Might be the biggest waste of talent ever. Claims he hit a wall, but he shouldn't be entering for title fights if you're struggling at the weight and his excuses wore thin a while ago.
Beat me to it. Man did I have high hopes for that guy.
Guzman lost his title when he was absolutly beat to a pulp by Allakhverdiev and took the easy way out last time out. That was a hook job! 147 will only be the same. He is the poster boy for squandered 9 lives and piss poor professionalism.

fuck guzman for his gift over funeka three or four years ago, but then again fuck funeka for geting popped with diuretics. also i know im one of the few but was never that impressed with guzman, i know im in the minority but i thought his fight with soto was pretty close and not a wipeout for guzman as most saw it.

Its the people that allow him to get away with it that are to blame. Guzman is just exploiting the system because he is allowed to do it
1st few times he did it they should have punished him financially so bad that he could no longer afford to feed his kids then hed learn not to do it again

I have a feeling he's been surrounded by dickheads for quite some time. What a shame. I'm really intrigued to see how high a weight class he can move up to and still fail to make weight. Who knows, maybe theres still time for the guy to miss weight at 147 or even 154 yet......
He was 148 point something so he managed to miss 147 for a 140 fight. I think that breaks his own record. :)

Nope, he actually was nine pounds overweight for his fight against Ali Funeka. Funeka made the division limit of 135 and Guzman tipped the scales at 144. He actually had the balls to show up as a welterweight for a lightweight title fight, lol. The definition of being unprofessional.Quote:
