt at mind games.

I dont pay for PPV apart from boxnation and either watch it in pub or on stream. Everyone knew the Harrison fight was a joke except fools like you who bought it.

Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
I take this thread to be more or less a commemoration of the most ambitious Saddoboxing forum member over 12 months, and perhaps ever. Ross I've decided to start drawing inspiration from you and Tyson Fury every morning. Where do you get all the energy? Im serious.

You are a very silly little boy, im sure you cry when you read other members finding fault with Fury.

Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
I dont cry over what is written in a boxing forum;D
I like the fact that no one else has even attempted to answer the question knowing full well why it was asked because there really hasn't been a heavyweight out there who has done anything more than Fury over the last 12 months and you have to question why?
They are all scared to lose their rankings.
To come in here and just try and offend me rather than answer the question just shows how childish you are. Others have looked and felt they cant answer so have left it, instead of leaving a pile of shit post.

Bryant Jennings has had a good if not fantastic schedule but again, his opponents aren't that great. At 17 fights, Fury had fought 3 fighters with unblemished records. They werent proven fighters (one was Chisora) but all had ambition themselves at that point and no one else had beaten them.
-
Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
For only 15 fights Artur Szpilka has a good list of names.
Although I dont think hes going too far...

Kubrat Pulev has done way more and as a result, Fury ran from him. Are you blind? Or do you just have terrestrial TV?

i like pulev too, think he looks good
-
Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
He does look a proper fighter, getting stuck in and working. Only problem I can see for him is hes not much of a puncher. Alot of his shots do land against the level hes been fighting but they arent putting them all away.

Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
Their all ambishes thats not the problem!!!! The problem is none of them could fight! Ray

I agree with Ray on this one. None of them can fight. WE're just so goddam bored with the heavyweight bullshit artists that we're hoping 1 of these guys has promise. When in fact, if Pulev or Fury or Wladimir or Sam Peter or David Haye fought in the early 70s WE WOULDNT EVEN HAVE HEARD OF THOSE WANKERS. Jerry Quarry wolda got em all outta there in his pre-title fights. JOe Bugner woulda wasted em. Ron Lyle woulda made mince meat out of em. Imagine Pulev against Smokin Joe Frazier. Lights fucking OUT.

He stopped Dimitrenko, he stopped Ustinov, he stopped Sprott he beat Skelton in only his 5th fight. He's progressing nicely and was all ready to fight Fury until brave, title shot deserving Tyson (as you think) refused to fight him in a final elimanator for a shot at Wlad. Again, are you completely blind to these facts?

Fury beat Maddolone, a bum, Johnson, who had just lost to Tor Hamer, and Steve Cunningham, who is a good boxer but clearly has no chance against a big heavyweight. None of this shows any ambition and he is clearly hand picking opponents he will not lose too, yet he still manages to almost lose in the Cunningham fight. Furys lack of ambition is shown by the way he is ducking fights. If he fought Pulev and won he would be mandatory for a world title shot. But he clearly doesnt want it.

Re: Most ambitious heavy over the last 12 months.
dont know much about bryant jennings but i would vote glazkov as number 1, he got a draw v malik scott but he seems to be busy and going for it... pulev seems to be making an effort too but a lot of fights are falling through with this guy, maybe not his fault but maybe there is something about him too :S i dont know... so it is glazkov for me

Most ambitious heavy has easily got to be Audley Harrison thinking he could stay in retirement!
