Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
One of the highest priced PPV fight, rightly so?
-
I'm 100 percent okay with it, where did you see this? Is it HD price? If this is a success Floyd might take more chances.
-
Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
I just watched Schafer say its $64.95 on YouTube
-
Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
I wait a few hours and watch it for free. Not giving more of my money away to watch snooze fests.
The last few ppv fights have been terrible.
-
Opens the door for a Haye-Fury PPV same night. That's if sky sports can get the fight!
Anybody know who will be showing it in the UK?

BoxNation announced that they had it last week.

Yes HD price, $74.95. Does anyone still watch PPV not on HD?

Than it's only 5 dollars more than Guerrero.

There will be 4 major PPVs this year, UFC has them every month for 55 bucks in HD, I mean no one is making you buy anything, I'll probably take a pass on Rios-Manny but to dump on a major fight for a 5 dollar hike is ridiculous.

To watch the same fight in the UK will cost less than $4. And Master won't even pay that. :-X

Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
$4 is a lot of money, you know how many flashes of tits you can see with that amount of money.
-
Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
£50 for a PPV, that is virtually certain to break records, that no American on here will buy, and some of you think you're the target audience (hilarious)

Sometimes I think people prefer complaining to watching boxing.

Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
I love boxing but that is a steep price to pay. What recession?
-
Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
Ok I'll start early....anyone have a link??? I'll pass and look forward to the HBO replay unless the undercard is very healthy :-X
-
Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
MAkes sense I guess, it's really an inelastic demand when it comes down to it. People who will buy a PPV wont mind shelling out a little more, people that will whine to the heavens about it would've never bought it in the first place. I fall into neither category for the record, just hope I can find a good stream;D
-
Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
If the undercard are good I guess that is not a horrible price. If you get a group of friends together and kick in a few bucks it is a good time. I don't have many friends interested enough to get the fight so I'll watch it on Showtime a week or two after the fight. Anybody know what Canelos take for this fight is. I would guess he is getting close to two million but that is a guess

You will see nothing on HBO replay. Mayweather-Alvarez is on SHOWTIME. :p

I'm guessing 5 million guarantee, Cotto got 8 million, Guerrero and Ortiz got 3 million dollar guarantee. I think 10 million is possible for Canelo. I feel lucky to be in Texas the house was packed for Floyd's Ortiz and Cotto fight and the JMM-Pac fights.

Keep forgetting he jumped ship, but for that bank they'll show it. Now if either gets a dramatic eye popping ko...I'll be po'd.

Wow, I wasn't thinking the numbers would be that big. Good for Canelo, young guy, seems nice. If he has a good showing the sky's the limit. If he could make this rematch worthy, that would be the shit.
You are right. Nice having a house full of friends watching a fight together. To me, it blows away the Super bowl, I know that sounds extreme but it's true

Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
They are charging that much, because the dumb asses at Showtime gave a guaranteed contract to Mayweather for his fights. They lost money on his last fight, because it didn't even do a million buys, so they need to make sure they make money, and recoup some of their losses from the last fight.
That's probably why the fight ticket prices were so high, and they raised the closed circuit ticket price from the normal $50 to $100. They will probably charge more if they show it in movie theaters as well.

Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
Hey Diane, wsup sweetie if you want me to take u to the theatre to watch the fight, let me know.. We can feed each other popcorns and all that girl. Just make sure to keep my beers cold in your bag nawm saying and we straight.
Anyway, I heard that Garcia-Mythesse might get on this card and if that's the case, he'll yea $75 is well worth it..

Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
Canelo is on a reported $12m if the PPV breaks 1.6m
Floyd is on a $40m guarantee regardless (:D)

I do not think that is true, if Floyd is guaranteed $40 million he would have taken an easier opponent at welterweight, it must have something in the contract that depends on PPV buys.
PS
The fight should be free on NBC sports

Floyd signed a contract that guaranteed him 32 million regardless of who he fought, he made that when he fought Guerrero that's why Showtime lost 12 million despite the fight making over 45 million. Showtime probably guranteed him 40 million because they have a chance to make 20 million dollars or so if the fight sales over 1.5

Yeah I would imagine the guarantee is without taking into account how many PPVS sell, although Mayweathers share of that revenue must be considerably less than it would be otherwise:dontknow: . Either way considering that Showtime lost money on the Guerrero fight, I'm sure some of the top men over there had ways to make this fight happen. It always struck me as absurd that they gave Floyd that kind of contract regardless of who he fights, they must have made sure there were some strings attached.

Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
This better be on boxnation

$40million is a conservative number of what Floyd will make. This fight has already broke the live gate record ($19m) and had over 100,000 fans attend the press tour. They are predicting that the PPV could challenge the 2.4 million record.
For sure If Floyd's last fight wasn't a failure I highly doubt he'd be facing Canelo now. Everyone is making sure they get more than their monies worth this time.

Re: Mayweather vs Alvarez PPV priced at $75
I watched the Floyd v Gueurro fight again last night. It is not like Robert is a terrible fighter but Floyd made it look that way. Floyd can make good fighters look bad. This Canelo fight should be interesting. Many here don't think Canelo has much of a chance and that may very well be correct but it will be interesting to see how Floyd can handle Canelos body shots if Canelo can hit him.Although Cotto did touch him up a bit I don't think remembers what it's like to take shots like Canelo is capable of giving. It just seems like Canelo looks a little worse as he faces fighters with good skill. Floyd may very well befuddle him. I think the general consensus may be that is what will happen but Canelo will go in their with great determination. The more I think about this fight the more I want to see it live. I am going to look for a theatre around me that may be playing it. I think that may be a cheaper way to go than ppv.
