I've just read on skyspots news that GGG wants Murray and can offer him a November date if he can get his visa sorted to fight in the USA. Murray didn't seem too interested though in the sky sports studio, it would be a good fight if it did happen.

One I would love to see! (As stated in another thread)
Defensively Murray is strong which would test GGG, probably a bigger test than Macklin!
Still predict he would punch through it and hurt him early!
He's never going to the visa, and I think GGG will be not wanting to fight in Europe as he wants to crack America, hopefully murray will fight Barker if he wins his tital match
By the way, it's a great positioning fight for GGG. If he starches Murray, he really sets himself up for a Martinez fight.
Good fight, I'd prefer Murray fight Quillin, I thought Hatton was Golden Boy though and Murray is Hatton's fighter, it might be GGG offering a fight he knows can't happen as he often does
Kid Choc is on Showtime though. That fight won't happen anytime soon. The main sticking point here is that Murray doesn't have a visa because of his criminal history. I recall Junior had extended an offer to Murray a couple of years ago, but it couldn't be made because of the visa issue. It seems to me Hatton should get him a US attorney and get the visa problem taken care of.
And i remember Murrays tactics if he had a fight with GGG he said he would need a baseball bat!!
He can probably get a lawyer and work something out. A big problem is that he has a violent record probably at what the US considers felony level. Still a good attorney could get him over. I just saw Golovkin fight here in Ct. He has scary power. I would be afraid Murray may keep himself covered up and not go on the offense. If Murray does get here it would be a great opportunity for him to get a name here. I fear he will leave the US with the name "that guy GGG knocked out". I like Murray and I would like to see him fight more. If he takes the GGG challenge I would give him a ton of credit. If he were to beat GGG he will have a good ride on HBO.
What is Murrays criminal history? Seems like a nice enough chap.
Great fight. I expect Golovkin to win, but Murray is probably our toughest Brit so I would expect him to go some rounds. His Visa issue may KO the fight though and Golvkin may be forced to look elsewhere.
Can someone delete this? I didn't realise @Tam Seddon had started a thread.
Why target the guy who is the interim to the belt you have?
Surely he should target you and you should be trying to get fights with other champions.
IT's good that GGG is fighting so often but he needs a real challenge. No more mediocre opponents like Macklin and Murray. All those guys are decent at the domestic level but nowhere near the elite American level.
Time to get it on with the likes of Quillin and Martinez..
He can't get fights with other belt holders at the moment.
Martinez is injured. Geale-Barker is set for August (if Barker wins there's more chance of an alien invasion than him unifying with GGG) and Quillin has a contract with Showtime.
Murray is currently the best possible opponent at middleweight.
The elite American level ? ;D You gotta be kidding. Like Quillin who won the esteemed WBO belt by beating a French Cameroonian who had beat a Ukranian ? The same Quillin who unlike Barker,Murray and Macklin has never fought the ARGENTINIAN Martinez. The same elite level Quillin that has never fought Sturm who both Murray and Macklin could be argued beat. IBF and WBA belt holding Sturm was he domestic level ? The last American Middleweights to win a world title fight before Quillen were Pavlik in 2007 and Taylor in 2005. There is no such thing as an elite American middleweight at the moment. Barker is more than capable of beating Geale and Quillin. In fact I would give both Murray and Macklin a good chance of beating Quillin.
Barker is more than capable of beating QUillin you say? LMFAO Beans.. thanks for the laughter..
Barker can beat Geale? Well ok but that's becuause they are both domestic level.. it's evenly matched..
Murray is best of that group I suppose but still, he's no match for the likes of QUillin and GGG...
I agree, you have to prove yourself to be worthy of US citizenship in order to compete with the champion from Kazakhstan via Germany. It's a good thing Golovkin jumped over to the states when he did, otherwise he'd have been complete shit. Quillin is athletic as hell and can punch, but he never seems to have a gameplan and can't box at an elite American level himself, I think it's because he has some cuban heritage. Everyone knows those guys cant fight either. It must have crushed our resident genius when his man Donaire was beaten by that crude domestic scrub Rigondeaux a while back.
I actually liked Murray , what a pity - :deadnew:
This fight will be interesting to see how GGG handles Murray in comparison with how Murray fought Sergio. However I do not think Murray will fancy facing GGG and will probably prefer to fight Geale v Barker winner which would be easier for him.
Ah. Well I'm sure he has, but if he does have a legitimate history of violence I don't think exceptions should be made. Do you remember by any chance what happened with Tyson fighting over there years back, being a convicted rapist and all? Are the UK more lenient than America as far as that stuff, in theory at least?
