One of the highest priced PPV fight, rightly so?
I'm 100 percent okay with it, where did you see this? Is it HD price? If this is a success Floyd might take more chances.
I just watched Schafer say its $64.95 on YouTube
I wait a few hours and watch it for free. Not giving more of my money away to watch snooze fests.
The last few ppv fights have been terrible.
Opens the door for a Haye-Fury PPV same night. That's if sky sports can get the fight!
Anybody know who will be showing it in the UK?

There will be 4 major PPVs this year, UFC has them every month for 55 bucks in HD, I mean no one is making you buy anything, I'll probably take a pass on Rios-Manny but to dump on a major fight for a 5 dollar hike is ridiculous.Quote:

MAkes sense I guess, it's really an inelastic demand when it comes down to it. People who will buy a PPV wont mind shelling out a little more, people that will whine to the heavens about it would've never bought it in the first place. I fall into neither category for the record, just hope I can find a good stream;D
If the undercard are good I guess that is not a horrible price. If you get a group of friends together and kick in a few bucks it is a good time. I don't have many friends interested enough to get the fight so I'll watch it on Showtime a week or two after the fight. Anybody know what Canelos take for this fight is. I would guess he is getting close to two million but that is a guess

They are charging that much, because the dumb asses at Showtime gave a guaranteed contract to Mayweather for his fights. They lost money on his last fight, because it didn't even do a million buys, so they need to make sure they make money, and recoup some of their losses from the last fight.
That's probably why the fight ticket prices were so high, and they raised the closed circuit ticket price from the normal $50 to $100. They will probably charge more if they show it in movie theaters as well.

Floyd signed a contract that guaranteed him 32 million regardless of who he fought, he made that when he fought Guerrero that's why Showtime lost 12 million despite the fight making over 45 million. Yeah I would imagine the guarantee is without taking into account how many PPVS sell, although Mayweathers share of that revenue must be considerably less than it would be otherwise:dontknow: . Either way considering that Showtime lost money on the Guerrero fight, I'm sure some of the top men over there had ways to make this fight happen. For sure If Floyd's last fight wasn't a failure I highly doubt he'd be facing Canelo now. Everyone is making sure they get more than their monies worth this time.

I watched the Floyd v Gueurro fight again last night. It is not like Robert is a terrible fighter but Floyd made it look that way. Floyd can make good fighters look bad. This Canelo fight should be interesting. Many here don't think Canelo has much of a chance and that may very well be correct but it will be interesting to see how Floyd can handle Canelos body shots if Canelo can hit him.Although Cotto did touch him up a bit I don't think remembers what it's like to take shots like Canelo is capable of giving. It just seems like Canelo looks a little worse as he faces fighters with good skill. Floyd may very well befuddle him. I think the general consensus may be that is what will happen but Canelo will go in their with great determination. The more I think about this fight the more I want to see it live. I am going to look for a theatre around me that may be playing it. I think that may be a cheaper way to go than ppv.
