He's not parading his sexuality around aimlessly is he, I don't see any problem with him coming out publicly. In a perfect world nobody should be proud of a genetic anomaly(which being gay is), but that's not the way things are, especially in sports. The bravery in it is due to the fact that gays have faced, and still do face ridicule. The public acknowledgement is a counter attack against that ridicule. You don't need to parade around your own orientation and preferences because no one is talking down to or calling heterosexual people names.
